FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'm on FSD 12.3.10. Is anyone else, also? My wife and I live in rural NW Wisconsin and use FSD 90% of the time. Although only statistics would hold the answer, FSD 'feels' safer to me than my own driving when we drive into Minneapolis in heavy traffic. I just focus on not hitting anything and...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I use FSD ~95% of the time here in rural, NW Wisconsin. I began using it in 2020 and can testify to many improvements, but the two-lane highway, WI35, has many deceleration lanes for making right turns and my Y makes so many lane changes into them that I sometimes avoid using FSD on my most...

CCS adapter problem in extreme cold

I tried to use my CCS adapter at Marketplace Foods near St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin on December 20th. The temperature was about zero Fahrenheit with a strong wind blowing. I have used it successfully there before, but no-go that time. I made several attempts thinking that I was doing something...

    "The Philosophical Car"

My son and his dogs were out in front of my car, unlocking a gate for me to escape the donkey (head home, actually), and I saw the dogs displayed on the screen being displayed sometimes as dogs, but also morphing into children. I wouldn't mind FSD driving into a tree to miss a child, but I would...

    "The Philosophical Car"

On page 56 of Yuval Harari's book, "21 Lessons", Harari starts talking about how AI might, in some ways, be 'better' at ethics than humans and suggests that Tesla may come out with different models to conform to human ethical preferences. The model names are "Altruist" and "Egoist". Harari...

    v10.12.2 aberant behavior today

Update: Today, FSD is working as it did before the problems. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do the reboot if the problems reoccur. Somehow FSD seems to have repaired itself.

    v10.12.2 aberant behavior today

Also, now no auto speed control in FSD. Also, kps changed to mph on its own today. I live in the US, but I'm traveling in Canada. I've been using this version and know it makes mistakes, but it changed it's behavior drastically yesterday and I don't think any developer would see the behavior...

    v10.12.2 aberant behavior today

FSD just failed to slow down at roundabouts or execute turns to follow the route! This is totally aberant from what I have been experiencing with v10.12.2. I'll continúe to test functionality, but my wife is not too happy about it.

Rear hatch lock would be helpful

I often have a bike rack on the back. I once accidentally hit the button to open the hatch and the hatch hit the bike rack and got scratched. I'm sure that will eventually happen again unless a lock is provided.

    2022.12 looks promising!

I would like to see a bigger snapshot button. I frequently miss it and it takes too much time to locate and get my finger on it while driving.

1UP-USA Hitch Mount Bike Rack Efficiency (Model 3)

I wanted a rack for my MY on long trips, so I designed and fabricated one. My wife and I are traveling back to Wisconsin from Tucson via Orlando and the rack is performing as I had hoped. The drag is not noticeable, although I'm sure there must be some penalty:

Suspected repeater camera defect that affects FSD performance

Thanks! Maybe someday... Crashes with deer are very common in my neck of the woods, and many of them happen at night.

Suspected repeater camera defect that affects FSD performance

Sorry for the 'aside', but I'm wondering if the cameras see infrared. I live in a rural area and, so far, my Y has not reacted to deer during the day or at night either on or along side the road. Any thoughts on that? Strangely, last year it slowed and I realized that a family of coyotes was...

    Phantom Braking

How about some praise for appropriate braking? Two days ago, I was in heavy traffic after dark. My Y started braking and I took control only to realize that it had seen a jaywalker dressing in dark clothing before I had seen him. That is not the only time similar situations have happened lately...

    Phantom Braking

I agree. Phantom braking seems far better lately.

    Phantom Braking

I'll bet that the decision to go 'pure vision' is primarily to remove the complexity of integrating sensors. I think that a goal of being able to meet the minimum requirement of being safer than the average human with only 'pure vision' is appropriate and may be the only viable path forward for...

    Minnesota - FSD Beta Videos

Thanks for the videos! I live over the border in WI, but know that when exiting small MN towns using Autopilot, the road signs read "End Reduced Speed" or something like that. Unfortunately, Autopilot doesn't know what to do with that and continues at 35mph or whatever. In rural WI, Autopilot...

    Model Y rodent damage?

I absolutely understand that rodents are problems for many cars. That doesn't mean that we must live with this. As a retired product designer, I know that there are professionals with the backing of capable manufacturers that can come up with solutions, especially if the kits are customized to...

    Model Y rodent damage?

Although I appreciate the suggestions that I have received related to dealing with Tesla pests, I think the magnitude of the problem deserves professionally designed kits, specifically for Tesla models. I have created a group called "Tesla Pests" and hope that people will promote it to attract...

Can we please talk about rodents inside Model Y and Model 3s

    Model Y rodent damage?

Rodents have attacked and invaded our Model Y. They have chewed on the firewall insulation and tore up some tissue paper in the center console in the cabin. I discovered the tissue paper evidence yesterday and, today, removed the maintenance panel to try to determine how the rodent got in. So...

    Model Y rodent damage?

Thanks. Not good news, but maybe I'll put an ultrasonic device under the car, or something. I hope Tesla will figure out a fix we can retrofit.

    Model Y rodent damage?

Apparently, some Tesla models have had serious damage due to rodents. Does anyone know if the Model Y is as vulnerable?
