What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

It's a case that you keep the Tesla Key Card in with a key ring attached, Amazon Link: Amazon.co.uk

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Just get a Car Key Card Holder Protector Cover Key Fob Case from Amazon, and attach house keys to the ring. Keep in pocket just in case phone unlock doesn't work.

Model Y Trunk Cargo Retractable Cover (for early models that came without one) Probably only a small number of people may be interested in this. I purchased it before I received my Model Y, as a trunk cover was not supposed to be fitted (as in the case of earlier models) but when my Model Y was...

    UK Model Y Spare Wheel

Ah, I don't seem to have explained this properly. Regulo, there is no difference to the hubs of a Model 3 and a Model Y. The space saver spare wheel that I have, does not have the cavities on the back to allow it to miss the hex screw head and sit flush to the hub. Hence the need to either...

    UK Model Y Spare Wheel

Thanks for that Regulo, I think that is the most logical way to go as it doesn't change the spec of the car. I couldn't find any videos on YouTube showing this, and not wishing to take that wheel off again (it's really heavy) to measure the position of the hex screw on the hub, I wonder if...

    UK Model Y Spare Wheel

Thank you both for your imput. I assume I can now remove that bolt if I have to fit my space saver spare, and then refit it when the proper wheel is replaced, with no danger of anything coming loose when driving with the spare fitted. You have to ask yourself why Tesla left a bolt there when it...

    UK Model Y Spare Wheel

Just tried fitting my ex Model 3 space saver wheel to my Model Y to see if I could reuse it on the Y. However there is a small hex screw in the face of the wheel hub which prevents my spare sitting flush to the hub, as shown on the attached pic. The original Y wheels have a shaped back face...

Delivery without USB-C ports and wireless phone charging

No, I'm not using the Tesla USB stick, I'm using a 512 GB SSD with 2 equal size exFAT partitions, one for the dashcam and sentry, and the other partition for my music files.

Delivery without USB-C ports and wireless phone charging

Well, I spoke too soon. When I went to drive the Y next, the dashcam icon had an X on it and on the 'car' screen, the dashcam area said 'no space'. However I could still play my music files from the 'MUSIC' partition. I get the impression that the Model Y doesn't like a multi partitioned USB...

Delivery without USB-C ports and wireless phone charging

Thank you and to Durzel who answered as well. It appears that the Model Y is different from the Model 3 in reading formatted USB (or SSD) drives. I actually was using a SSD and when it's partitioned and formatted in FAT32 and named TESLADRIVE with folder TeslaCam and the other partion named...

Delivery without USB-C ports and wireless phone charging

But it appears that you can't use a partitioned drive for sentry/dashcam and music anymore. It used to work on my 2019 Model 3, but my 2022 Model Y will not recognise a partitioned drive. So how are you supposed to play music files now, as all the other usb ports are power only, not data?

Q2 Collections - new owners thread

Is there something different about the USB data socket in the Model Y (in the glovebox) compared with the same in a 2019 Model 3+? I've traded in my 2019 Model 3 for a 2022 Model Y LR. I removed my previously working Dashcam and sentry SSD, which had a seperate partition for music, from the...

Spare wheel, M3 to MY question

Yes, sorry, I was wrong on the 19" Gemini wheel. The 19" and 20" wheels have the same rolling diameter and circumference. What I meant to say was that my space saver 18" wheel from my Model 3, (135/80/18) does not appear to be usable on the Model Y, as the rolling diameter is 39mm less and the...

Spare wheel, M3 to MY question

Yes, the 18" spare will be in limit for the MY 19" Gemini wheels, but unfortunately for me will not be in limit for the 20" Induction wheels on my forthcoming MY.

Spare wheel, M3 to MY question

Thanks for that Adopado. It says my spare will be 1.5" (39mm) smaller in rolling diameter and it 'exceeds the recommended lower limit of -3% for the tire downsizing' so presumably I can't use it. I only wanted to use it in an emergency, but It looks like I won't be able to even do that. Anyway...

Spare wheel, M3 to MY question

I will soon (hopefully May) trade my Model 3 in for a Model Y. I have an 18" steel spare wheel for my M3, with a tyre size of 135/80 18. I understand the tyres on the MY 20" induction wheels are 255/40 20. I am assuming the hubs/stud PCD, are the same on both cars. I'm having difficulty (I'm...

UK and Ireland Marketplace - For Sale / Wanted / Free

No, the foot sensor is not included in the kit. The close button (included) can go anywhere you like in the boot, but it is usually fitted to the plastic trim of the boot lid adjacent to the latch. A hole saw is included in the kit for the switch mounting point. Lots of videos on You Tube show...

UK and Ireland Marketplace - For Sale / Wanted / Free

All the wiring is plug and play, but it's virtually impossible to get the cables with their plugs, through the rubber flexible conduit from the boot lid to the car. I cut these two wires and resoldered (with heat shrink) after pulling the cables through. It's really easy to do it this way and...

I am part exchanging my Model 3 for a Model Y soon, so I have the following for sale: Hansshow Power Tailgate v4 kit. Removed from 2019 Tesla Model 3 SR+ in full working order. I will also throw in 4, Five Claw Wheel Center Caps Hub Covers (Grey with red T tesla logo) see pics. I think these...

    Wheelie Bins

I just know I'm going to get shot down here, but ever since I got my car, and more so since the screen interface change, I have never understood what the purpose of the visualisation part of the screen was supposed to be for. I mean you can see other cars, lorries, wheelie bins, bollards etc...

Question about home charging the Model 3 - Tesla button alternatives

I purchased a 'Tesla Retrofit Button Kit' from here: Tesla retrofit button kit - evChargeking Really easy to fit to a type 2 plug if you're handy with a soldering iron and can drill one hole. All the instructions are on the website and the mod takes about an hour. It's so handy, no more having...

Poll for most annoying aspect of your model 3

I voted 'other' but I'm greedy and mentioning two of the things I find the most annoying aspect of the M3. Number 1, has to be THE worst voice recognition software of all the cars I've ever owned. Even with the latest software update with 'country specific voice', it doesn't recognise any...
