Regular restaurant goers often fill that area. Maybe they are expanding the parking lot or otherwise there will be a lot of icing and I can't really blame them. That's a quarter of that parking lot.

It’s simple if you ignore all the other gaps that’s still exist that have zero chargers instead of this one now with one of the largest combined installations in the region. Checkout some of the massive gaps in the west and tell me Crossville needed 24 chargers before any of those.

When the supply of Superchargers is limited, then there is most definitely such a thing as "too many" supercharges in an area. Put those 8 chargers at the winery in Murfreesboro or Clarksville instead and I guarantee they get more usage. The chargers at Buccees is the right move. They messed...

@Jeremy3292 you think Crossville, TN supports 24 V3 chargers? This is more chargers than anywhere else in the state, and one of the largest in the region.

This many chargers being less than a mile from 8 other brand new V3's shows there's definitely some poor planning happening inside Tesla.

I happened upon a permit for a 40,000 sq ft Collision Center being built "for Tesla Inc." at 7256 Centennial Pl in Nashville. It looks like construction got bogged down in permitting for a while, but appears to still be moving forward.

I can't imagine this is high on Tesla's list. There are already 8 v3's at this exit. These superchargers would be a waste.

Totally agree. I thought for sure Clarksville and Murfreesboro would be soon. Would like a v3 between nashville and Memphis soon as well.

Drove by this weekend. Still fenced, but I did see the transformer is already in place so we won't be waiting on that like some sites. No meter yet though.

I'm headed to Memphis this weekend. Looks like I will just miss it which is a real shame. These are so much better located for my trip. Not to mention the crowding and V2 speeds at the other location.

Based on the photos I’ve seen, I think the second image is accurate. It appears to be directly to the right of the first entrance.

There is a nightmare story on PlugShare claiming it takes an hour to leave during the busy periods because of traffic flow at the pumps. Is this at all true? Should we just plan to use this as an emergency charger only?

The permit was approved yesterday. I was in town Sunday, but there was no equipment on site yet. It also looks like the city took down the itemized quote from Tesla’s contractor. Guess they didn’t want that made public.

Just seems like such an odd location. I would think Clarksville or Murfreesboro would have a better impact than Hendersonville.

Reading through the permit for this install, and it still seems stuck in processing. Initially Tesla designed it to the incorrect electrical code revision, and now the city says the total cost of the project seems low so they are requiring a detailed breakdown of the cost. Can anyone confirm if this charger is more stable now? May Be relying on it sometime this week for a trip, but not if only two chargers are operable.

Any updates on this by chance? I’ll be heading that way sometime in the next month and this is my ideal charging location.

This definitely makes more sense than Hendersonville. This is too close to me to be useful generally, but I like having chargers only 10-20 miles from home so I can really stretch that last leg and bail if needed.

According to this permit, there will be 12 chargers located at 2751 WOLFCREEK PKWY. I’ve circled in red on the map below where the permit attachments indicate they will be installed. This appears to be almost right next to an EA station in the same lot.

Looks like most of these plans were drawn up the middle of last year. Anyone able to get pictures of the location to see if there’s any progress? Looking forward to this one!

The pin always goes to the “city center” until it’s actually opened. This suggests it will most likely be in the city somewhere, but that’s about it.

I’m really wondering what the point of the Tesla Supercharger map is if so many get built before showing as “coming” on the map.

You can access the HVAC quickly now, but for some reason Tesla still insists on HVAC turning on if you just want to look at the screen. Or now if you just want to change the heated seat settings since they buried that. There’s a power button on the screen! I will press it if I want it on. THAT’S...

I was curious if anyone would be able to provide crowd reports here now that this second location has opened? Do you all expect the holidays to be smoother this year for Knoxville charging?

I think that is just the city center of Memphis. You can zoom in on many other ’to be’ chargers and they are often just city centers. Not sure why sometimes they put neighborhood specific markers vs city center.

I have no definitive proof, but I think the general address of this SC will be 300 Kimball Crossing Dr. There's a permit for a big service install there. The rough-in inspection is already complete. It's in an area with what looks like a lot of excess parking, and very close to the interstate...

Anyone been able to find out where the new Memphis Super Charger is gong to be located?

The online permit system shows that the rough in inspection was completed on the 14th of this month. For Pigeon Forge, the final inspection was complete less than two weeks later. If anyone finds themselves in the area, There should at least be something to take a photo of.

I did some reading on this the other day and it appears a lot of 8 charger v3 sites are on a 500 kVA transformer So this isn’t out of the ordinary. It’s talked about widely that you can often exceed the “limits“ of these utility transformers by quite a bit as long as it’s not sustained so there...

Really expected a 12 charger setup given the congestion at the other location. This is still fantastic news and should get Knoxville at least above water for a while again.

Not sure how to edit my original post, but I think the permit is referring to amps instead of kw as I said above. Not sure this is even an accurate indication of the install size as the Pigeon Forge permit says 401-600, but we know it's a 12 stall build.

I’ve found the state permit for this supercharger. It’s going to be located at 2444 Genesis Rd. No timeline that I can see from the limited permit info. The only other info I can glean from it is that it will be between 600-1000 KW install, but that’s pretty standard for 8-12 stall v3 I think.

I’m really hoping this takes some pressure off the Knoxville charger. I’ve been through Knoxville 4 times now in the past couple months. I’ve had to wait at that charger every single time. V2 chargers just really bog down when full.

Well I sure hope they don’t light it up on the map while there’s still construction fencing around it.

Sometimes things can Look nice and tidy from the outside, But inside those cabinets could just be a jumble of cables not hooked up yet. The charger my me looked this “done” for almost 3 weeks. I’m visiting Dollywood this weekend so I would LOVE for this to be up and running, but I highly doubt it.

Heard from the Nashville store that this one had a soft opening yesterday. They also said there was going to be a Chattanooga store opening within a year. I’ll admit this person seemed a bit gossipy for an employee so we can take it with a grain of salt, but thought I’d pass it along.

Any update on this from the Memphis folks? I know it’s unlikely, but as someone who visits memphis often, really hoping this comes with super chargers. The current locations isn’t great for me, and it’s always busy.
