Tesla Financial Services UK - Ghost-ship?

The app should show you the settlement figure with no need to contact FS - when I settled the finance last year, the email response from them was that the app is up to date for settlement figure within 2 days of any scheduled payments. Can't help with the V5 though...

Super charge speed if battery not pre-conditioned prior to arrival

Skip Cardiff (8x 250kW) & just go for Newport (12x 250kW). Almost no chance of having to wait there even though this SC is open to all, as there are loads of other chargers. It's not brilliantly signposted though, being in the grounds of Celtic Manor hotel, but away from the hotel. Basically...

    Tesla survey [UK]

I received it about a month ago. Made some comments about wipers, getting some more control options onto the buttons, and a caution within the "will you buy Tesla again?" about being unsure if stalkless was going to work for me....

    Stalkless....until 2026 anyway!

Euro NCAP rules for safety ratings will change in 2026, due to safety concerns over the steady loss of buttons, etc for controls. Each "essential" item with no physical button / stalk / switch will result in a downgrading of the cars safety. Could see M3H dropped from 5 stars to 4 or even 3 in...

    Model 3 vs flooding

Drive slowly & carefully as there may be debris under the surface, otherwise you should have no issues. I traversed several fords & floodwaters in the deluge in Oct last year as I had to travel from Notts to the Cotswolds, and the only issue I had was the loss of an aero cover somewhere along...

2024 Highland with 19"Nova wheels - checking & changing tyre pressures

Tesla's own TPMS readings are pretty accurate, and will show low reading if the temps are cold but these will normalise on driving as the tyre warms up. I've had the trims off my 2020M3 loads of times without issue, so I would not worry about popping them off.

Charging 2 x Teslas on one Zappi charger?

Yes, you can use the same charger on different nights, but IO will only work with YOUR Tesla IF IO is linked to the car rather than the charger. If IO is linked to the Zappi, then IO will work for both. If IO is linked to your Tesla, then your wife's car will need to have a schedule set in the...

Old BT Cabinets to become EV chargers…

Article I read said all charge points would supply 7.4kW, same as a domestic unit.
  10. C

    MOT Chester?

No, M3LR. Only thing I would confirm ahead of time is that they can handle the size of the car, as I have seen reports here of some garages being unable to deal with S/X on their ramps/lifts (admittedly some were independents, but saves hassle checking up front).
  11. C

    MOT Chester?

If you have a Halfords Autocentre local to you, they should be fine. Had mine done at my local before Xmas - no issues, they had their own jackpads, etc & they have a full EV service menu listing online too.

Other all-season tyre options apart from CrossClimate 2...

FWIW, I saw little to no change in efficiency with the Hankook all-seasons over the last year. Summer handling, braking, etc are also excellent. On a relaxed, warm & sunny 3.5 hour run into darkest Norfolk in June (majority A roads with 60mph limits, lots of twisty 30 mph B roads, Chill mode) I...

Other all-season tyre options apart from CrossClimate 2...

I've been running the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 all seasons on my M3 for just over a year - great tyres, esp in the wet, although they take a few hundred miles to scrub in (a touch "slippery" until then, so care is needed pulling out of junctions, etc). They placed 2nd behing the CrossClimate 2s in...

    M3 LR 22 model (Autosteer)

Autosteer disables on any lane changes, unless you have purchased EAP or FSD, so this is normal. If it is not available, then either the route does not allow for it (too minor a road, or poor lane markings), or other factor at play (cameras obscured, etc)

    Can't charge to 100% ?

You do have some blue bar on your charge bar, indicating cold battery - it's possible there was more overnight, and the system has just protected the battery? Have you tried unplugging prior to restarting, as this may allow for the difference (minus the blue "cold" amount) to be added?

    UK Aug 23 Insurance Recommendations

I'm with Churchill, and my renewal is £417, up from £242 last year. No claims, no offences, no changes. Accepted it as comparison sites were showing £580+ Swings & roundabouts - last year's price I got down from £368, & it's still a very good price (M3LR) so taking it on the chin.....

    MOT recommendation for North East?

I just had mine done at a Halfords Autocentre in Notts - no issues, sailed through. The specifically list MOT & service bookings for EVs, so I would guess they are getting training on the various EVs on the market. I have used this branch for tyres & some work on the wife's BMW, so I know they...

    Ohme ePod + Intelligent problem

If you've linked Intelligent to the Tesla directly, and made the Ohme charger "dumb" (no schedules), then Octopus scheduling provides the car with whatever charge amount it is set for, within whatever schedules it sets. OR Accept the standard 23.30 - 05.30 cheap rate window Intelligent offers...

2nd car purchase - email / app issue

Afternoon folks, Wifey has just ordered a MY, but for some bizarre reason used a different email address in the order process to the one she already has registered with the Tesla app for my M3. She now says that she is getting emails from Tesla asking to complete pre-purchase info, but claims...

    Trade in - payment query

They transfer the money, although be prepared to wait up to a month after collection for that to happen! They'll notify you of the reg several days prior to collection, but you shouldn't have any issues getting the insurance quote in advance & just finalising when you have the reg.

    Car didn't charge again!

Avoid using airplane mode - I've had charging disrupted (with Ohme charger & Intelligent Octopus) when my Andriod phone has rebooted overnight due to a software / firmware update, so any break in connectivity appears to be the key issue. Use Do Not Disturb function instead.

Model 3 sunshades - rear passenger side windows

I have these from Amazon - no complaints from my twins (the smaller size fits the M3, larger size fits the BMW 5 series). Only issue is you can't open the windows with them in place, but the smaller ones fit into the space fine allowing for the window drop on opening the door.

True, they can be. Sadly, many tyre places refuse to do so as it is more time-consuming than a regular tyre (but claim they can't be repaired).

    Potential UK Model Y Purchase

Welcome! In short: - if you want parking sensors, either a used MY (although you may need to be v careful about build dates to ensure they are fitted), or not a Tesla. Vision could be a long way off yet, as Tesla always say that a particular feature is coming "in 2 weeks" / "this quarter" / etc...

Losing air from one tyre – TPMS concerns - recommendations please

As others have said - get it checked at a tyre place. I had similar issues with the NSF repeatedly being 2-3psi down, found a 2" buckled section of rim which was largely hidden from view by the aero cover. Probably from 1 of the many potholes on our roads.... Wheel refurb place in Lincoln...

OHME and model Y amp charging

Not the Ohme per se, just adjust the charge amps in the Tesla app to below the inverter maximum so it doesn't draw from the grid. If on IO you do need to override that in order to prevent it stopping the charge until the cheap window.
  32. C

OHME and model Y amp charging

FYI - the Tesla app will often show a max 16A charge option when NOT charging - once charging has started the 32A option reappears, can be selected (if not automatically), and will remain in place unless changed in the app/car later. I often drop the charge amps when charging via solar with my...

    Ohme ePod + Intelligent problem

I'm guessing you've linked the Ohme to Intelligent, and using that to schedule charging? If so, quickest fix is: 1. Delete the Ohme from Intelligent Octopus, and remove any schedules (ie - make it dumb) 2. Link Intelligent to your M3 instead OR: 3. Set a charge schedule in the M3 for the cheap...

Using dropped pins and Tesla navigation

It typically selects the road adjacent to the chosen "square", so some care may be necessary for venues between 2 or more roads, 1-way routes and locations at junctions. In this instance, I select the square on the approaching/passing road itself rather than the exact property, and share that.
  36. C

Using dropped pins and Tesla navigation

W3W works fine - from w3w chosen location just tap "Navigate", and Tesla appears as an option. Select & you get the "Shared with Tesla" confirmation. Strangely, Tesla also appears as an option under "Share", but refuses to work from that (says unable to send)....

Windscreen repair - insurance or self-pay?

Not classed as a claim, won't affect your premium (any changes to that will be entirely coincidental & at the whim of the underwriters!), so just go for it. Had the centre roof glass of my M3 replaced due to a large crack - Churchill treated it the same as windscreen. Premium actually went down...

Tesla Energy Plan to Octopus Flux

Your incoming MPAN is on your electricity bill - its the 13 digit supply number shown in the "Details" section of your bill. Topfit Steering Wheel Display

For those who don't want to hard wire devices, I recommend the Commander & S3XY buttons app, along with a phone mount for the dash. Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Afraid I can't answer re: the charger, but for the general load it will take the max inverter output (or whatever you've set, if lower) from solar/battery, & top up from the grid as needed. The solar/battery will be your priority power feed, grid will be secondary, until solar stops generating...

    35cm crack in rear windscreen

Frankly, getting the glass replaced under warranty is an amazing result - I had the roof glass crack last year, no evidence of impact, and it cost nearly £1k to replace - although that was reimbursed by my insurer minus the usual glass excess. Had to have it done at Tesla as none of the...

[UK] Insurance prices - is it Tesla or my claim causing the high price?

Churchill nearly doubled my M3LR renewal in Dec too (£348 to £643) - so I went online & reworked my existing policy (basically just removed my wife's minimal business use of 1000 miles which she no longer needed), and my quote dropped to £240, even with Comp plus. Renewed on the spot! That's 49...

    Car Alarm Nightmare (Again)

Similar happened to me last summer - was out for the day with kids & my parents, stopped to grab some food & drinks from a shop on our way to the next location. Warwick south services, lunchtime today (27th) - All chargers in use, 7 Tesla's waiting, and all gridserve taken.
