OK, after some more thought and searching, this might be feasible and reasonable too. Thermal Cameras for your Smartphone with a Raspberry Pi using OpenThermal/libseek-thermal and with the viewer app to have the output going to HDMI. So that makes it roughly $250 to $500 depending on... -

Well, you can actually get HDMI on flir.....but I forgot how expensive flir cameras are...just looked and the base model from flir.com is $7k...nevermind. :) -
