There’s lots of conjecture and rumours, but has anyone on here actually been contacted by Tesla, or their lawyers, after having supercharging enabled by a 3rd party on a salvage vehicle? Tesla say they make take legal action and seek compensation but has this ever happened?

I restored internet connectivity by copying a backup of p3 to /var/ Later firmware versions must have deleted or changed a file in there.

Looks like you're correct, I went back to 2018.48 today and still no connectivity. So now it looks like anything before 2019.40 causes a problem with internet connectivity when downgrading firmware. I wonder why 🤔

I've bought a spare salvage MCU to play with, going to practise on that first before attempting it on my own car as I don't want to brick it! I'll keep you informed of any progress on PM.

Not if there are scripts running at boot that disable the port in seceth ;-)

Just to help out anyone else who ends up in my position - the init-stage-1.sh file in /var/lib/boot shouldn't be there. Delete the whole directory and the contents of /var/lost+found then reboot.

Tried that for hours tonight, rebooted CID and gateway from developer mode on the MCU. Turned off 12V etc. Ran nmap, port 25956 is never open.

CID updater is not running on my MCU1. I can ping the CID from the IC, put it into developer mode and factory mode, but there is no response to telnet on 25956. I need to run a service redeploy to install new hardware. How do I start the cid updater?

Is it possible to retrofit the CCS upgrade yourself to a MY14 MS, not have to take the car to a Tesla Service Centre? I can buy the CCS combo 2 adapter obviously, but apparently it needs some additional electronics adding to early cars. I'm on FW v8.1 BTW.
