Brand new Y with flat tire - my journey

Oh don't worry, the terrible ride is BOTH the tires and suspension. On smaller wheels / bigger tires with more sidewall, the ride is better, but still not great. I don't think you'll get much benefit out of swapping the OEM tires with different tires of the same size. You could drop the...

    Model Y wheel options

I've been getting under 270 Wh/mi consistently, sometimes down to 250ish. I think it's slightly worse than before but still "normal" and hard to compare since I didn't really do a scientific test of the same routes before. Anecdotally, I'm getting better range than others I know who drive more...

    Model Y wheel options

I assume that the aftermarket lift would void the warranty for just the suspension - I'm sure if I came in with a suspension problem they'd make me pay for it. But it definitely didn't void the whole warranty, because I've had other things fixed. I'd be surprised if different wheels and tires...

    Model Y wheel options

Sample size of one, but when I had my Y at a service center, they noticed the 18" wheels and lift kit and just thought it was cool - it didn't seem to surprise them at all.

Install of MPP Lift Kit (Washington DC)

I used these guys in Denver for install and alignment: Tesla Model Y Performance Services | Bluewater Performance They weren't able to get the alignment perfect, but it seems to be fine, and they had done it before.

Brand new Y with flat tire - my journey

Is it crazy to consider a full size spare on a hitch mount? Obviously a range hit but I haven't come up with a better solution to this. I keep a full size spare in my garage right now, and sometimes throw it in the back for long trips, but it really takes up a huge amount of space. I have...

    Model Y wheel options

I *think* that will fit, but the Model 3 wheels don't have a high enough load rating, per some other folks here. I ended up doing 255/55R18. Here's an after pic. This is TSW Pescara 18X8.5 / 30 offset wheels & Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II 255/55R18 109V tires. The total diameter...

Vendor NEW! Tesla Specific Rotary Forged wheels by Ohm Wheels

I was told the same thing at a local Discount Tire - they can't get Ohm wheels anymore. They thought maybe it had something to do with the recent TSW acquisition Maybe @GetYourWheels can comment?

FS: Model Y 2021 OEM 19'' Gemini Wheels, Tires, TPMS, & Aero Covers - Boulder, CO

I replaced the OEM wheels and tires right away, so I have four 19" Model Y Gemini Wheels with the Continental ProContact Tires (255/45R19), TPMS, and Aero covers taken off a 2021 Model Y LR. They have about 300 miles on them. Located in Boulder/Denver metro. I could meet you nearby. Looking...

    Model Y wheel options

What tires and size did you use on the 18s? I'm thinking about 235/55R18 (increases diameter 0.2" from the 19" oem) or 255/55R18 (increase diameter 1"). I'm planning that for summer as well as winter though.

    Model Y wheel options

@DenverEV, did you end up doing this? I'm considering going down to 18s too on a long range. Besides general ride quality, I was thinking about doing Geolandar A/T G015s in 235/55R18, which meet the load rating but not quite the speed rating. I'm want to have something a little safer on dirt...
