    Gap in Rear Glass Panel

The hydraulic lift for the trunk door may explain the weather strip being shortened on the driver side. But it doesn't make sense for the panel gap. It's been 3 months for me. Been in the rain and car wash a couple of times. No issues. The panel gap doesn't bother me anymore. Mobile guy said the...

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

I see a business model where "car guys" accompany Tesla buyers to point out the issues pre-purchase....kind of like the house "inspection" walk through. I went with my wife who is a software engineer when I picked up mine. She was more interested in their algorithms and could care less about...

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Yeah, my right side trunk/panel gap is smaller than the left. I haven't had any leaks or noise so far (1.5 months). Have taken during rain and automatic car wash. No problem. It doesn't bother me anymore. I don't like the asymmetric panel gap, but I am sensitized now. Car drives great.

    Model 3, LR-AWD First Impressions

I find my M3, LR's sound system is terrific. Even my non audiophile wife noticed it and was impressed. I'm surprised by your comment on that. Glad you had a good experience and enjoying the car.

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

I checked mine (also white M3 LR, 2021). I do have gaps and some protrusion. I didn't notice/bother. I took the car for a wash and don't notice any condensation/leaks. Looks like the tail light units are individually sealed. I would not worry too much.

Do you see the gap between the tail light and the trunk lid? Hard to tell from the picture

Rejecting my 2020 Tesla M3P after 4 months of ownership. Sad day

Agree. You hate to the one that ends up on the wrong end of the statistical curve. In the grand scheme of things, it's still just a car. I was waiting for Lexus to come out with an EV in the US, but decided to buy M3, just to be part of early innovation and an engaging community.

Rejecting my 2020 Tesla M3P after 4 months of ownership. Sad day

Yes. I decided to buy M3, after my Audi dealer kept finding newer leaks, oil spots and transmission...and kept quoting higher $$. I hope my M3 LR lasts longer and not have major issues.

Rejecting my 2020 Tesla M3P after 4 months of ownership. Sad day

Agree - competition is the ultimate driver to either innovate (includes quality) or die. I must admit, the car is fun to drive, nothing like I have experienced before. Traditional automakers suck in software (check out ID.4). But if they lure talent away from tech, find better battery...

Rejecting my 2020 Tesla M3P after 4 months of ownership. Sad day

I guess we have to start dancing on top of Tesla cars like that lady in Shanghai, to get Tesla serious about these issues.

Rejecting my 2020 Tesla M3P after 4 months of ownership. Sad day

Agree. If Elon can stop obsessing about FSD and fix these apparent quality issues, the total addressable market for Tesla is huge.

Rejecting my 2020 Tesla M3P after 4 months of ownership. Sad day

Tesla needs to hire away Lexus assembly line gurus. These panel gaps and poor finish are embarrassing. I knew about these, still decided to buy for the tech and dual EV motor handling. My purists car friends just can't.

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Picture of the back. I don't see any major realignment (I didn't even notice the gap before taking delivery..so, not a good eye)

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

The mobile tech measured and uploaded the pictures to Tesla. He said the rear roof is misaligned. Not sure what this means. The car drives great and coming from a Prius Prime, I love the handling. If not for the cosmetic defects, this car is close to perfect.

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Took delivery of M3 LR 5 days ago. After coming home noticed about 8-9 mm gap at the driver side rear roof panel/trunk lid (see photo). Took it to a car wash - no leak or any other road noise. I logged with the mobile service tech who came to install HokeLink. Should I take it to a SC (2 hours...

    Gap in Rear Glass Panel

What do guys think of this gap - about 8 mm rear driver side trunk glass roof alignment? No leaks after a car wash and I don't hear any noise. Took delivery 4 days ago. Mobile service guy came and took measurements. Take it to SC? I live in Des Moines. Nearest SC is Council Bluffs, 2 hr drive

Live in Des Moines, Iowa taking delivery of M3, LR in Minneapolis

Ordered 3/24. Got VIN today White + 19" wheels. Should I pay ACH now? I'm planning to do one-way rental to Eden Prairie, MN and pick up the M3. Just nervous to make the full payment before seeing the car. Any advice? Read on CNBC about refund nightmares from Tesla. Thank you.
