If you’re just looking for level 2 charging, Christina Lake visitor centre is a nice stop with a good restaurant. Greenwood museum is a fast level 2 as well and you can take your pick of food on their Main Street. Castlegar is dicey as chargers are often being used already. Salmo visitor centre...

I haven’t checked in a while but today had some good news finally 👍🏼 We finally have a green box in Creston.

No actual progress here, but this is new…starting to think they’ll never turn these on 😢 They still aren’t hooked up to any power source.

Nothing. Still waiting on Fortis to install a green transformer. I check pretty regularly (at least once a week) so will let everyone know as soon as something happens.

Haha they are official and happening on our airport tarmac. Being put on by a local car group called the Creston Valley Cruisers. Their Facebook page has more info. Hopefully the supercharger is up and running by then so any out of towners can get an easy full charge for race day!

I have been continuing to check this site and as of today there is still nothing new happening here. Sorry to not have any better news! On a side note, there are drag races happening in Creston on May 22 and I encourage any EV drivers to enter and show everyone what they are capable of! I hope...

Anyone know what this box on the side is? I don’t know when it went in but it isn’t in all of my previous pictures. It was progress that I didn’t notice when it happened.

Ok, thanks for that. I’ll take a look next time. I should point out too, if it isn’t clear in the photos, but there still is no paving done on the parking spots. When they did the construction, they also dug a trench towards some green transformer boxes that were already there for the hotel...

Where would I look for that? My understanding was that this site still needs a green box beside the white cabinets (between the yellow posts). Is that not where the meter would go or am I misunderstanding what steps still need to be completed?

Nothing new in Creston as of today.

I will check tomorrow or Saturday. There was no action for quite a while so I stopped checking so often. There was some action in Cranbrook today though so maybe they’ll be making their rounds over here soon too.

Still working away at wiring up the cabinets today. Nothing looks new.

There was more activity at the site today. Workers doing stuff in the big cabinets and others nosing around the green transformers beside Ricky’s that were already there. No new equipment on site today that I noticed though. I’ll post pics later in the week if there are any notable changes.

I don’t know how such things work, but could it be that the performance has lowered suspension (bringing it down) but still has the same ground clearance due to having larger wheels (bringing it back up)?

Today’s photo update.

I believe it was changed to a construction pin on the false start back in October. I’ll make sure to post some more photos this week on here though.

They are working through the weekend. Still mostly a hole in the ground but made some progress this week 👍🏼 No cabinets up yet but I think I saw the pallet of them there waiting.

Checked on Saturday and nothing was happening. Tonight, there seems to be action. Don’t want to jump the gun again and get too excited…but this time it looks like they actually broke asphalt. There’s a Spark Power work truck parked at the hotel as well so there must be workers on site.

Went through yesterday (Dec 23). Still looks the same. No Christmas miracles for Castlegar :(

I’m assuming that having the stalls right in front of Ricky’s would cause conflict with the regular patrons to that restaurant who like to park close to the entrance but don’t drive EVs. Behind the hotel or along the highway going west would be a better spot for the local businesses, imo. But...

Just checked Google street view…this definitely has been there for a while. Maybe we jumped the gun :(

Here is a photo. I could be wrong but I don’t remember that being there before. There is also some red paint marked out on about 5 parking stalls right below this. Is that maybe from what the Fortis worker was checking the other day?

All that plastic piping from the last photo has been used to wire straight into the overhead power lines. No sign of Spark Power trucks when I checked this afternoon.

I’ll be checking most days. Have been checking for a while as I caught wind that construction may be starting soon.
