Inherit a Tesla

What happens if a family member dies and you don’t know how to access their Tesla account? How do you transfer ownership of their vehicle? Has this happened to anyone yet?

I don’t know why this popped into my head this morning but thought it might be a bit of a hassle if this weird case were to happen.

The estate of the deceased (executor) will be the one authorized to access the account and can have Tesla do the transfer. It will be the same process for any transfer of assets.
