    Buy Used 2019 vs 2021 Model S

I was recently in a similar position, I went with the 19. A couple more factors that I considered - Sales tax, registration, and insurance is way higher (in my area) on the 21, especially the insurance.

General chit-chat in "For Sale" threads

Im in the market again, Im using Cars.com for local listings, Carmax has decent prices that are falling, Tesla.com or EV-CPO (one of the best sites out there), Cargurus is nice but they spam you with national listings, Truecar also has good options, Tesla-info has the most options (imo),

    Polestar 2 ordered

Close to 4 months in and I've had to do a handful of console resets to fix minor issues but I havent experienced any issues that a reset didnt fix. Only thing I miss about the M3 is the efficiency because the Polestar 2 loves to suck down the juice. Still love Tesla's though and I hope to sell...

Nice! M3P is a hell of a car and will be a ton of fun. What is your build?

    Polestar 2 ordered

I was mostly speaking on exterior looks (reminds me of 80s mustang). Driving wise its got the heavy body feel of an AMC but not much else is similar

    Polestar 2 ordered

Just brought it back from a 5 1/2 hour road trip back. Initial thoughts - LOVE the car! Its more comfortable and I like the looks inside and out better than the 3 ('19 LR AWD (no AB)). 3 has a sports car, Porsche feel to me and the P2 has an American muscle car vibe. P2 has a really nice glide...

    Polestar 2 ordered

Havent gone there yet but I wouldnt put up with that, I'll walk if they try to devalue the car. They gave a fair price according KBB standards ($500 more than Cavana) and I got them to go up $300 more with hard negotiations.

    Polestar 2 ordered

The online order process has been bad, which lead to confusion and me getting a 22 instead of a 21 ($2000 more than I expected but they worked with me). I've been stuck on step 4 in their system since I ordered on 10/13 and the car was delivered to dealer 4 days ago. Pricing breakdown has some...

Dear god, they would make SO much more money if they just gave competitive offers. Their offers are insulting.

    Polestar 2 ordered

I ordered two days ago, havent gotten a VIN but Im just completing the online process this afternoon. Salesman said one to two weeks for delivery because they had my configuration (Void on charcoal/black ash, all three packages) at another lot. So Im guessing it will be a 21 not a 22 (22s have...

Thanks, admittedly still on the fence because Im def going to miss my 2019 M3 LR AWD with only 18k miles. But Im getting more than I paid for it in trade-in plus the tax incentive and a good dealer incentives makes this an irresistible offer (to me at least). Im willing to try it out and go back...

"Price premium" is a fancy way of saying "price gouge". That's extra gouge when you didn't pay taxes on it since you live in jersey

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

Thread derailed - @Maui Girl I recommend looking into the Mini EV and the BMW i4 M. Mini because at 40k with a 7500 rebate you are comfortably lower than the M3 and getting a fun EV that is probably available now. BMW i4 M starts at 65k and also has 7500 rebate but will undoubtedly end up being...

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

Haha seems like half the people I talk to can't stand minis. I don't think anyone will argue they aren't fun to drive though. I like the circle display and interior on this model

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

That BMW i4 is slick! I put a deposit (fully refundable) on one but I dont think I'll end up getting it. The car has over 30k in upgrade options and im not sure what will come with the base 64k m model but Im believe it wont be enough to compete with a M3P. It is eligible for the $7500 rebate though

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

I did a little more research and it looks like people primarily take this as a second vehicle or short commuter. There are complaints about the battery making sudden big adjustments on range but no other major issues. It lives up to the mini cooper standard of fun and generally owners are happy...

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

Yep, that's the one. I've never owned a mini so I won't speak to reliability but what you said about it being fun to drive and looking good is consistent with what I've heard from other Mini owners. The fun factor, circular lcd, and 7500 incentive was enough to get me interested. And I just saw...

Recommendation for 2022 EVs other than Tesla?

I'm in a similar situation, been exploring other evs but I keep coming back to tesla because other evs aren't as good. The problem I run into is that the cheaper evs aren't enticing enough to get me interested. I'd just rather not have a vehicle than drive a car that isn't fun to drive or have...
