Yes this is correct, a little annoying I guess but page 86 of the owners manual says "When you disconnect the trailer's electrical connection, Trailer Mode does not disengage automatically. To Manually engage or disengage Trailer Mode, touch CONTROLS > DRIVING > TRAINER MODE on the touchscreen."
