Snow, ice build up on Aero Covers?

Going on my 3rd winter with the aero covers; in West Michigan - decent amount of annual snow fall. Never thought about snow or ice build up. never had an issue.

Wipers activating unexpectedly, even on a bright sunny day.

This is one my probs with an M3. The auto wipers are a pain in rain and without rain. I keep my windows clean inside and out. And the wipers just think its seeing moisture when there is none and will wipe. Even in rain, the wipers come on way too frequently. At least Tesla added some delay...

What is the dumbest thing your Tesla does?

    1. Yes. Little variability. And auto wipes way too often. 2. I may have to contact Tesla if I should only have auto braking activated once or twice a year. But I think other experience it more as well (like on hills and curves). 3. I am not upset about the AP. I just wish it was fully hands...

What is the dumbest thing your Tesla does?

    1. Wiper timing is terrible. Especially with AP. 2. Close second. Random braking. Not as bad as when I first bought the car. But a year later it still occurs on a weekly basis. 3. More of a wish. I really want to be able to drive on the express with hands of the wheel. Just like my bros...

    Auto Pilot Hands Free

One thing I like about my 2022 LRM3 is the frequent improvements with updates. My car seems to improve with the updates. Notably, the AP. I dont have FSD, btw. However, I have a brother in law at GM and he is very engaged within the EV future there. He always as the GM self driving. He can...

Model 3 Review after 5 months

Yes. I have easy entry mode on. My point is that the steering wheel is very susceptible to scratches. Its very delicate for such a high contact/rub area of a vehicle. I agree on the mats. I do, however, think Tesla mats are uniquely even more terrible than other OEMs.

Model 3 Review after 5 months

I agree with your points as well. I plan to get all weather mats once I get into winter. For now, I make sure to reposition the mats regularly to avoid any issues. I agree positives outweigh the negatives. I did mention that I love it in my OP.

Model 3 Review after 5 months

Correct on wash mode. That is simple. Its the free roll part. I always have to try to get that activated a couple of times. I get it to work but it takes 2 or 3 attempts to get it to turn on. I have run it thru a car wash (Tommy's here in Grand Rapids) about 20 times at least. And I still...

Well scratch that negative point then. I thought nav would be extra. You can use spotify thru bluetooth as well? If you want to avoid the 99 per year alogether.

Steering Wheel Wear - Tears - Cuts

OP response here. Not tall. I am 5'10". I believe I keep seat a a normal distance. I definitely know I contact the steering wheel upon entry. I am going to have to look at easy entry. Never heard of it. My wife uses my car as well. I have made the M3 LR our primary car for errands. So...

Steering Wheel Wear - Tears - Cuts

My biggest grip is the robustness of the steering wheel. I notice small wear area about 7 and 8 o'clock on the outside of the steering wheel. I think when I slide into the seat, my leg and jacket hits the bottom of the wheel. A couple of my slacks have a zipper on the thigh area as well. I...

I had similar experience the day after I picked it up. Tesla gave me a loaner and recalibrated. Works fine now. Ask for a loaner car.

    Traffic aware cruise control behavior

2022 M3 LR new owner here. I drive 20 mile commute to work on mostly 2 lane roads; along with a stretch of 5 line road with a left turn lane. All 50-55 mph speed limits. 2 lane road with curves. The phantom stopping is very annoying. I would estimate the brakes are applied for no reason 20x...

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Placed post initially in delivery experience thread. Probably better here. About 2 weeks since my pick up. I thought I'd share my experiences so far. Tesla service has been good to work with. It’s a bit odd because Tesla really doesn’t want you to call them. Everything runs through the app...

Update on my delivery. OD 5/1/21. Pick up date was 2/14/22. They called me yesterday and asked if I wanted to pick it up this Saturday 2/12/22. Grand Rapids MI store. It is going to be quite cold on Saturday, high of 19 F. I asked about doing the delivery inside, in the service area...

I pick up my Tesla M3 next Monday 2/14. In Grand Rapids, MI store. Can anyone share their experience with delivery day at this location? Specifically: 1. Its going to be kinda cold. Is the pick up indoor or outdoor? I'd like some time to go over the car without freezing. But I will dress...

    My Tesla Charger Experience

The new main panel replacement was from an electrician less than a mile away. That wasnt for a Tesla charger. That was 10 years ago when I was installing a switch to connect my portable generator. We loose power during ice and wind storms. A generator is a necessity here. That is when I...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I received a text to schedule pick up date. I had a choice of 2/14-2/16. I took Monday the 16th at 6 PM, latest time slot. In summary, I received VIN on 1/31 and picking it up 2/14. Two weeks to ship and prep for West Michigan.

    My Tesla Charger Experience

You can see the black heavy gage wiring just left of the incoming conduit in the third pick. Funny thing, I noticed they didnt label the new locations as the charger. It currently is labeled as "dead". Because it used to be the circuit where our laundry was, before we moved it to the...

    My Tesla Charger Experience

In prep for my M3LR Feb delivery, I had an electrician install the $550 Tesla charger. Its 50A. He said to go to 60A would require thicker gage wiring, that is really not practical because increase is substantial (cost and more importantly diameter). This electrician company is a fairly large...

Update VIN was assigned yesterday (Sunday Night). I added to my insurance. And I am dropping of a check to the local Tesla Store today. They said it came off the line Friday and that it is the latest trim package (with the wrap around dash). They think its a week or so to get to Chicago...

Locking in a price in anticipation of the Federal Tax Credit

thanks for your experience. I will add that I notice what appears to be conflicting info on the credit/rebate situation. I do my own taxes. I opened my last return for 2020 that I filed in Spring of 2021. I am not an accountant. I have used HR Block software for 20 years. I added EV info...

Locking in a price in anticipation of the Federal Tax Credit

I ordered a Model 3 Long Range early in May, on an impulse. It is a bit out of my budget I thought. But, I think the overall cost may justify it. To be honest, I really just put the $100 down to dream about it and my local store gave me one for an overnight test drive. Absolutely love that...
