Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

Just wanted to say I've managed to set up 'smart solar charging'. So for others interested in doing so what I have is: 1. standard 15A power point with the Universal Mobile Charger. 2. An IotaWatt which amongst other things measures the entire house consumption and the solar production (it...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

Looks like the paramter is 'charging_amps'. Can't test it myself as the car is not updated yet but see the following details on the teslapy github. Add CHARGING_AMPS incl. yet unknown parameter name to README.md "Commands" table · Issue #36 · tdorssers/TeslaPy

What does the LR Acceleration Boost cost in Australia?

I believe 0-100 goes from 4.4s to 3.9s or something like that. It is available through the app after buying the car along with other software upgrades such as FSD and rear heated seats.

FSD v9.0 in Australia is just a con isn't it?

The FSD goes with the car to a new owner. You can't get a refund. You can't transfer FSD to another car you own.

    Connectivity package

I have continued to use the free tesla Spotify account with a hotspot after the expiry of premium connectivity. Only thing the hotspot doesn't do is the satellite images and congestion visualisations.

    Supercharger - Colac, Vic

Awesome, I notice this one is scheduled for Q3 2021. Is Elon actually delivering early?! As someone who lives in the South West this is going to make trips to Melbourne and back so easy now. Looking forward to Warrnambool being next in line.

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

I think the answer to this is yes they can make arbitrary laws. There is a well know law which was challenged in the high court often referred to as the 'Julian Knight Law'. Its an extreme example but if you check Section 74AA of the Corrections Act 1986 (Vic) you will see a law which applies to...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

I dug up some discussion on this point from Hansard if people are interested it can be found here: Dr RATNAM: Minister, what impact will registration leakage have as some EV opera - Pastebin.com In summary government says it has legal advice. Government will keep revenue generated from...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

It would be nice if this could be challenged, it is completely unfair. I'm sceptical though. I think it is actually relatively common to legislate against people while outside Victoria. For an extreme example at the federal level which has been tested in the High Court look at the Child Sex...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

The act definitely is worded that way. Here is section 6: 6 Extraterritorial operation (1) This Act applies within and outside Victoria to the full extent of the extraterritorial legislative power of the Parliament. (2) In particular, this Act extends to the use of ZLEVs outside Victoria...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

Interstate driving is not exempt. You are still taxed in Victoria for driving in NSW, Qld or even overseas. The only loophole is to claim you drove off-road or on a racetrack or your own private driveway. I wrote a longer post explaining this but it is held for moderation probably because I...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

Unfortunately that is not what I meant by covers. Below is the definition of 'specified road' directly from the bill as passed. specified road means— (a) a public road within the meaning of the Road Management Act 2004; or (b) a road related area within the meaning of the Road Safety Act...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

The new law covers KM travelled interstate. You can keep a log of travel on private roads and offroad and deduct that.
