Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

2021.4.18.3 no issue. Theor Well that was interesting. 575 Km, first half in daylight, second at night time. Daylight, no issues at all to report. Nighttime, - 6 or 7 phantom breaking occurrences. They mostly seemed to happen when car is about to go up a hill. Like road level in front is...

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

yes maybe, I am on 2021.4.18.3. I got the car on 2021.4.18.2 and therefore calibrated with this version. Maybe a good idea for people experiencing issues to recalibrate the sensors & cameras. Also wonder if some people played and screwed up their headlights ajustements too.

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

800Km in, I have yet to experience phantom braking. Nor any issue with AP, it is actually great in heavy traffic, even detecting idiots that cut in at the last second. Will do a 600Km trip this week, will have a larger sample.

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

Only 300 Kms in my new M3, but I have to say AP in stop and go traffic on the highway has been great. Yesterday was light rain and no issues. The system detected a car trying to get in in front of me and slowed down for it.

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

so the "no_radar" is a feature. Probably will get charged for it. They could have least tagged the feature "Super Duper Tesla Vision", it would have been more encouraging.

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

The whining is not about the loss of the secondary functionalities, it is about the real possible degradation of forward collision warning and emergency breaking... Like... do we need auto-highbeams for these features to work properly?

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Check if they added the MVPA document, right under the order agreement, it is a PDF which includes the VIN. That is the only place where mine is showing.

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

Very interesting. Forgot about flir imaging. Just did a quick google search and ended up on Teledyne: Thermal cameras for smarter cars and safer roads. Do we know if the 3 front cameras are all similar maybe one is an IR cam already.

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

Thinking about it a bit more, I`d speculate Tesla's issue is related to processing power and not the fact that they have issues with the logic itself. What does disabling lane keep assist has do to with radar removal? The processor doing predictions based on the images has to prioritize things...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

They are de-activating lane departure avoidance, a paid for safety feature, because the new system is not reliable yet. One thing that is intriguing me. It seems they will rely on machine learning with Tesla Vision, does that mean that for Tesla Vision to work the car needs to be online (to...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Ok, so reported delays due to firmware update are likely related. And now they are having issues and disabling features so deliveries can happen.

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I don't For me it is the same, I was June 8 -28, and now 8-12 weeks from order date which makes it June 6th 'till end of month. Read somewhere that Freemont started to receive LFP batteries. Also read that there has been weight increase in the canadian SR+ spec sheet lately which fits the...

2021 heated steering wheel Discussion thread

I've read a few times that the SR+ 2021 would have the option to pay to unlock the steering wheel heating in the latest builds. Has this come true yet?

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Ordering a new one says 4-11 weeks. However I just realized it is actually saying 8-12 weeks from order date, which gives exactly June 1st to June 30th. So it is not as bad as I initially imagined.

    Standard or LR?

If only it was only 9K$ I don't know the benefits in every jurisdictions, but, where I live, we get a 13K rebate from the gouvernement when acquiring an SR+. We get 0 from an LR, making the LR over 20K$ more expensive.
