Seeking Feedback from All Model S Owners…

    * Handles are supposed to pop out when I walk to the car... 10% of the time this does not work * You have to be careful closing the frunk and it always takes me a few tries. It's annoying when other people are doing it and I have to make sure they don't slam it * App takes a couple minutes to...

Must Read: The best battery management when cold.

I would like to add one tip from experience: * you should always preheat the car if you plan on driving more than 5 miles in the cold (~30F). If you don't preheat, the car will automatically heat up the battery while driving anyway, and while the battery is cold, the car is less efficient...

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

Some information in the app should be available without having to connect: *Location *Range These things don't change very much from the time you get out of the car to the time you get back.

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

I want to keep better track of my range. I wish I could take a snapshot of my current range, miles, temperature, time and have it stored in some sort of notes section so I can see how my range was affected. Right now I have to keep those notes on my phone.

    Charging at work

It seems like the infrastructure costs are a big chunk of the total cost. I'm trying to get a better sense of the price for the whole project. Seems like EVSEs are ~2k each and infrastructure can cost 10-20k... does that sound reasonable?

Any other data points for how much it costs to install the stations? Any opinions on Chargepoint vs Blink vs other companies? Thanks!

    Charging at work

Thanks for the great responses! Keep em coming It seems like charging users for the cost of electricity (~$1 per hour) would be a good idea for the employer... other employees won't get upset about EV drivers getting free fuel and the stations won't be overused by EV drivers trying to save...

    Charging at work

My company is thinking of installing charging stations. I was hoping people could post their experiences with charging at work. 1. Does the company charge you? How much? 2. How many stations are there compared to the number of EVs? Are there too many stations or too few? 3. What type of...

Poll: Does your Model S have the "High pitched Whine" under heavy acceleration?

Mine actually sounds like a siren. The first time I heard it I was taking some friends for a ride. We were cruising on the freeway and as soon as I had some space I warned my friends and then floored it. I felt that g-force feeling I'm sure you all know about. And then I practically pooped my...

Leaving my S unplugged at work

I don't own a garage and my daily commute is relatively short, so I've been going about a week between charging. I haven't had the car for too long though. My S85 came with 5.0 and I lose about a mile to vampire drain overnight and another mile during work.
