My 2022 Model X was hit back in March 2023 by a 26' U-haul truck. I was parked in the U-Haul parking lot, so my insurance determined the other driver to be 100% at fault obviously. It ended up being repaired for about $16k.
Initially, I went through the other guy's insurance (Mercury). They...
I’m so confused. I have a safety score of 91 and enough mileage. I’m being asked to install 36.6. FSDb is based on 36.15. I don’t really get if that would delay by beta invite or not. Reading conflicting opinions. Already waited so long.
I haven’t. We’ve just been kids road trip stuff down in the middle and will maybe put a cooler there once in a while. I’m going to skip the console idea because I want the flexibility to have nothing there too.
T-12 hours until delivery. I went in today after hours because I had to see if it was there and indeed it was. Walked right up to it, fully expecting misaligned panels. Nope, looked perfect. I was shocked.
Question for the group- I know there’s a lot of talk here about PPF. I’m torn. On one...
Me too. I thought it was just me. I was so amped for it last year. Even got a VIN this week. But I don’t know, something off putting about the wait and their treatment of customers lately and shady practices. Kind of lost the excitement. It also didn’t help that I got a Model 3 during that time...
Wow, the impossible happened. I got VINned!! 13+ months, which I know isn’t as long as some in here, but I thought the day would never come.
6/10/21, LR/6/Red/Black/20/FSD
VIN NF3549xx
Was told it’s still in production and not even done being built yet, but EDD updated to July 23-29.
Excited...
That is insane. Any update? What are they saying? Is the car still in transit, are you back in the queue all over again, or what? Brutal, especially if you're now accruing interest on that loan too and don't even have a car.
Ouch!! I hope not. I didn't know what to do with all the excitement and (probably foolishly) applied for a loan through my credit union. I know, I know.. wait for the VIN. But I also didn't want to lose the 2.49% with rates continuing to go up. Fingers crossed.
Ahh! I know you’re not supposed to get excited until VIN, but is this actually happening or Tesla playing with me again?! I’m right around 400 days in and it’s been showing Sep-Nov for a long time until this morning when it now says July 18-Aug 8. Is this usually a sign that a VIN is imminent or...
Lol, I would’ve if the price delta was a bit smaller. Not worth $30k extra to me though, plus the slight range hit. I’d definitely do it if it was a $10-15k difference though.
Man, it’s getting hard to stay patient. Going on 13 months now. I’m seeing a lot of people with later order dates getting VINs, or at least earlier EDD windows. Mine is still Sep-Nov.
Went into the SC and asked for an update. Lady did some digging around in the computer and says my car isn’t...
It was like $30k USD so should be about the same converted to CAD. I would definitely not go for it either. The price delta is huge and not worth IMO for 99% of people. Most are using this as a family car, not tracking it.
My response came off way harsher than it should have. I apologize for that and also apologize for misinterpreting the tone.
Anyway, I feel like this is becoming a distraction to the group so hopefully this will be my last response on the matter.
Then you completely missed my point.
I’m all for guys staying in here. Tons of people like Stro and others who added value after they got delivery. But I don’t remember anyone else talking down to others and mocking people about wanting their cars.
Nothing he said in his post was ground...
Definitely not. I apologize if my post made it seem that way to everyone who got theirs (not that it would matter anyway, I’m not an admin). That wasn’t my intention. It was only directed to that one individual who felt the need to write a book about this group’s collective reactions to the long...
Seriously, wtf is this pretentious bs? You got your car. Why are you even here and still reading? Does it make you feel better? You added no value. Move along.
And don’t try to explain things like we’re 5 and justify why we should or shouldn’t be feeling certain things. Your whole post comes...
I don’t get it either. Don’t care for either thing. As long as I can see the screen and the lights light up the road, good enough. Don’t care about the angles of either feature.
Have there been any 6 seater LR deliveries lately? Hitting my orderversary this week and it still feels hopeless. Been seeing mostly 5/7 seaters getting VINs now after the initial 6 barrage.
I always figured it would be about a year, but now that I’m here, it still doesn’t feel like it’s even...
Good! Red's already my favorite color, but I like it even more now as it makes my spec a bit more unique. Everyone around here in Sacramento seems to have a white Tesla (including our Model 3).
Stopped by at the SC yesterday and was told the same thing some of you are hearing. I saw about 6-7 refreshed X’s sitting there ready to go but the SA told me all X deliveries are on hold until the 15th per Tesla.
Did DCU rates go up? I thought it was 1.24%, but now I’m seeing 1.99% online and it says that the published rates include the direct deposit discount already. So does that mean 1.74% (after EV discount) is the lowest available out there right now?
That was the case up until a week or so ago when Tesla changed the policy. If you ordered after Aug 2021 I believe, you can do it right online without a base price change. If you ordered before that, you can email order support.
I ordered red/black but you guys are really making me have second thoughts about it. Considering going to white or cream now. Wife is on the fence now too. Black seems “safer”, white is starting to look appealing to us, and cream seems like a middle ground.
If it makes you feel any better, there was a video posted a few pages ago where someone got their LR less than a month after ordering. Believe it was just this past month.
June 2021 order. Red/black/6/FSD/20. Got a call from SC today saying my exact config became available, BUT in a 5 seater. It was exciting for a few seconds, and my heart was racing, but no way I would do a 5.
Back to the waiting game I go, but it’s nice to know I’m somewhere on the radar...
I don’t think they’ll map it to anything drastically different because that would require addressing changing the icon too (that would look really sloppy, even by Tesla standards and I doubt they’d bring back cars to replace that).
One thing I think they could easily do is map it to something...
I’m curious about this too. June order and we have a cruise coming up in June. With my luck, I’m dreading that they’re going to say it’s available when we’re in the middle of an ocean. I’ll swim if I have to.
I’m about to do the same. There’s never really an update and we all just waste our time here rehashing the same old thing.
But to answer your question, no not really. People started getting EDD’s that indicate a 4 day window. But IMO, it’s no better than “March.” They just roll the window...
Saw a Plaid, Red/white, 6, 22 at the Rocklin sc yesterday. Some lucky person is getting a delivery soon, if they didn’t already today.
White interior seems to be very popular and sought after, but I didn’t like it to be honest. I don’t like seeing the perforations so visibly on the white seats...
I thought of doing this before but I don’t want to risk them canceling my original order or forcing me to take the new one. I know it sounds stupid. But look at who we’re dealing with (Tesla). They make up random things as they go. I don’t want to take any chances. I suppose it could be done...
Everyone that keeps replying to @Maybe22’s “who else”, they asked about pre-refresh orders. Everyone keeps replying with random orders from late Jan and March lol.
Has anyone in Northern CA, but outside the Bay Area taken delivery of the LR refresh? I’m practically down the street from Rocklin but just changed my delivery center to the factory. The lady on the phone, of course, told me that’s not going to make a difference and they don’t prioritize Fremont...
I agree with Bruce and would vote for no EDD posts. Who really cares. We all know they’re totally meaningless and it’s especially annoying when everybody starts replying “same” and “moved to March” for several pages at a time. And days later, it’s still happening. I mean there are people here...
About $12k. $11k in 10.25% sales tax. Then another $1k in DMV registration (ours is based on vehicle value).
And then you’ll pay the TX tax again when you transfer it back.
I know we’re going way off topic here (but what else can we do right now). I’m from CA. I like it. If you’re from TX or another state and like it, that’s great too. But what I never get is how people outside CA, especially those who’ve never lived here, think they know everything about here...
Nope, Bay Area sales tax is around 10%, depending on where you live because there’s also county and city taxes in addition to state. Fremont, for example, is 10.25% total. Palo Alto doesn’t have a city tax portion so they are a bit under 10.
When you say increase in charging speed, it’s not really charging any faster. It’s delivering the same amount of amps. The higher “speed” you see is just the more efficient motor getting more miles out of the same amount of electricity.
