Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

That’s one of what I think of as minor irritations I see as well, and it doesn't seem to matter whose phone is used to unlock the car.

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

I guess I didn’t notice it when we had no signal in that case. It’s still a retrograde step for when WiFi needs to be manually joined, and I still don’t see how it's better to hide the icon most of the time.

    Snippiness 2.0

Knowing when the signal is back to try to start streaming music is a pretty obvious reason to me, but WTF is being done with the space the signal indicator used to occupy that moving it was an improvement? And what about connecting to WiFi which is now buried in a menu? Stop being such a Tesla...

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

LTE doesn’t work for sections of the Desert Road and points South from there. Car is crap at connecting to WiFi also. Two instances where it does not “just work”. Given the space vacated by the LTE signal indicator has been used for absolutely nothing I stand by it being a retrograde step. To...

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

Just arrived in Taupo from Welly after the first drive with v11. I totally agree on the blind spot positioning, especially for me as a hand controls driver as my wireless accelerator doo-dad sits on the back of my left hand and totally blocks the image, especially indicating left. I also don’t...

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

2021.36.5.6 - hasn't the image of the car both parked and in the visualiser changed? It looks much more shadowy or contrasty. Also it picked up some road markings this morning that neither of us think it has picked up before. With 2021.36.5.5 I had to use the Monty Python Easter egg to get the...

    Theater apps and Karaoke missing

    And me. Thanks!

    Terrible Customer Service

We got ours on Tuesday past. I'm certainly not suggesting that is bad in any way - they didn't have to honour a price reduction that took effect after (even if only by one day) we took delivery of the car, so getting it at all is actually great customer service.

    Terrible Customer Service

Nice to hear you got that refund, ours has not arrived yet, but shouldn't be far away. Our car is stuck in Auckland having hand controls fitted so who knows when we'll see it again now...

    Terrible Customer Service

There are two status options for Current Inventory cars. “In Auckland”, which I haven’t seen since mid June, presumably means in the showroom. My experience with the other “in transit” status is that the car was physically in NZ, just awaiting preparation for sale; Tesla was pretty open about...

    US Tesla in NZ?

Maybe it does better than I would expect then, which is good to hear. much as I’d like to I won’t be trying it until (unless?) we get the subscription option in NZ.

    Terrible Customer Service

We ordered ours from available inventory the (Sun)day the subsidy was announced. Given how many available cars came through across a number of specifications since then I had casually wondered out loud to my wife if they were marrying build to order cars up with available inventory if the...

    US Tesla in NZ?

This is the only response that matters. I don't claim to remember all the conditions by any means, but to be able to be registered as a LHD vehicle here it would need to be unavailable in RHD form (anywhere in the world), relatively low volume and interesting / collectible - basically they are...

How many Tesla's in New Zealand

The insurance cost subject came up because I speculated fleet managers may see the insurance as a reason not to go with Tesla, so if some companies charge more that would definitely be a problem for any fleet manager who uses one of those companies. In terms of how insurance companies set their...

How many Tesla's in New Zealand

I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than drive any of the examples you use, so I can't speak from experience of those, but what I can say is than none of them are comparable in performance, though logically that should make them cheaper to insure. What I do know is that I could have insured our...

    Model S Plaid Insurance

OT response, but yes; it's getting better. New Plymouth is getting Supercharges soon I believe and there are enough that we have driven our SR+ from Auckland to Welly and back with zero stress. It's hardly the density I see on other countries' maps yet though.

How many Tesla's in New Zealand

I'm not sure I see how Tesla discounting the M3 for fleet buyers is a benefit to private Tesla owners in NZ, so I'm pretty happy fleet managers don't want them, personally. Also consider that - Tesla insurance is ludicrously high in NZ compared to other cars of similar value and performance...

    Model S Plaid Insurance

Oh absolutely - everything I have / had is insured, but there is the option to just say "I won't bother" which shifts the power in price negotiation a bit. I have to say I'm surprised by those Tesla figures. Our M3 SR+ is close to £1k equivalent - admittedly it's effectively any driver, even...

I believe the bottom of Ngauranga Gorge somewhere.

    Model S Plaid Insurance

Although I'm in NZ now I'm from the UK, and I insured - let's go with "a number" - of high performance cars before I left. What I found as I worked my way through the ranks from what I could afford as a 17 year old, through French hot hatches (and while they were still good enough, I went back...

    Model 3 NZ Insurance Quotes

We went with Vero, having cross-shopped them with State who were close to $800 cheaper but excluded all glass out of hand. A few years ago I almost had a windscreen claim denied on a VW with cameras in the screen, which would have cost me $2,500. That was picked up on the motorway heading into...

    SR+ down to $66,900 now! LR $82,900, Perf $95,900

Maybe we did collect at the same time - we were there around 3pm on 9th July picking up one of three white cars that were ready to go. We then saw one of the three - with a plate just one digit different to ours - at Mangaweka Supercharger on Saturday as we overnighted in Taupo to break the...

    SR+ down to $66,900 now! LR $82,900, Perf $95,900

First time poster. I wasn't super excited to see the above news on Sunday morning having just arrived in Welly the evening before with the SR+ we collected in Auckland on Friday, however at 2:39 this afternoon Tesla emailed us asking for bank details so they could refund us the $3,000 price...
