Random 'Bogey alerts' for parked vehicles drastically increased in 2024.3.15

There is one vehicle parked on the side of the road in my neighborhood against the curb on a left curve that always alerts and turns red in the visualization. Since I updated to 3.15, these false alarms have gotten much more frequent and with nothing obvious in common to cause them. Driving on a...

Question about wheels for M3P 2018

The short answer is no, not all 18" wheels will clear the caliper, and they also need to accept the unique hub (there is a thread about someone who put wheels on that weren't cut for the hub and it was a nightmare trying to get them off). There are a couple of really good threads on the Driving...

    FSD experience

Does anyone know how to decrease the following distance on the highway? It used to be a left/right right-scroll wheel adjustment but that doesn't seem to work any longer. It leaves a pretty substantial gap to the vehicle in front in the current iteration.

    Window Tinting advice needed

I did 35% all around and 70% on the windshield because the SoCal summer sun can get roasting and it rejects most of the UV. I was hesitant to do the windshield at all, but 70% is still usable at night. I would not go any darker. I didn't get the roof glass tinted as it's pretty dark already, but...

    adizon's M3P build thread

Nice car history. My dad had a '77 VW Rabbit that I learned to drive stick in, and that was a FUN little box. You definitely know how to take a good pic so looking forward to seeing this one evolve. My M3P only has forged rims and some cosmetics, but definitely planning on some suspension work...

Model 3 RWD got beat by an Audi turbo

My 1987 Honda Civic 1.5L I4 fit this profile. Still with a little suspension work and some sticky rubber it was stupid fun to toss around in the hills. :)

To DIY or not to DIY? Front Camera Replacement: Fisheye and Narrow Cam Dropped Frames

I noticed the glass in front of mine is looking pretty grungy. Did you find a tutorial for removing the trim, or just go at it with a set of trim tools?

    Car hit while parked.

It's always hard to tell from a single photo, but I don't see any bent metal or broken plastic. PDR + paint and a new taillight might get you right for a few $K.

    First road trip coming up

Unless you're driving 60-65, expect your range to suffer and you'll be charging more often than you thought. This is also affected by temperature and terrain also of course. I did a multi-day trip up and down the west coast and planned to charge every 200-220 miles (rated range 300). Also I...

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

Interesting, I'm in a tesla-heavy area of SoCal and only the newest 3s have amber signals. 90% of the Ys do of course. Funny story, I was in the bay area over the holidays and saw an older 3 that had done the amber tail swap but not reprogrammed, so the turn signals came on with the brake lights. ;)

2023 Model 3 Passenger side rear quarter panel dent

I had a hard time even seeing the dent, so yeah, I think it's probably a good candidate for PDR.

Model 3 with FSD on Road Trip

I subscribed to FSD for a thanksgiving road trip from the L.A. area to Portland/Seattle. It worked fine on the highway, but I did have a few occasions where it wanted to jump to a faster lane in front of fast-approaching traffic, and I had to cancel the lane change with the stalk. I finally set...

Electric fry sound and screen goes black

I just had an interesting one. I got in to drive and started playing my phone through bluetooth. It was crackly and staticy and dropping out every ten or so seconds, when I would hear a faint buzz from the rear of the car before the crackly sound came back on. I tried different sources (Spotify...

  19. DocHolliday

Can anyone help me with these 2 problems please ?

I'm pretty sure that means your car already has EAP, but the hardware doesn't support FSD, auto lane change etc. You need the hardware upgrade to enable those features.

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

AFAIK there is no difference. The car sends a 'braking' signal to the appropriate wire when you apply the brakes or when regen is active, and the three brake lights illuminate.

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

I just replaced the inners on mine (since I got a full set of takeoffs from a 2023 M3P). I pulled the pins and placed them in the four pin plugs per the posts upthread. To my eye they look and function identically to the old ones, so I would skip that step if I had it to do over. Still need to...

Bumped garage door frame, $5k repair

    2023 Model 3SR 1000 mile review

I'm surprised you're having so many issues with Autopilot. It's gotten much better over the years I've had mine. It used to be terrible at maintaining distance in stop-and-go traffic. It would come up on stopping/slowing traffic too fast then have to brake hard to slow down or stop, so much so...

    Having trouble with Ubertine rims

There are a number of threads on aftermarket rims, mostly in the Driving Dynamics forum. I replaced them with 19" forged rims that are designed for the M3P brakes and hub, and a slightly wider/taller tire for more protection. No issues since.

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

Mine's a 2021 with ~15K miles, so similar usage. I use the frunk almost every day and so far no issues <knock wood>. No battery issues either. It must be incredibly frustrating to have things go the way they are for Durzel. One thing I have noticed is that the app no longer seems to work to...

Ordering my new baby. What should I watch out for upon pickup? What accessories would you get right away?

Truth. I still have the mudflaps I never installed. I just don't mind the slight wear from debris on the lower fender quarters enough to bother. :) The center console organizer was a must for me though - I use it every day. Oh, and the power frunk kit - after living without it for a while that...

Looking at 2023 Model3 LR. Tell me why I should/shouldn't do it.

In your situation I would say go for it. Also you may want to consider adding a wall charger or a 14-50 plug at home at some point. That's the cheapest way to charge for most people (other than free/subsidized charging at work).

Cleaner/protectant for 'vegan leather' steering wheel?

What is everyone using? I have mostly had leather-wrapped steering wheels in the past, so not sure my favorite leather conditioner is the best thing. What do you use/recommend?

Two Weeks with a Model 3 Performance

Performance hit the sweet spot for me, but IMO the first upgrade is ditch the stock uberheavies. I went with a fully-forged 19" and 245/45 tires for more sidewall/rim protection/nicer ride.

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

If you have a 2021 refresh or newer, it's a straight swap but without an update to the configuration your amber signals will light up with the brake lights.

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

That's what I have been running for about 7K miles. They are solid performers, a little noisier than the foam-lined models and really sure-footed in the wet. I find they slip a bit more than i would have thought when pushed hard in dry conditions. They seem to be wearing really well so far. When...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

I just noticed that my Sentry Mode seems to have stopped working. I was parked at a ballgame and came back to no Sentry alerts at all despite a bunch of people walking past my front end all night. I didn't think much of it at the time but then today I came out to my car at work and there was...

    Tesla for teenager?

I think I would want my kids to learn on a vehicle without all the driver assist features, so they can be more engaged and vigilant.
