    Clear glue for headlight crack?

Oh, my bad ... In this case ... new headlights lens are needed I guess (waaaayyy cheaper than the full headligts units): An example from ebay ... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185824870142

    Clear glue for headlight crack?

After using fillers/glue products on acrylic there is a need for a polishing in order to restore the original shine. There are various procedures available for that, but there is no way you could glue acrylic material and then obtain a shiny, perfectly transparent surface.

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

Glad you're OK and the only car damage was the felt piece. The cost of the plastic aero shield per Tesla's quote was 1339sek (before tax), meaning around USD 125$. The part number is: FRONT AERO - LWRT (1499151-00-C)

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

The car went to service on June 7th .. it was probed and tested until ~June 10th when it was put to rest in their parking area, with 20% charge, waiting for the new battery. I was seeing it slowly losing charge, about 1% every 3 days when, suddenly, on the morning of June 30th I saw it in the...

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

Definitely not 6cm in diameter .. much larger. It was laying down in a sort of parallelepipedal form and the lowest point on the front driving train of the car touched it making it tumble ... so I got hit with its edges on the underbody of the car (you could actually see lines of impact, not...

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

All done. Car was ready last week, on last day of June. A couple more days for the insurance to solve the payment. All good. I'm waiting for my OBD dongle to read the BMS but using the consumption screen calculations I can see an usable capacity of 79Kwh on the new battery. Also, the aero...

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

Updates: the insurance gave the OK for the "repairs" (meaning the new battery). Tesla said "OK, now we wait. We will call you when the car is ready, between 2 weeks and 2 months" ... I'm speechless!

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

The dent depth tolerance is 8mm on these 82kwh packs (according to the tehnician). I have 4 dents from that debris tumbling under the car. The deepest one apparently exceeded 8mm :( There was an air leak test performed on the battery (and it came out correct) and and also a controlled discharge...

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

An update of the situation - the service gave the verdict - new battery needed :( It will be fixed on the insurance, but just for info - there are 2 possibilities: 1. refurbished battery (wit at least the same remaining capacity as the current one,or better): ~9000 EUR (without VAT) -...

Underbody of the battery bent from impact

Hi all. Today was a sad day for me. I hit a piece of ... something ... laying on the highway, while changing lanes (at roughly 85km/h - slow speed zone). The impact was very loud, with the sound coming from the underbody and the car felt like "jumping" a little. This is the metallic piece in...

I have ceramic treatment on my windshield - I rarely need to use the wipers (and when I'm using them are always in manual mode since the auto mode is basically worse than any car I owned so far). I understand (and support) maintaining a single code branch for anything - but while you have a...

The idea was not for you to go and buy a 3D printer just for that. There are a lot of enthusiasts out there that can do that for you at the expense of just the filament used plus a coffee. No need for chemical solvents. A glass polish applied manually or with a polisher will remove it in 5-10 minutes. I'm applying ceramic treatment to all my glass surfaces on my own (just buying off amazon) and I face no issue whatsoever - just do not mention it to the service people.

MASTER THREAD: Auto Wiper functionality, complaints, praise, etc.

In the 3 last cars, including the current Model 3 I used ceramic coatings for the windshield which makes the need of wipers kind-of redundant, especially at speeds above 50Km/h. At slow speeds I use manual controls every now and then. The ceramic coating is a life saver. I agree that the auto...
