Model Y Basic Car Wash Advice Needed

I use ONR rinse-less wash only for basic washes. If it's too dirty, I will take it to a hand car wash. Takes me less than 10 minutes to wash my car. 1. Pre-spray with ONR with a pump spray and wait a few minutes. 2. Use two gallons of distilled water with ONR and wipe the car down with a...

    Model Y bumper corner scratch

Ouch. Did you have PPF? Did you scrape a wall? I gave up trying to fix it myself and spent $1000 and had my bumper repainted.

Hard to say. How old is your car? Looks like some substance was on it. Was it parked to a heater or something very hot? I would take it to a Service center.

Model Y 19'' ProContact RX factory tire in Tahoe: will it be OK?

No need to get dedicated winter tries if you are driving in the snow occasionally. Winter tires are not safe in warm weather because they wear out VERY fast. It's also a hassle to swap out tires just for an occasional trip. All-season tires are really 3-season tires because they turn to ice...

Keep Tire Pressure Sensors with New Tires?

Those TPMS sensors are designed to last for YEARS. Either they work or they don't. If it fails in the future, just buy a new one. No need to replace them now. They are still pretty new.

Rough Estimate for Cost/Time of Repairs On Bumper + Rear Quarter Panel Damage?

Go through a Tesla Collision center for an estimate. Do NOT agree to bypass their insurance. You are opening a can of worms. The individual hit your car and took off. What makes you think he will cooperate with you directly?

    No PPF....Are you Happy?

But my premiums will go up if I file a claim. I think like $50 a month. So I'm going to fix it for $1000 and won't put PPF on it.

    No PPF....Are you Happy?

I kind of regretted getting PPF for my front bumper. It was $700. I just scraped my front bumper and the damage was $1000 to the bumper. The PPF has to be removed for repairs. So it's costing me $1700 instead of $1000. I might not put in PPF after the repairs. Like you guys said, it's...

    Model Y bumper corner scratch

I just got a quote from a Tesla shop for $1200 to repair. $200 just to remove the ppf. I tried using some touch up paint but it looks really bad. Also tried sanding it down a little and now got a haze around the spot. Here are my options. 1. Pay out of pocket. $1200 for repair + $700...

    Model Y bumper corner scratch

Peeled off the ppf. Good news, it was mostly ppf damage. Only one spot that is about half an inch. Estimates range from $125-$500. I have the OEM touch up paint. Should I just do it myself?

    Model Y bumper corner scratch

Is it cheaper to replace or repair a front bumper?
  22. U

    Model Y bumper corner scratch

I peeled off the ppf near the heavily damaged area. The deep scratch looks like it hit the primer. The white long scratches look like it's ppf damage and the paint underneath should be ok.
  23. U

    Model Y bumper corner scratch

I just noticed a big scratch in the left corner scratch of my front bumper. It does have PPF so the damage might have been more severe without it. Does it look like it was a scrape from another car or a wall? I checked my sentry videos and haven't found anyone hitting my car in the past...

Fair price for PPF + Ceramic?

No point of ceramic coating because it will wear off in a few years. If your car gets in a crash or gets damaged, the coating needs to be applied again. Just use graphene ceramic spray and it will last about a year. I pay a mobile detailer $175 for wash, clay, and graphene coat. If I do that...

Michelin Pilot All Season 4 thoughts

Michelin Pilot "Three" season 4. No such thing as all-season tires because they all turn to hockey pucks when the temperature is near freezing. You should look into "All-Weather" tires that don't freeze like the Vredestein Quatrac Pro or Toyo Celsius. They can be used year round.

Plastidip Gemini vs plastidip Gemini covers

I would just DIY and paint the wheels. Won't cost you more than $100 with paint and supplies. It's not harder than you think, just follow the youtube tutorials.

    Bumper only PPF and ceramic

I only have a front PPF bumper on my Model Y. No need for ceramic coating. It's a waste of money. It won't protect you from inevitable chipping.

I would spray paint it myself. Won't cost you more than $100. It's not that difficult if you follow instructions on youtube. That's what I am planning to do with my gemini wheels. There is a shop in the OC that does swaps with powder-coated gemini wheels. You come in and they will swap it...

19" Gemini [Mostly Winter] Tire Replacement - Vredestein Quatrac Pro?

You should look into the Toyo Celsius. They perform better in snow than the Quatrac Pros. I'm strongly considering getting the Toyos.
  42. U

Induction vs. Gemini Ride Quality & Winter Driving

Get the all weather Toyo Celsius tires on gemini wheels. They perform very well in snow. The Vredsteins are OK in snow.

All-Weather Tyres for Model Y with 19" Wheels

I did a lot of research on all weather tires for the Model Y. The Toyo Celsius performs the best on snow and icy conditions. Wintrac Pros does not do so well in snow/ice. I'm seriously considering the Toyo Celsius for my Model Y.
