Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - 7400 Las Vegas Boulevard South

Yeah, don't like that route either. Sunset and LVB is torn to hell right now, but if you turn in to Town Square at the main light to Town Square you avoid that. Even so, not worth it enough to change my opinion due to heading west after charging.

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - 7400 Las Vegas Boulevard South

I sit in line sometimes because (1) it doesn't bother me, (2) driving over to Eastern through the airport area kind of annoys me, (3) I head west after charging, so going to Eastern takes me out of the way. I guess, in short, what I'm saying is you're making some assumptions about people that...

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas Blvd. South

The construction has expanded, and it looks like it's just part of some roadwork being done. I'm not even sure the Rivian charger will be in this same part of the parking lot.

2022 Model Y 4680 Structural Pack is "Amazing", Says Munro & Associates

I don't think he definitively answered the question. But since they're pulling out all of the 4680 cells individually, they should be able to weigh each one and verify if they are identical or not.

2022 Model Y 4680 Structural Pack is "Amazing", Says Munro & Associates

No, all good. I totally respect the additional context. I do think the EV1 was revolutionary for the time. I have three quibbles I have with your comment is (1) that in the early 2000's there was no business case for EVs, (2) what was "technically possible at the time", and (3) the timing of the...

2022 Model Y 4680 Structural Pack is "Amazing", Says Munro & Associates

Can you imagine where we'd be if GM hadn't treated the EV1 as a complete joke? That's 25 of the last 50 years right there!

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas Blvd. South

Warning: total speculation here. I don't know how to check permits. There is construction underway near this supercharger. Could be V3 (V4?), could be an expansion, or, uhh, could just be some roadwork. This work is fairly new, though, within the last few days. To speculate further, I'd guess...

2022 Model Y 4680 Structural Pack is "Amazing", Says Munro & Associates

Just a random addition to the thread (I searched first but didn't see this mentioned, but I haven't read every post in this thread, so I apologize if this has already been mentioned). If you want your very own 4680 cell, Munro is selling them for only $800 / each. Gotta hand it to them. Buy a...

how is Supercharger wait time determined?

You raise interesting points, but at the same time, the system doesn't have to be perfect to be helpful. They don't have to assume that all cars in the area are heading for one particular charger. It could be machine learning, like lots of other parts of the system.

how is Supercharger wait time determined?

I hadn't considered that they could be using nav data as well -- smart. Probably some combination of these, and if they're not using them all now, some future software version will. Although nav data doesn't (really) impact the wait time "now". If it says "medium wait" and I'm first in line, it...

how is Supercharger wait time determined?

This thread will likely have a lot of speculation and little concrete information, so it's perfect for this forum ;-). For the short, medium, and long wait notice for Superchargers, is that based solely on the number of cars plugged in + expected charging time, or is it also based on the number...

I have two question - Highly gratefull in advanced for answering. Ty

In reading this, it could be inferred that you can use a 48A charger in a NEMA 14-50 outlet. (I am not saying you are actually saying this, just that to me it's not clear.) However, you should definitely NOT charge at 48A in a NEMA 14-50. Yes, 48 is less than 50 (and 50 means 50A), for...

Regenerative braking saved me from 2 accidents today

I wonder if we'll see the same number of collisions overall, just transferring the Tesla hitting to car in front to the Tesla being struck from behind? Of course, in most cases, being rear-ended is better than rear-ending someone else, since the liability will be on the car hitting you. (And I...

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - W Flamingo Road (closed / removed)

It's in the nav, and it's still open. Not sure what the motivation behind the 72kw is...it might be older, repurposed gear. At first, I thought it looked permanent, but I didn't really take a close look at the stations. In the photo, they sort of look temporary. There has been some conduit work...

Save Video from View Live Camera?

From my Android, is there a way to capture a video clip if I'm watching the Sentry Mode live camera? As in, have it saved on the USB drive in the car, not have to transferred to my phone.

Because there are destination chargers in that lot as well?

Loud wind noise coming from roof on freeway?

I think there's a distinction between "normal" wind noise and "annoying" wind noise. Any car going 70 will have some noise, especially in high or cross winds. This (to me) is a noise that's consistent, not varying in volume or pitch. It might be very low, to the point where it's not really...

    Master Thread: 3 Delivery experiences

Forever, traditional dealerships have been called stealerships. They're all the same, so no, sales don't fall, because there are no other options. Let's not pretend like the existing model is great. It's just the one we're used to. It's terrible. Haggling, going to talk to the "sales manager"...

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - South Eastern Avenue

Ohh, interesting. Usually the dot (at least from the Tesla site) is just where "Las Vegas" is (close to City Hall). This one is different than that, but close to "McCarran Marketplace". Weird.

    abetterrouteplanner.com "not drivable"

I'm having a weird issue with A Better Route Planner and wanted to know if anyone else has seen this. I did a trip route from Las Vegas to Red Rocks Amphitheater with a starting charge of 65%. Got a route no problem. Then I realized I wanted to see my actual arrival time, so I set the...
