Yes thats it. Integral garage and connector located where the car can only be charged inside is the only time you don't need a earth rod or PEN device. Makes sense as the car is essentially no different to the metal clad light switch or socket a garage will likely have.

PEN fault device isn't required for an internal garage installation. I forgot to mention I'm also getting a battery so will charge that in addition to the hot water from solar.

So you're okay with them taking up two chargers then? You'd be quite happy to wait whilst there is a perfectly serviceable supercharger that you can't access because a car is in its designated parking space. If they other cars fit, fair enough. If they don't fit, tough.

Well they could pick the charger at the end for a start. But in any case if it doesn't fit in the designated space then quite frankly tough.

Already pictures of ignorant Ioniq cars plugged into the wrong charger for the space they're parked in because their charge port is on the wrong side. Stupidity.

How does it determine whether the power from the inverter is coming from solar or the battery though? I understand the solar can be fed back to the grid (if my car isn't being charged) but whats to stop the battery feeding the grid?
