Just got my car back and they replaced the penthouse perimeter seal. I can still hear the high pitched noise when medium to hard accelerating but no longer when decelerating. Overall it's probably reduced about 75% at cruising speeds.

Agree. My first Model Y was completely silent but my new performance Y literally leave my ears in pain. I will let you know what repair the service center attempts and if it works later this week.

Thanks for the response. It’s at the service center. They agreed it’s not normal and said it can be the penthouse seal, drive unit or contractors. I think he said contractors can’t be repaired if that is the issue.

Have any of you guys attempted to remove the back seat and add sound deadening foam or panels to reduce the noise. I noticed when I fold my back seats down the noise is reduced some what. I have an appointment next week at the SC. My last Model Y never made a sound.

So if the seal is installed properly then you won't see it at all?

Did you ever get the seal replaced? If so did it stop the noise?
