They did cancel at least one person's order that I saw. I ordered 8/28 and asked for a 60 day hold in November which lasted 30 days before I got cancellation email. My EDD is still Feb-Mar so can't complain.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Most people it seems have been forced to come off hold. If you've received a VIN then you're likely at the front of the line.

I've heard of them doing this even a year ago. The example I heard was they offered to fix everything in an appointment or cancel the order.

when does your hold date expire? Mine expires on the January 15th and just got the email about click "I'm Ready" before December 9th. I talked to a local SA and he recommended clicking "I'm Ready" on December 8th and he still estimated a Jan-Feb delivery date. Not sure if I trust that though.

The house bill no longer has it as retroactive. The language is paraphrased as "the later of 1/1/2022 or date the bill is signed." There is absolutely no way it will be a retroactive credit. They are trying to reduce the size of the bill so it makes no sense to make it retroactive.
