Lease option for Model 3? 35k Version ready in March?

My box used to automatically reset to "February" even when I checked off March. Over the last couple days it has changed itself to March. I received invite to configure premium LR in first batch back in November.

    SS Roadster AutoX Setup

Yeah I freaked out a little bit on my first spin. And I'm nervous about PEM/Battery already, but oh well. Ok I'll stick with your 205 recommendations and the RE71Rs. AX6s in the back - are you going to keep EBCs up front? I sold my 2004 MazdaSpeed Miata after buying this Roadster... but I...

    SS Roadster AutoX Setup

Thank you again for all the tips. Had a nice weekend at autocross school and getting some good times. Definitely agree on the early brake, release, and then punch it when lined up. I really need to get new tires and a front sway bar. I'm tempted to get the RE71-Rs, but I also know the new...

Holding on to your Roadster. . .

It has 88K+ miles now, and usually standard charge is 168-169. I've only range charged once, and it got up to 213. I'll add in the data

Holding on to your Roadster. . .

Just to add a data point: I just bought #518 for $35K with 87,000+ miles. Its the lowest price I've seen (which is why I snatched it up), but also the highest mileage of those for sale.

    Missing Roadsters

Yeah car is awesome but have limited garage space. Testing out market since if price that high could mean large profit. One of my cars will have to go when the 3 comes - itll be whichever one I can make the most money on. If all else fails I'll keep it as my autocross car :)

    SS Roadster AutoX Setup

Hey there fellow SCCA member! I’m running my Roadster in SS now :) Why did you go with 245R 205F? Doesn’t that cause understeer? I heard RE71Rs like 28-34 PSI hot. Why go with regular recommended higher PSI? Sorry for all the questions - you are the only one i can ask! Lol. As you know at the...

    2010 Roadster 2.0: $47,200

2010 Tesla Roadster Lowest price on the market. Higher mileage, but recently had annual service and checked over by Tesla - all good. Only 12v fault, which they replaced. Standard trickle charge to 169 miles.

How long does it take to get a drivetrain replacement??? so frustrated!!

Weird. I had my DU replacement at 37K miles maybe a month ago. Got it back in three days. Maybe they had an extra, or maybe because I'm in California?

Every Other Day, Daily or Twice Daily Charging?

Everyone needs to remember that while you are plugged in, the car is also not using the battery for the warming/cooling thermal management. This means the car is not putting any more cycles on your battery packs - it is getting that energy directly from the wall. Cycling the battery more...

Autopilot Retrofit on Classic P85 - Done by wizkid057!

WK057... amazing man. Really impressive. How on earth did you get the firmware/software update? All you say is "I spent several hours getting the firmware and calibrations working.... After a bit more work with calibrations and firmware, everything was in order." Does this mean you already...

Transferability of reservations to immediate family

According to the reservation agreement you can transfer with prior written approval by Tesla. I'm guessing they would be OK with relatives, but then I heard other rumors that due to some law it can only be a transfer to a spouse in california. I'm not sure if that is true, but you should be...

Purchase advice needed, 70d new or preowned 85d

Yes I'm aware of both those. All the kids I've seen love the backseat - it is pretty cool. And yes I'm aware of the charging, which is why I qualified it with 2+ supercharger stops. What I said lines up with exactly what you said.
  16. D

Purchase advice needed, 70d new or preowned 85d

Your kids will love the backseat, so there's that. There are different battery packs with (supposedly, I don't think anyone really knows) potentially different chemistry/setup. I have a "B" pack from 2014, but I think they are up to "D" or "E" at this point (not sure). In general, I think...

Purchase advice needed, 70d new or preowned 85d

Are you going to use the third row? Do you drive a lot on a daily basis? The 85D is going to be a little fast, it'll charge a little fast as well, and of course it has more range. You may want to ask what battery packs they each have to see if the 70D has a newer version. $8K is a lot of...

When Do You Open Your Roof?

I use mine almost daily - granted, I live in SoCal where it is 60-85 nearly year long. If the sun is out, I probably have it open unless it is early morning and chilly (and by that, I mean So-Cal chilly... which is like 60 degrees lol). I don't use mine on the highway, but I do use it on...

    Any owners with big dogs?

I toss my yellow lab in the trunk, with parcel shelf above her so she doesn't try to jump up to the second row or scratch anything. She doesn't like it (she prefers hanging out of the windows - that wont happen in the Tesla), and I certainly don't keep her in there for more than 5-10 mins as I...

    Car Wash For Tesla

    Blasphemy! Burn the witch!
  21. D

Do you plan to reserve a Model 3?

I definitely want one... I'm just not sure if I can give up our current Model S for it. The wife also wants a Model X, and I don't think I can convince her that I need a Model S and a Model 3 before she gets her Model X. Not that I need two cars in the first place.... but I want! It would be...

    Car Wash For Tesla

+1 to recommendations here. First of all, I had CQuartz Finest (similar to OptiCoat Pro) put on the car for an extra (minor) clear coat layer with high gloss. If I don't have time to wash myself, I'll take the car through a touchless car wash - then take it home and detail with no-rinse...

    Rubber/plastic floor mats

I've been waiting on floor mats from Tesla for 1+ month now, with no end in sight. No one can tell me when they will come in. Tesla service has told me not to use my driver's side floor mat because it'll push up under the pedals. I'd also appreciate any ideas on this subject. Cheers

WARNING: I rear-ended someone today while using Auto Pilot in my brand new P90D!

I cant use the "2" distance either. I use at least 4+, although granted it doesn't make much of a difference at speeds under 20mph.
  27. D

CPO: budget for either AP or P85 - what would you chose?

AP for sure - the tech is too cool. A 60/70 is still pretty fast, and will still give you a big grin at launch. Keep in mind that Tesla supposedly updates little things on the car every week/month. The older P85 is going to have some differences. Minor things I can think of (depending on...

    Battery Degradation for a 60

Another data point: I have a (just over) 1 year old S60. 26K+ miles. B battery pack. Last 100% charge a few weeks ago got up to 198 miles, but I drove for a good 3-4 miles before any drop. I 100% charge maybe once every month or two, but daily charge to 80-90%. Also roughly 10K of the...

for the owners of green teslas

I have nothing really to add, just wanted to join in saying I have a 2014 Green S60 with autopilot AND factory paint armor... the ultimate rare green. So rare, I'm sure it's worth $150K :-P That plastidip actually looks pretty damn good
  30. D

Recommended Paint Protection Process for new Pearl White???

Paint correction (if needed), followed by CQuartz Finest, followed by a clear bra paint cover of some kind (I have Tesla Paint Armor, but that is no longer available) on the front bare minimum. I also have it on the back end, behind the wheels, and a small strip on the trunk area lip.

Tesla won't sell me a 90 kWh pack unless I give them my old pack for 12% market value

+1. We charge at $200-$350 per hour (depending on the client and lawsuit involved), and the cost is probably bare minimum $5,000-$10,000 (that's early settlement, it'll probably cost $2K-$3K just to look at the full docs/pleadings and provide analysis). If dragged out with discovery and...

    Everybody remembers their first time.......

My first time was Dec 2014. Got my car end of Oct 2014, and planned my cross-country trip from California to Virginia & back for mid December. Come early December, I realized that I should probably try out supercharging before I head out with the wife on a 7,000+ mile trip in winter that...

    Phantom charge port door opening?

Exactly the same experience with my car as well. Rarely happens (maybe 1-2x a month), but once in awhile I close it too quickly then sit down in the driver's seat only to see it has popped open.

Is there a concern with a dash cam blocking autopilot harware?

I've got mine (Blackvue 650) installed right under the mirror and have no problems.

    Next-Gen Rear Seat - Headroom?

If the Next-Gen seats are the same as the Executive rear seats, then yes there is definitely some loss of headroom in the back compared to my textile seats. Even mentioned it to a Tesla employee and he acknowledged the extra cushion on those back seats reduces head room.

    X pectations

While my car was at the shop fixing the front bumper (accident), I was given a Buick Lacrosse with all the tech goodies on it (lane departure, ACC, collision avoidance, etc, etc). I must say I really liked the HUD and the air-cooled seats, especially with the recent heat wave here in Southern...

Personal observations from a Roadster owner who got to test drive several S Models.

You may very well be correct, I haven't sat in them in-person. It is just what I was told by a Tesla rep when I inquired.

Personal observations from a Roadster owner who got to test drive several S Models.

Apparently they are set back a little farther (I don't have written confirmation, just passed-on info), which is also why you can't get the rear-facing seats with them. Check out the design studio - once you select executive seats the rear facing seats can't be selected. I'm guessing the trunk...

Personal observations from a Roadster owner who got to test drive several S Models.

--If you pre-heat the car, the regen and battery range will be better. It'll still be limited in the cold and you will get reduced range especially with temps under freezing. Not much I can tell you there, that's just how it is. --If you are worried about cold weather and the wipers, get the...

California: Living on the other side of the law - (car pool stickers)

I took the smallest sticker, and put it on the back right bottom black area right behind the wheel so it can be seen by police from the back and right side. A police officer friend of mine said that was good enough and to keep the docs and other stickers in the glove box. Recently got pulled...

Fellow SoCal S60 owner here, with a similar setup. I highly recommend the pano roof. I originally ordered without it, but the wife wanted it... so the wife gets what she wants. Now I'm in love with it, and can't believe I wasn't going to get it at first. Drive down the California coast...
