    Autopark update

You mention it was better than this before? Have you experienced it getting worse since the update as well?

    Autopark update

Lol the guy is my dad. He came out to help record it but I realised I could just use the CCTV.

    Autopark update

Curb distance was the least of my concerns - there is a dropped curb there so I'll let it off on that one (although I've tested in other places and it is also quite far from the curb compared to before). This is a huge space to park in. It shouldn't need to do all that moving around to get in...

    Autopark update

Here you go as a GIF. And just to be clear, it was MUCH better at doing this before. This would have taken maybe 10-15s max before in one move.

    Autopark update

I agree. I only take some comfort in that a "technical person" contacted me a few times to clarify certain things about the issue. Whether or not they will actually look into it or not - I don't know. But I can only hope and keep pestering them. Can't seem to attach the video here for some...

    Autopark update

I have sent a video to Tesla service showing my parallel parking captured on a camera and they have come back acknowledging that it does indeed look very wrong and the engineering team are investigating it to fix in an update. It's possible they are just saying this but we'll see.

    Autopark Vision experiences

I see. For me it used to work all the time - I guess I tend to park in a few same areas so got used to getting the car to detect spaces. There were a couple of occasions where I couldn't get it to detect though. When it did detect the space it never had any trouble parking itself. Since the...

    Autopark update

So the point I'm making is that from the users point of view for Tesla, nothing has changed with parallel parking. It's still supposed to operate as before - ie detect a space between two cars and do its thing. Whether this is ultrasonic or vision is irrelevant to the user so if it has changed...

    Autopark update

I'm talking about how it performs differently. As far as I can tell, these release notes don't mean that parallel park hasn't been transitioned to vision. They don't need to tell us about the technology - just the new features. If parallel parking doesn't have any new features but the...

    Autopark Vision experiences

Is there concrete evidence for this? I'm not saying otherwise but I'm just going by the fact that parallel parking was made significantly worse with the vision update. Maybe it's unrelated but it doesn't seem to be the case. All I've seen so far is that perpendicular parking can use lines...

    Autopark update

They have definitely changed something with Parallel parking since the vision update. Ever since that update it now detects more spots and is able to stop for pedestrians but the parking manoeuvre is completely different now and much worse. So I suspect that parallel parking has been...

    Autopark Vision experiences

Anyone with these issues, please raise them with your service centre. There don't seem to be that many people who use parallel park so it's not something that gets reported a lot. I spoke to my service today and they said that this is the first they had heard of it and asked me to send video...

    Autopark update

I recalibrate the cameras today and the sudden braking issues wen autoparking appear to have been resolved. The parallel parking is still much worse than the previous versions though - it takes a suboptimal path and takes much longer.

    Autopark Vision experiences

Today I recalibrate the cameras and all the jerkiness and sudden braking I got when autoparking has gone. The parallel parking is still much worse than before though - it is taking a much worse path and taking much longer.

    Autopark update

I updated the car to 2021.44.30 and I think this made autopark even worse! When I tried parallel parking it kept slamming on brakes every couple of moments. I gave up after my head was thrown into the headrest a few times. It's shocking how bad its become. I might do a camera recalibration and...

    Autopark update

Haha I guess the difference here is: have the wipers ever worked well? In this case, the parallel parking has gone from something ideal to something useless. The wipers have always been useless as far as I understand so nothing got broken... (not that this is an excuse. They auto wipers suck...

    Autopark update

100% agree with you on this. If we ignore traffic moving around, parallel parking is pretty much a static scenario - it is literally a test case! There's no excuse for something like that getting worse. Though I guess it depends what the objective is: if the objective is "can I successfully park...

    Autopark update

I've contacted Tesla support about it with video footage. But I doubt they will do much. Maybe raise the issue too. Problem is that everyone I speak to about it says "I rarely parallel park" so I don't think it's an issue that's going to impact enough people to get it fixed quickly. So the more...

    Autopark update

Thanks. Wasn't totally clear to me from the release notes. All I interpreted from the release notes is that autopark is now able to detect lines for perpendicular parking. That could mean everything is transitioned to vision and this is new functionality for perpendicular parking. But I could...

    Autopark update

Is this confirmed somewhere? I thought this was the case as well but since the update wrecked Parallel Parking feature for me i assumed they had transitioned it to Vision. So I'm trying to get feedback from other people that have used it since the update to see if it's just something that's...

    Autopark update

As mentioned above, you have to drive quite slowly past it. Most of the time it picks up the space for me but it can be a bit later than you expect it to show up. Funnily enough it seems to have got a fair bit better at detecting spots with the new vision system.

    Autopark update

Fair enough. I have to do it 2-3 times a week now and I'm useless at it so was great to have Autopark working really well. I guess I'll have to learn the old fashioned way until they improve it again. It's a bit frustrating given I paid for the upgrade and now they've (hopefully only...

    Autopark update

I see. I guess it's more common to have to parallel park in the UK. I hope it improves. My concern is that it's been out in the US for a while now (I think) so has had time to be improved. But maybe I'm wrong on that. For sure I think vision based parking has potential to be better than...

    Autopark update

How about parallel parking? The perpendicular was okish for me but parallel parking was so bad yesterday it's almost dangerous
  27. R

    Autopark update

I recently updated to 2021.44.6 which, in the UK, introduced Vision Autopark - it now detects lines for perpendicular parking with cameras etc. However I've noticed that the parallel parking is SIGNIFICANTLY worse for me. It turns in too late now and turns in at a Sharp angle needing 5-6...

    Autopark Vision experiences

I'm concerned about (basic) AP now. It's been fine for me since I got the car 6 months ago but I wonder whether this updated has messed it up given what it has done to Autopark. Wish there was a way to go back...

    Autopark Vision experiences

I've had exactly the same experience. I went to test it in a car park and, given it was completely empty, it took many maneouvres and was braking very abruptly. The worst thing is that parallel parking has now become extremely bad for me too. I often park in a spot which is reasonably large and...
