    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Confirmed - on 2022 M3 LR on 2023.26.6 anything over 80% delivers you a Charging Tip.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Received 2023.26.1 today but it doesn't seem to have the "Charge on Excess" function that I understood it contains. I checked my Powerwall but its version is 23.12.2 (I think you need the .10 version). Has anyone else found the Charge on Excess available?

    Supercharger - Exeter, NSW

It's also a handy location to charge for anyone doing a Canberra -> Sydney run. I find a quick top up at Sutton Forest/Exeter while getting a coffee negates the need to find a charger in Sydney given some areas are poorly serviced with charging infrastructure. The Evie chargers are great but...

    Darwin to Sydney road trip

I wasn't aware of that - but I'm wondering if they still use the same mapping data so that roads are similarly referenced in both products. I can see I'll have to test this out

    Darwin to Sydney road trip

Interesting advice so thank you. Given the question over the Tesla M3 routing algorithms, which of the common free/paid mapping programs do people swear by (as opposed to swear at). I expect they all work well enough in the city areas but in rural areas, services are harder to find if needed...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Go you :) Been waiting less than you (7 Jan) but no delivery scheduled as yet - car is at least in Australia though. Enjoy your new toy next week.

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

' Same - my delivery window started 9-23 Aug, then 10-24 Aug, then 11-24 Aug now 12-25 Aug incrementing by a day every day but no delivery date as yet. Car came in on Monday I think, obtained its RAV status on 9 Aug but still waiting. It's a test of patience (which I have failed miserably)...

    Queensland Electric Highway

Ok - sounds like a great trip - although there may be a bit of the GAFA in there. So 10 days of great videos to watch I hope - are you returning the same way? Another great road trip like Tesla Tom with his Adelaide trip - I'm somewhat jealous of the both of you. Cheers

Should be a really nice trip - hope you enjoy it. How long do you think it will take? Cheers

    Tesla Model Y in Australia

Agreed - my understanding was the 4680 capacity may well ramp up over the next couple of years as manufacturing processes improve. It'll take that long to save anyway after getting the M3 (hopefully soon) if Shanghai is able to build them. The performance (hence peak current flow) for the AWD...

    Tesla Model Y in Australia

I know everyone has their own preferences but for me AWD and a LFP battery would be ideal. The AWD for safety and the LFP battery for battery management/longevity. Extra range is always good but not a dealbreaker. Hopefully the MIC Y LR will eventually get 4680 batteries and all will be good...

    Powerwall, Solar & Power Outage

Thanks to the contributors here as this is an interesting discussion. I have a large array 22kWp and 20kW inverter (3 phase of course) so if the grid goes down, my inverter shuts down and the Powerwall kicks in. This fine for short outages but given the prevelence of severe storms of late, I...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Ordered LR (Red/White) on 7/1 - located in Canberra. Was 12 weeks Friday just gone - estimate is currently still 14-20 weeks. Waiting hopefully.

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Happy for you - I ordered the next day but it was a LR so I'm not expecting anything until April->May. Enjoy your new toy. Cheers

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

/ You may prefer the wall charger for convenience so it is still worthwhile but just for completeness, you can get 7kW of charging from the UMC supplied with your car if you use a "tail" designed to fit the the plug you have/had installed (5 pin 32A 3 phase plug being the most common).

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Damn you ;-) I'm now the soon to be owner of one of these faceplates - looks so nice! Assuming you're in Canberra (from the delivery centre photo) can I ask who you used for the charger installation? Cheers

    Starlink in Oz

Did not know this so thank you. Went into setup and it defaulted to Automatic so I set it to off. Given there was an automatic setting, it may not make much difference but as you say, we don't really need it. When I first received it, I checked and it was drawing approx 100w so I'll check it...
