2022 Tesla Model Y cabin noise

Took delivery of a MYLR in September, Fremont build. Had an ear infection a decade or so ago that left me SUPER sensitive to pressure changes, like a few hundred vertical feet of change and I'm pop'ing my ears. That being said, no issues with the MY. I know it doesn't help your case, but...

Climate running while parked? (In a garage)

Interesting. I'll have to compare once I get updated. Right now I'm still in the post-delivery 30 day firmware hold. So at 2022.28.100 Huh. Well in this case the temp is going up, so heat is coming from elsewhere and going into the cabin.

Climate running while parked? (In a garage)

For where the data is from - Tessie: Awesome software for your Tesla - It's fairly slick for data collection, I'm a big fan of it so far. No other 3rd party apps. Scheduled Departure - Not turned on. We haven't used that feature as we don't have a regular schedule these days, but I double...

Climate running while parked? (In a garage)

Fairly new to the MY. Car was parked in a parking garage today for about 14 hours and it used roughly 3kwh of power. Not a big deal as I understand that Sentry mode requires the car stay away and consuming power (I've read 1 mile of range per hour of sentry). So the 12 mile drain just about...

    Model Y mobile charger

They emailed you a code. My order was in Feb as well, the day I got the VIN I got an email subject line "Redeem Your Charging Solution". $200 credit to the Tesla store that can be used for either for the mobile connector or the wall connector.

    Open/Close/Vent windows

Just another datapoint. MYLR delivery 9/27. Firmware 2022.28.100. No "vent" option in app either. Tessie also gives an "unsupported_command" error.

    Delivery question. External Financing.

I have USAA for financing and they provided me a "Dealer Funding Request" document. I applied and was granted the loan pre-VIN, so there is no VIN on it, but otherwise it sounds similar to yours. A bunch of codes and instructions for the dealers to fill out and fax back to USAA. I wasn't...

New MYP owner - My take on ride quality.

That was our old 91 Acura Legend. You'd start accelerating on to the freeway and go from 45 to 85 and not even notice. Super smooth.

Model Y and MyQ garage door opener

My garage door opener has *sugar* for wifi pickup. I live in suburbia, there isn't that much wifi interference and my house is covered by two enterprise grade wireless access points. Yet the GDO would still drop off of wifi or be terribly unresponsive. Ended up installing a 3 access point IN the...

    How do you personalize?

While I find that idea quite amusing, the spouse approval factor is going to be negative on that. I know there is always the option to fully wrap the Tesla but I'm not trying to REALLY stand out. More just curious if people did do something small for themselves.

    How do you personalize?

If you live somewhere that Tesla's are popular (like SF Bay Area, Seattle, Etc), most anywhere you park is going to be a lot of other Tesla's. Combine that with the fact that M3 and MY are the most popular AND generally come in one of 2.5 colors (White, Black and more recently Grey)... there are...

    Ride comfort - Wheel Size?

I'm well aware that "Ride comfort" is subjective and the rubber also makes a difference, but I'm curious if anyone has compared the 19" Gemini vs the 20" Induction weeks - specifically in the area of ride comfort? The range difference isn't important, nor is the looks, just optimizing for ride...

    FSD is Dealer Markup

Apparently I'm wrong on that. So I agree, FSD isn't as bad as some dealer markups. Depressing that those sort of markups exist but the rest still stands.
  14. S

    FSD is Dealer Markup

It doesn't though. Not today. Not unless you qualify for FSD AND get into the beta. When FSD is publicly available for everyone, then you're totally correct.
  15. S

    FSD is Dealer Markup

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but one of the big things the Tesla crew had over the traditional car makers, during the order process, was no dealer markups. Based on the recent changes pushing FSD that are punishing those who previously ordered non-FSD.. I'd argue that FSD is now...

    Model Y delivery date uncertainty

Assume you meant January of this year, 2022. But yea, mine was early Feb. Similar situation, original was August of this year... now Oct - Jan 2023. No, you didn't miss anything, that's just the way things are now.

EDDs - Giga Texas production baked in?

Hardly anything on the math stuff. Just someone who's spent a long time in the business world and knows how these things are typically planned out. Tesla is anything but typical so it's hard to know what to expect. Based on other threads about EDD, it seems anyone w/o FSD has had their order...

    Things are moving fast

That would be my question as well. I have an MY that when ordered had an EDD of August '22 that is now September '22 - no FSD for me.

EDDs - Giga Texas production baked in?

No solid information from me, but I'd wager that there is some assumptions built into their model related to Giga Tx. Frankly, their model is probably relatively complex. Global demand historical vs forecasted, with each factories production trends and estimations going forward. That being said...

carry a hitch receiver in case of rearwards tow?

There are lots of cars that don't have an easy way to tow from the rear. Never fear, tow truck drivers have got it figured out. If it's the smaller wrecker style truck with the rear T bar they just drop that down, back it under the rear axel of your car, secure car and pull. No big deal.

    Model Y Model car?

Huh, I'm not alone on noticing this is missing. Even the "cheap Chinese knockoffs" on Amazon don't seem to have a Model Y.

    Lemon?

See Tesla's Lemon Law document - You can read the exact laws for your exact state and situation. For example if your car has been out of service for 30 or more days in California, you may qualify. Overall that document has all the details you need and all the contacts.

No test drives available for 100 miles?

This week the options have been slowly reappearing in the Bay Area. As of last night I could book (and did) at the local gallery options. Some places had a week out start, but many were starting as soon as today. So my test drive is on monday :)

No test drives available for 100 miles?

Alas. I do not. Only MS, which Isn't quite similar enough. I was going to go the Turo route this weekend but had to cancel. It seems to be happening in the very near future. If I goto tesla.com/drive?zip_code=MYZIP it now shows the 3 closest galleries as options. However when going into booking...

No test drives available for 100 miles?

Well the "closer" locations didn't matter because when I tried to book I got: So much for that method. Yea, I thought about the option of renting something. But at the same time I don't love the idea of paying $150 just to test drive a car. Reading more on these forums I'm starting to see...

No test drives available for 100 miles?

I live in the East Bay, but by no means the fringe. If you goto tesla.com/drive and punch in a zipcode of 94105 (Downtown San Francisco), right now... it returns Gilroy as your first option. Interesting. That redirects to Schedule a Test Drive | Tesla (or your applicable gallery zipcode), and...

No test drives available for 100 miles?

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and recently my wife and I have started shopping for a new car, EVs - obviously. During the holiday break we managed to test drive a Mustang Mach-E, Audi e-Tron and a Volvo XC40. The only two cars on our list we couldn't drive are the id.4 and the Model Y...
