Aluminum is aftermarket. First gen is cardboard, 2nd gen is hard plastic. I replaced mine with aluminum. mine are still new if anyone wants them.

new one has hard plastics, and old one has the hard cardboard foam which rips easy. front and back skid plates. i have hard plastic ones if you are interested let me know.
