    Newbie winter tire question

I’m not questioning the quality. I’m sure they are fine for what I need. It’s just that 3 CT stores I called told me they are not made for a Tesla. I’ve checked the load rating and it’s more than enough. So I don’t get why they all recommend against it.

Wall Connector or 240V Charger adapter

I get what you’re saying and I would be ok with charging via a 120v plug most of the time. But going forward all my cars from here forward will be electric so it will be convenient to have myself set up long term.

    Anyone use Ruffino wheels ?

Thanks for the input. Most important for someone in Montreal is terrible roads and potholes between seasons. Dented wheels are a big issue so I just want to make sure it’s a strong wheel. Are there differences ? I’ve seen a lot of Tesla replicas locally……..can they be trusted ?

    Anyone use Ruffino wheels ?

I’m getting my M3 soon and I’ll need winter tires and wheels preferably. A local guy here in MTL is selling a lightly used set of Ruffino 18” wheels with Michelin X ice tires at a good price. Anyone know anything about Ruffino wheels ? They’re imported through a local company. He’s asking $1400...

Where should I install the charger ?

Im just going to go with a 50amp leading to a Nema 15-40 in my garage. This way I have more flexibility going forward with plug in chargers and other EV’s.

Wall Connector or 240V Charger adapter

Whatever the case, I’m going with this set-up because it gives me more flexibility going forward. The Tesla will not be my last EV going forward and I’m not committed to always owning a Tesla.

Wall Connector or 240V Charger adapter

My thinking is I’ll start with the Tesla adapter plugged into the 15-40 which should give me at least 30 miles an hour and at some point I can add any wall charger because there’s many out there that are plug-ins. Also easier to just unplug if you ever have any warranty issues with it.

Wall Connector or 240V Charger adapter

I’m also awaiting delivery of my 3SR+ and in contact with my electrician. I’m thinking of adding a nema 14-50 on 50 amps in my garage and possibly plugging in a wall charger to it later. I wasn’t aware that they make wall chargers now that can plug directly to a nema outlet. What do you guys...

    Expected delivery in Laval Quebec

Expected delivery is Feb 1- Mar 1….how accurate is Tesla with delivery. I wouldn’t mind getting it after March 15th so I don’t have to install winter tires for a couple of weeks before going back to summer right after.

Where should I install the charger ?

Is it 50amp or 30amp I should be installing?

Where should I install the charger ?

Only because it’s a small single garage and in the summer we have the bikes and lawnmower in there.

    Newbie winter tire question

Just called a 3rd one and same story. I can buy them but they’ll be finished after one season according to them…..also according to them only the Pirelli Sottozeros are made for electric cars. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Where should I install the charger ?

I’ll try to keep it short. I’m debating if I install a Tesla charger outside or an appliance type plug inside the garage. I live in MTL ( cold winters ) and might be parking in my single car garage on bad days. However , the rest of the year outside. I was thinking of installing it inside my...

Salt damage to 2021 Model 3 in winter?

I’m thinking maybe it can cause an issue with the battery .

Salt damage to 2021 Model 3 in winter?

I’ve always rustproofed my cars but I was told by the Tesla guy that I placed my order with……..NO rustproofing!! And I have seen Teslas on the road here in MTL with the oil leak stains under the doors which tells me there are people doing it anyways.

    Newbie winter tire question

That’s what I don’t get. I checked the load rating and it’s more than fine. I called two Can Tires and they both told me the same thing. They are not sutable for my car because of weight and speed rating. And on special at $650, that’s a pretty good deal.

    Newbie winter tire question

So if I understand , I don’t need to buy or change the sensors if I’m just swapping tires, right ?

    Newbie winter tire question

Looks like my best deal locally would be Michelin X-Ice, coming in at about $1000 for 18”. Anyone care to explain all this sensor stuff. I’m kinda lost .

    Newbie winter tire question

My expected delivery is Feb 1-Mar 1 so I’m starting to look into winter tires because in the Q it’s the law. I found a great deal at Can Tire for Motomaster Winter Edge but when I spoke to them they said those are not suitable for the Model 3 because it’s too heavy. Now I know Tesla sells and...
