Autocross- SCCA EV-X Class vs. SS

Been running 3.5 neg front and 2.4 rear on my MYP for about 6 months 1/16 toe in on front and 1/16 out on rear. At 42 psi cold wear seems about even.

I run the harder settings snd love the way the car feels very planted. Yes you do feel more road imperfections but I like the seat if the pants feel. And thumbs up to MPP a great product.

Autocross- SCCA EV-X Class vs. SS

Still a bit confused on classes 2023. What class is a lowered suspension , control arm changed for more neg camber, sway bar changed, wide wheel and tire Model Y Performance. Thanks.

Staggered or Square Setup for MYLR

The total diameter is close do speedo is only slightly out. The car is lowered quite a lot. I also have 12mm spacers on front and 15mm on rear. To do this the rears need a minimum of 2.5 neg camber.
  9. Y

Staggered or Square Setup for MYLR

Square, 20 x 9.5 inch rims with 285-35-20 tires. 35 offset. Lowered to about 4 inch under jack points. MPP SUSPENSION. great combination.

Autocross- SCCA EV-X Class vs. SS

Will model Y performance with mods mentioned in my last post still be in EB X class or are changes just for Model 3?

Autocross- SCCA EV-X Class vs. SS

Would I be right in thinking that a MPP suspension with 3.5 and 2.5 neg front and rear. With 20 x 10.5 rims with RE 71RS lowered to 3.5 inch under front jacking prints. With all new control arms etc . MY QUESTION IS FOR 2023 what would my correct class be my club has no other EV competitors so...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

There is a sharp lip that drops from my drive as I exit when I drive out after car has been standing for some days the offside front spring creeks as I trun left out of the drive. It's a one off think , then never makes a noise again so in my book it's not an issue for me.
  16. Y

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Occasionally if car has been left standing for over a week, otherwise no noises.

    Best Aggressive Wheel Offsets?

Hi, Running 285.35.20 on 20,x9.5 35 os. I use 12 mm on front 15mm spacers on rear. I have 3.6 neg on front and 2.6 on rear. I have got caster upto 6.8 degrees. 3.5 inch under front jacking pointd . No rubbing with driver and passenger. I plan to go to 10.5 rims this summer but will keep 35...

    Jebinc’s Plaid Vibration Experiment Results!!!

Touch wood mine is still ok, not so sure when I start autocross if it will return. Chinese parts seemed fine. Borrowed tool from AutoZone for free. The clicking on take up has gone . Plan to get old shafts rebuild as spares.

285s all around- good or bad?

A bit harsh, very respectable autocross times once moded. Also you forget the fun in beating some of the competition in what used to be class toppers.

285s all around- good or bad?

Ok currently run 285,35,20 in 9.5 x20 wheels plus 10 mm spacers with 3.5 neg camber on front. So I can see 35 offset all round with 10.5 x 20 how does it work with 295. 35. 20 perhaps with 11inch run to reduce side wall flex when in track.
  22. Y

    Best Aggressive Wheel Offsets?

I have 285 all round on light weight 20 inch rims. Range does take a hit. My range on full charge driving quickly in the current cold conditions in Ohio is about 210 miles. My wh/mi is about 360 on an 80 mile journey. In summervI would guess about 320 wh/mi I drive about 20 faster than average...

Autocross- SCCA EV-X Class vs. SS

New topic if that's ok. Anybody taking generator in trunk to charge between runs. No charger near my track. My aim is to get about 10% in about an hour 15mins. My plan was a 240volt generator that can use mobile cable and charge at about 30amps. I know there can be grounding issues but...

    Best Aggressive Wheel Offsets?

Will I be ok with 20 x10.5. 285. 35. 20. 3.5 neg camber. 6.8degree caster. Running 3.5 inch clearance under front jack pads. I know rears are fine. I want to have much more sidewalk support for autocross. Thanks

Review/Installation/Comparison - Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Adjustable Tesla Model Y Coilovers

I believe it's done by changing the compression rate of the spring over it's length compared to the original and being able to regulate the bump and rebound much more progressively with a higher quality damper construction. Phew.

Review/Installation/Comparison - Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Adjustable Tesla Model Y Coilovers

Totally agree. Your input is fine and does not feel like you are prompting their produce any more than I am. Trying to get the best out of a produce that's infinitely adjustable and expressing positive opinions is not product sales promotion in my mind on the contrary it fine helpful plain and...

Review/Installation/Comparison - Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Adjustable Tesla Model Y Coilovers

Try again Compression is 7 rebound is 9 I am an idiot, sorry my previous statement was the wrong way round. Reducing the rebound compression helps the shock to return to equilibrium making the ride less harsh. Does that make sense, it's less fidgety.
  28. Y

Review/Installation/Comparison - Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Adjustable Tesla Model Y Coilovers

It makes slightly less bumpy then a higher compression and the higher rebound slows the return in the damper which makes it smoother that's the theory .

Maximum Tires Size Model Y Performance?

You need to go for a square setup with a thicker rear anti sway bar. I then added more negative camber front and thing got a bit better. Then did full adjustable suspension and lowered the car and it's not bad now. Lost most of the twitchyness. Still a touch of understeer when doing autocross...

Vendor Redwood Motorsports Model Y - Ohlins DFV (Performance and Grand Touring Specs) - RE-STOCKED

How did you do on front clearance. I run 285 35 20 with 35 offset and 12mm spacers on front and 15 mm on rear. Still need 3.5 neg on front and 2.5 on rear to get outside edge clearance with 3.5 in under front and 3.75 inch under front and rear jacking pads. Interested in your progress, thanks

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

The more you remove the easier it is in the long run. Access to remove and install the plugs is so very Very tight. Also because its so difficult you feel like you might break something. I found long pliers with L shaped end helped a bit. It can be done.!

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

Had an initial problem and it had to go back. Since then worked well. It does have the cutout plug so I just leave that behind the carpet trim if I need to work round it.

What did you name your car?

Maine is Blue so I chose Karman, after the Karman belt in space as it's the same fantastic color. The other but if luck I was able to get MYP as registration in Ohio.

Just can't see this, have had my suspension I'm and out a few times never had an issue, sounds like operator error.

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Nope just autocross , can handless really nicely, great turn in. No bad effects in high speed stability. Running with 3.75 in ground clearance under jacking points front and 4.00 in rear.

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Just the comfort kit, but have added unplugged rear anti sway bar run hard. MPP bush inserts and lower front control arm bushes. Don't feel any ruffness but shaper steering feel. I have increased castervabit with some cheap adjustable front upper control arms , about 6.5 degrees. 3.5 front...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Hi, That's on my MYP with 20 inch wheels and 285 tires square. Also have managed to reduce unsprung weight about 85 lbs so that helped ride a bit.

    Tesla screwed us

I blame myself, it's was always apparent he is a cowboy. Still love my MYP.
  44. Y

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Totally agree softer is not better, the joy of the mpp setup is I have it harder but the progression is just so much more sophisticated. I run 10/9 and 10/8 in the NE and to me it's just fine. It's hard without being harsh. Also way more communicative.

MYP has judder if hard acceleration

I was in exactly same place as you. It was front drive shaft on one side but changed both. As I have extensive suspension mode I did it myself. Took the risk of buying half shafts direct from a factory in China. Paid extra shipping and got them in about 3 weeks. Got the necessary pullers and...

How about a mod to increase Regen braking strength and slider for control.

Is there any reason why we can't have full range of Regen adjustment?
