    Insurance

Sadly been informed by Novo their brokers will not insure my postcode (you can guess why living in Outer London). Is there an insurer which will offer competitive quotes for a male 30's, 13 NCB in Outer London? (cheapest last year was £1,508 and this year £2,000)

    Supercharger preconditioning

4 mins less of supercharging means more profit for Tesla and more cost out of your pocket. A quick calculation works out that to be over 9% of a M3 range (basic model), roughly 4.8 KW wasted (if you dont value 4 mins) at a cost of £2.88. Which prob doesnt mean anything if you are a CEO or some...

    Crazy low residuals?

Negative being of this is you will have an old car driving around whilst new models are updated with better features (non updatable via OTA)
  4. G

    Crazy low residuals?

What the percentage of tesla owners with free supercharger. Its prob really low. Isnt there a clause that gives a certain amount of supercharging and it isnt actually unlimited usage for the year Yes i think owners would be happier if eleccy or supercharging is subsidised
  5. G

    Crazy low residuals?

Which would be 2% of 2400 and then 20/40% of that depending on your bracket? Which is 480/960 a year?

    Insurance renewal in 2023

Expecting a renewal next week. Someone hit into my from the side and it was third party at fault 100%. Anyone can kindly advise how this may affect the premium before I start looking elsewhere. I appreciate it varies but any data points would be useful

IIRC there was an accident near there or one of the north London supercharger points so either refurbishment or they have decided to can it. I cant even see prices on my map, a few others have commented too. Meh they wont get my 2 pence il just charge elsewhere
  10. G

    Crazy low residuals?

After 11 months I have done 3.5k... EV is the way but residual is low Hopeful that the lower mileage car can be competitively prices.. I will not be going via WBAC for sure.

Can someone tell me how to get the pricing back on the Tesla map? It just says busy or not busy (nothing about timings of costs) which is a bit *sugar*. I can charge at home but it isnt 250KW and the destination I will go to is, Thanks!

    [UK] Price cuts

Thanks, useful. Unfortunately the tanked price + the fact MY cost more to insure might make it a miss from me.

    [UK] Price cuts

Ah ok only two results came up for my model.

    [UK] Price cuts

So checking out the advertised price is no problem I can see that on Autotrader But I wanted to know how stale are the prices, i.e. are people evening buying them off the listing for the said amount This is something which Autotrader doesnt tell you (like eBay tells you completed/sold listings)
  17. G

    [UK] Price cuts

Considering to swap my M3 for a MY (2022) only has 3000 miles on it, can someone guide me on a realistic price if sold on Autotrader? I can see one listed for 38.5k (a bit more mileage) and wanted to get some views here... I dont mind putting in the extra However WBAC and Motoway are quoting...

    Significant reduction in SC pricing

Prob cheap now to fool us. When it goes even higher than it was after Jan 23….
  19. G

Would you buy a new Model S?

Having read reviews of second hand models. The cost to replace a faulty item is sky high
  20. G

    Significant reduction in SC pricing

Thanks that was useful - I just wanted to know where I stand (on charging at home vs using public chargers) as I am not close to the bill and we do not switch providers multiple times (pre-price cap this might have been a savvy thing to do) and as the energy is on my siblings name. I can see...

Could this mean more resell value for current models!

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

Any chance of a sub-£40k car from Tesla soon? A model 2?
  24. G

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

Okay, by the sounds of it existing owners are saved from this excess tax. I mean to be frank I dont drive much after the pandemic so paying a surcharge will be great, not exactly rushing off to WBAC but that is always an option for later and seeing what the latest offers are then.
  25. G

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

This is my point, according to the AUTUMN STATEMENT 2022 PDF • the Expensive Car Supplement exemption for electric vehicles is due to end in 2025. New zero emission cars registered on or after 1 April 2025 will therefore be liable for the expensive car supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement...

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

Also, many people switch cars after 5 years. Which I imagine most Tesla owners will do by then and get the next best deal (performance, feature, warranty, tax rate etc)

    Winter with a Tesla

IIRC theres a 3% battery discharge per day if not being used Can anyone post other data points?
  28. G

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

Exactly, they have shot themselves in the foot. The only other route they are going to use is to keep pushing petrol/diesel prices up year on year so people are forced to change
  29. G

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

Quoting BBC, is this correct from the second year? I thought the £355 surcharge was only after the 5th tax year? It means anyone buying a new car - electric or otherwise - priced at more than £40,000 will face having to pay £165 in tax plus a £355 expensive car supplement every year from the...

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

A local mini cab driver friend warned me 6 years ago this was coming. I didnt believe them
  32. G

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

How does the £40k surcharge fee work, only for newly issued cars from 2025 or backdated from 2022?

What's everyones insurance renewals this year?

Exactly the part cost remains the same across the UK
  34. G

What's everyones insurance renewals this year?

Its crazy. Worse than inflation and outsiders seem to be getting the same if not more pay nowdays. I dont understand Obviously the insurers will cite crime rates etc on postcode areas
  35. G

What's everyones insurance renewals this year?

I figured some nice owners live out of the capital but it would be interesting to benchmark those that live in the capital
  36. G

What's everyones insurance renewals this year?

Not at renewal yet but paid £1500. 31 Y/O based in North East London with 11 NCB. How on earth are people getting £300-£700?

    Wheel centre caps

Saw this thanks. Thought it was a spare to buy kit as opposed to a non supplied item
  38. G

    Wheel centre caps

Ah ok thanks. I suspected that. I took my covers off too quickly. Just incase they were supplied free I wanted to ask the community
  39. G

    Wheel centre caps

Sorry if this is a daft question Where do I find the wheel centre caps for my model 3? I removed the areo covers

Company getting in touch after having a car charger fitted - Is this normal?

It is enough but not value for what is purchased and its real capability
  41. G

Company getting in touch after having a car charger fitted - Is this normal?

Well the Tesla charger is capable of giving charge much faster and any Tesla model is capable or receiving much more charge so it seems they are not getting much out of it. Rough calc means 13 hours to fully charge the car which is close to 3.7kw
  42. G

Company getting in touch after having a car charger fitted - Is this normal?

Had a gas box moved by the supplier or grid. Same experience they were good. Sourced paved driveway bricks and made it all new again. Only a small portion was affected

    Tesla Payment Question

There is no issue in paying from business and there is no issue when collecting keys. They will see it cleared and no need for insurance proof
