$3,750 discount from Tesla on Model 3 and Y delivered this year

This credit is certainly affecting the trade in values. I noticed a drop of about $4k from last month to this month alone.

    2021Model 3 Rear seat squeak

Same problem here, and it’s already been to the service center once which didn’t fix it.

Tesla Partnership with Buc-ee's (26 New Locations)

Can’t wait until the Royse City and Terrell ones are done. We used the Lindale one yesterday and charged a little bit longer than estimated knowing we wouldn’t have another one before we got home.

Tesla Partnership with Buc-ee's (26 New Locations)

Good, now I don’t have to go to Dallas or the west side of Plano should I need a Supercharger.

New owner… I wish someone would've warned me

I know the feeling. My wife’s Model 3 LR makes my SR+ feel slow, and the SR+ makes our RAV4 Hybrid feel like pedaling a bicycle. 🤣

Used Tesla Bought (2019 for $36.8K)

Tesla’s trade in values are horrible with Tesla themselves. They had my ‘21 SR+ with 18k miles at $25k. 🤣

$39k Used Model 3's on Tesla Website

I get that. My configuration is $49,490 new. I guess the wheels and color premium don’t really keep any kind of value.

$39k Used Model 3's on Tesla Website

Still don’t get how my ‘21 isn’t worth more than $39-40k locally when dealers who do have them for sale are asking $45-50k for older higher mileage SR+ or even just SR. We still have a supply chain issue and a chip shortage going on. Yes I agree the Fed isn’t helping right now.

Factory OEM SiriusXM nearly working in Tesla 2022 Model 3

It’s been a bit since I last saw this thread. So to summarize so far: this is working on Intel based cars but still having issues on AMD cars?

$39k Used Model 3's on Tesla Website

Weird, the “cheapest” Model 3 on Tesla’s website is an older 2019 used with FSD in the upper $40s. This is only searching within a few hundred miles of my location.

$39k Used Model 3's on Tesla Website

There’s no need for the snippy replies here. I get that we’re in a recession. It’s just interesting to me that the values seemed to have plummeted as quickly as they did in just a few short months and I wasn’t expecting to see this so soon. By the way I looked at the used ones on Tesla’s...

$39k Used Model 3's on Tesla Website

Sorry I haven’t really been paying attention that closely in the last several months so my apologies. What’s bizarre is the value of our 2020 RAV4 Hybrid is worth more.

$39k Used Model 3's on Tesla Website

Has something happened to the used car market lately that has negatively affected the value of our Model 3s? Both Vroom and Carvana have my 2021 valued in the mid $30s and a local Chevy dealer is at $39-40k. When I look at what’s for sale locally, 2020-2021 Model 3 SR+ with my mileage are in...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

This is using new 4/2 romex wiring as required for a 60a breaker. I got told today that they are expecting the new breaker tomorrow so crossing my fingers. The breaker box is on the south side of my house but technically would get the sun directly on it until late afternoon.

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

I’ve noticed issues like this crop up when I was using the 14-50 and tripping the breaker fixed them. I now have a TWC hardwired with a 60a breaker than has worked all of 30 minutes before shutting off due to the breaker itself getting to over 150 degrees. Electrician is waiting j a new 60a...

2018 MR vs 2022 RWD Model 3 - great progress

You can get HomeLink in your ‘22 as an accessory from Tesla. It’s pricey though.

Driver profiles to be stored in the cloud

We moved my wife’s M3 over to her own Tesla account yesterday and that was an interesting process. Somehow the annual premium connectivity went back into a trial period according to the Tesla rep we spoke with but the end date isn’t until next August which was the original end date after I...

Good news is they already got back with me this morning and will be setting up a breaker swap during the next week.

    Recommended Charger Installers DFW?

That’s who did my install today. A little pricey bit the electrician they sent out was very professional and didn’t leave any holes. He told me he would need to cut part of the wall out but he put it back and it doesn’t look bad. The only issue is I tried using it tonight at 48a and about...

Tesla App V4.12.0 Adds Tire Pressure

I’d like to be able to use this feature of the app, but my ‘21 M3 just updated to 2022.20.9. 😔. Would like the latest update to 2022.24.

Tesla Wall Charger Installation in Garage

Here’s the interior of my garage. The space between the garage doors is what I’m thinking. The lowest quote I got was $1295 which invoices the permit. I’m intrigued by the idea of using a pulley system to run the cable across the ceiling. It sure would be much cheaper than running it...

Tesla Wall Charger Installation in Garage

Would I still be able to wrap the charge cable around the wall charger with doing that? Like I said it’s exactly 9” between the garage door rails. Flush mount would be preferred.

Tesla Wall Charger Installation in Garage

I have a new TWC that I’m discussing with two different electrician companies with getting quotes for install. My two car garage has two single doors so I have a 9” space between the two door rails. I’d prefer to have it installed there since we have two Model 3s and I wouldn‘t have to deal...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Two electrician companies I’ve contacted about hardwiring in my new TWC have quoted me $300 for the permit from the city. The city I live in is very permit heavy and costly. I’ve been quoted $1300 for a 25’ run of 4/2 wiring that will go partially through the attic and down the wall in my...

I’ve noticed with my Legrange outlet and using the mobile charger that it will drop to 16a about an hour into charging. Plug is only at 115F though so I’m assuming the mobile charger is finicky about temperature.

    Recommended Charger Installers DFW?

Good Faith Energy told me they only install the Tesla Wall Charger if the customer is also buying solar.

    Recommended Charger Installers DFW?

Looking at this myself as I am replacing my 3rd party charger with a TWC and am looking to hardwire it. I can’t get a reliable electrician to my house. I would do it myself but my city is permit heavy.

I won't run into any NEC code issues doing this? Will the plastic box for the outlet be okay for this?

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

That’s really my only concern, can I tie a piece if 6/2 using wire nuts and capping off the neutral wire on the existing 6/3 in the existing plastic junction box and still meet code? Really appreciate all of your help!

Model 3 2023 updates? Or what would you guys like to see?

This is good, because it blocks the Homelink for my garage doors when I'm turning onto my street.

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Nope. It's to the left of a stud though, where the 3rd party EV charger was installed at about 6 feet in height. Would I need to have the 6/2 (I can get this for a few bucks cheaper) in a conduit in the wall? The 6/3 running to the outlet now is just in the drywall with no conduit, then going...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

So if I hardwire it using my existing wiring with the non-GFCI 50a circuit breaker, would I need to extend the wiring up in the wall so that my Tesla Wall Connector is higher up? My 14-50 outlet is about 3 feet off the ground in the wall in a plastic remodel box. I'm sure I can't just replace...

New iPhone 13 Pro Max in a case does not work with the 2021 Model 3 wireless charging pad

I’ve gotten mine to charge about half the time now. If I hit a bump just right I lose the charging.
  38. E

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

So if I decide to go to a 60a circuit to hardwire the Wall Connector I don’t need a GFCI breaker? My panel is an Eaton CH and it’s a pain to find the non-GFCI 60a breaker, let alone the GFCI version.

Tesla Wall connector with 14-50 NEMA plug

Main problem is the city I live in is very permit heavy. Even replacing a fence requires a permit. An above ground pool requires a permit. I can do the work myself, but am curious if I’d be in any trouble if I did that. This is with the hardwire option. I can certainly keep the 14-50...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Curious though as to why the electrician didn’t install a GFCI breaker with the outlet. He knew it was for an EV charger too.
  41. E

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Got it, that tells me the electrician I used 3 months ago to install the 14-50 outlet didn’t know what he was doing as he installed a non-GFCI 50a breaker, and he knew it was for an EV charger. 😡
  42. E

Tesla Wall connector with 14-50 NEMA plug

I've been contacting a few local electricians who specialize in installing the Tesla Wall Connector and one told me that I cannot use a NEMA 14-50 plug with it because Tesla didn't design it to work that way. I have an existing NEMA 14-50 that a current third party charger is using. The...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Got it. The current 50a breaker is not a GFCI as the 3rd party charger using the outlet now has its own GFCI. I thought the TWC had its own built in GFCI and wasn’t supposed to use a GFCI breaker?

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Romex. I got two quotes from two electric companies. Both told me I’d need 4/3 in order to utilize a 60a breaker. Both quotes are over $750 just for the electrical work. I might as well just keep the 14-50 outlet and run it at the 40a max charge amperage. I can’t see paying that just to get...

Finally tested the temp issue with using the Tesla mobile charger to see how hot it would get. The hottest it got was 120 degrees whereas the 3rd party charger would reach 155-160 degrees at the plug. The Tesla power cord is about half the diameter of the 3rd party charger. Definitely not the...

    Tax, Title, Fees, in Texas

My ‘21 was purchased from Vroom. Will never do that again as the car arrived dirty with swirl marks and a few more paint chips than was shown online. My wife’s ‘22 was picked up at the Plano SC and had a few issues that were taken care of with mobile service. We have an alignment issue we...
