Welp I got it! Been using it all day, no basic autopilot and still got it. Drove up to Wawa and got a scratcher which won $600 😅. Gonna be a good month.

I think they are, I just asked for a complimentary upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0 and they did it 🤷🏽‍♂️. I got the idea from a thread here and saw a ton of other people who also got it for free. Only 1 or 2 didn’t so it might depend on the service center.

Don’t know if mine supports fsd. Technically yea but I can’t subscribe to it on the app unless I pay $3k for basic. Wondering if it’ll skip over that for the trial since I do have the hardware for it.

I only have Autopilot safety features (so no real AP) however I do have HW 3.0 upgrade. Will I get the trial FSD that’s going around? Or no since I don’t even have basic AP

That's crazy, I have a 2014 p85 with premium connectivity, I upgraded the mcu2 and I still have it. No issues at all.

Yea you need the mcu2 upgrade. I have a 2014 P85 and got the new mcu, I have apple music now. It was 1500, I didn't do the radio since I can just stream that from iheart radio. Both screens are replaced with mcu2.

Yea I have a 2014 P85 and you can't use it as a card key. When that other owner you mentioned said he was 100% able to use the phone as a key, he's talking about the app. Not a key card.

Same issue with my 2014 P85, but once I purchased the mcu2 for 1500. I got everything, theatre, Netflix, YouTube, toy box, sonic, etc.

Good info to know, track mode seems nice to have too. Maybe on my next car I'll have that.

In the 2015s and up they have the cameras so they probably have sentry mode, but mine has the auto wipers when rain hits the windshield, same with auto beams, cold weather package and premium audio as well. However, I don't know what the nerdy screen is you're referring too.

Hey I got the Mcu2 upgrade few months ago and didn’t get the fm/am radio on purpose. What I do is download “iHeart radio” app on your phone, and Bluetooth the local stations you listen to to the car. Problem solved works perfect and save that $500.

What I did was after I got the Mcu upgrade on my 2014, I downloaded “iHeart radio” app on my phone, searched for my local radio station and Bluetooth stream it whenever I wanna hear the radio again. I opted out that extra $500 for fm radio. App works perfect

Just got mcu 2 upgrade on my 2014, I’d never go back if i was asked. My ps5 actually plays on it too where as when I had the mcu1 the processor wasn’t capable of even loading it.

Yea mine got delayed too 3 times after that it was on schedule.

Another thing I’ve noticed was using the site retrogames.cc this allows you to play hundreds of games from classic consoles. However when I had Mcu 1, it was too sluggish to play any game and unplayable. Once I got mcu2 installed I can play anything now. Much faster processor, I have a 2014 btw

After getting the MCU upgrade, I noticed the app shows the animation for the trunk opening but won’t actually open. Same for the fronk. It worked fine when I had the mcu1, anyone ever heard of this happening? Doors don’t unlock or lock either using the app anymore.

Yea I opted out the extra $500 for the radio because it actually has some local radio stations already in the streaming section. I use Apple Music mostly anyway but yea depends on the person.

Just asked service how much the taillight would be because of that light you see that went out, of course they want to replace the whole thing instead of changing the bulb. But there is condensation in there, is there a cheaper work around? Or just have them do it for 500

If you’re just mirroring your phone the audio comes out your car speakers by switching to phone on the Mcu. For the Apple TV you need an FM modulator. Lag may be off by like .2, it’s really unrecognizable to me and to others. There is a way to have it sync perfect though I hear.

Yea all u do is turn the mirroring on first, then do your auto pilot not the other way around. I don’t have AP anyways but that’s how u do it if you do have it.

Right, you use your phone or remote to control everything.

Absolutely, what u do is hold the cruise control lever towards you for 2sec and it switches back to stock reverse camera. Whenever u want to switch to that hdmi again, u just hold for 2sec again. Very seamless

It’s a kit by a company called Beatsonic, they’re out of Cali. You can use androids too I also have a pixel 6 pro. U just use an MHL adapter instead of apples lightning/hdmi adapater and they work the same way.
