Tesla Financial Services - Worst Customer Service Ever

It's a lovely bit of kit...the interior is a lovely place to sit and it's the little touches that really elevate it into the "special" category IMO. As long as you go into it with your eyes open and accept it's basically in Beta (which shouldn't be the case, but is) then I can't see you being...

Tesla Financial Services - Worst Customer Service Ever

I can't help you with the finance issues you're having but, before you jump from the frying pan into the fire, my mate has an Eletre R and it's spent more time at the dealership than it has on his driveway. Fantastic car, but not without it's issues (well documented on their forums) and...

New owner here. Got a question…

Off topic...but you can't drop in that you've got a CSL and not supply pics! That sounds like an ideal garage to me, Tesla M3 for the mundane day-to-day stuff and a "proper" M3 for fun 👌

Luton V4 "button" on plug does not work

Just to add my 2p, noticed the same thing at the newly opened V4 site at Whitburn. I just assumed with it being an "open" site that the functionality wasn't enabled.

    Run-away I-PACE, really?

Saw this pop up on another forum, usual anti-EV rhetoric behind it, but it's not unique to EVs (even if you do believe this was a genuine mechanical/electrical issue). https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/feb/13/french-driver-200kmh-car-chase There was also another one in Glasgow recently...

    New Year's gift from Tesla

Anyone had any luck with this...passed this over to my mate with a Lotus Eletre and he's just been charged for his first session. New app user and all setup with credit card etc as indicated.

    MYLR all season tyres

It was actually a raised drain cover, surprised the damage wasn’t worse but the tyre offered little to no protection it has to be said. I’d be tempted by the newer 104V fitment, but it wasn’t an option when I got those. I’d actually originally ordered the Pirelli but stock was thin on the...

    MYLR all season tyres

As they are now. Fitted last December with 8-10k miles on them, so no more “settling” to be done. They don’t look as pronounced as those first pics but they don’t extend past the rim edge like the OEM Hankooks. I’m fine with them based on the performance of the tyre, but hopefully that helps...

    MYLR all season tyres

Haha! I remember this, that was before my Tesla days. It just inches over the point of no return. I’ve got my winter driving profile set to creep to try and avoid that kind of thing happening in snow or ice but that was a bit of an extreme
  10. K

    MYLR all season tyres

I’ve just had the wheels rotated after 8k or so miles, they don’t look as bad as they did when first fitted and more flush with the rim now. I need to give the car a good wash and pre-winter coating at the weekend, so will send an updated pic then

Tyre Rotation Cost? (Tesla Service Home Visit)

2-2.5mm. I’ve got all seasons on the car, maybe a slightly softer compound and more susceptible to wear, so I thought worth doing. I wouldn’t bother in your case I don’t think.

Tyre Rotation Cost? (Tesla Service Home Visit)

I got charged £47 today for their mobile service. Pretty reasonable I thought, kwik-fit wanted £15 a corner.

    MYLR all season tyres

Not sure, but I’m on the SUV version and there is a bit of poke, although this does seem to have got better over the last 5k miles
  14. K

    MYLR all season tyres

That seems a bit on the high side. I was quoted about £880 for the Pirelli SF2s (which then weren't delivered) and ended up paying £920 fitted for the CC2s back in December.

MY Parcel shelf not staying folded

You guys with parcel shelves don’t know how lucky you are… 😂 As a family car, I’ve been really impressed with the ability of the Model Y to slot seamlessly into family life, and the battery and drivetrain tech is still class leading. Like others on here though, having had almost a year to...

    MYLR all season tyres

They don’t have the foam, but I definitely wouldn’t say it’s noticeable. Possibly slightly more resonance over a broken surface. Comfort is improved though, definitely feel a bit more compliant at same pressures (42psi)
  18. K

    MYLR all season tyres

Different angle of the CC2…they’re not maybe as extreme as the other picture suggested, but the Pirelli’s do seem to fit the Gemini’s better. As a tyre though, I can’t fault the Michelin. Even in the recent drier weather they are a revelation over the standard fit Hankooks
  19. K

    MYLR all season tyres

To the guy that asked earlier - you might want those SF2s after all 😂
  20. K

    MYLR all season tyres

All 4 are that way, would you expect them to all be off? But agree, that photo angle does exacerbate it. I’ll take another picture but done about 500 miles on them now and no ill effects, so not overly concerned…

    MYLR all season tyres

Almost looks like they’re stretched doesn’t it, but the are 255 sections!
  22. K

    MYLR all season tyres

Rim protection (or lack thereof) on the Michelin CC2 SUV. Apologies for the dirty wheel pic!
  23. K

    MYLR all season tyres

No. And I’ve run the same setup on past cars, but in central Scotland you’d rarely need a full winter (nor a full summer!!) so running an all season all year round makes sense for me, as I can’t be bothered with the hassle of wheel changes and tyre storage. I wouldn’t bother with an all season...

    MYLR all season tyres

Fwiw Harry’s garage had the latest RRS in on his latest review and he made mention of how good the Pirelli scorpion all season were that the car was running. Don’t know if it’d be the same SF2 but I don’t think you can make a bad choice here.
  25. K

    MYLR all season tyres

The rim protector I’d definitely have preferred as the leading edge is very exposed now. Tyre noise with the CC2 I’d swear was less than the Hankook (it’s rated 69db I think) but hard to gauge in the wet and the Pirelli could well be better. Probably splitting hairs with both tyres, can’t go...

    MYLR all season tyres

The SF2 I had on order went out on stock, but managed to pick up the CC2 SUV as an alternative just by keeping an eye on different websites. I’d decided on the SF2 as it was a fully fledged electric variant for Volvo, but very very impressed with the CC2. So much better than the Hankooks, will...

Model Y Hankook tyres - how many miles would you expect from them?

I found the Hankooks pretty squirrely in the current conditions and opted to swap out for Michelin CC2, I kept the 8k old Hankooks thinking there’d be plenty left in them but only about 4/4.5mm on front and 3/3.5mm on rear. I don’t rate them at all, they’ll go back on before lease is up but...

Any nice 19” 3rd party wheel covers for Y ? (MSM)

Those look good, I prefer how they work with the wheel design, stuck my name down on the waiting list!

    Slow puncture in Model Y

CAR CARE (MOTOR ENGINEERS) LIMITED 0141 638 8848 https://maps.app.goo.gl/Kp5vy1ASY8o4QncB9?g_st=ic Not tried with a noise cancelling tyre, but these guys repaired a runflat for me for £15 that none of the big places would touch.

That’s reassuring to know. Do like the MY in red, the Gemini’s also look far better with the covers off.

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

The expensive supplement is a kick in the stones, resented paying that when I had the previous X5. Not like it goes into upkeep of the roads either, but that’s opening another debate.
  33. K

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

As has been stated above, it would be quite the departure from the norm for this to be applied retrospectively. Changes to BIK on the other hand do apply immediately, but the impact is not as bad as I feared it might be.

Supercharging not being billed - lease customer

I remain in the same boat as you, appears in car but not in app and, despite having a payment card on account, have never been billed. I’ve taken the advice above to keep mum! If I’m ever chased, I’ll pay then but long may it continue!!

Approved Bodyshop L&I Perth or Mitchell Inglis Glasgow

Did you go through insurance I’m guessing? I had what seemed like a fairly innocuous low speed collision with a low wall, that looked like a new parking sensor and some bumper repair would see it right, but when my usual guy removed the front bumper the lower metal crash bar has been bent...

UK and Ireland Marketplace - For Sale / Wanted / Free

Hi mate - it’s the front surround (which holds the plate in) and the frame (middle section) that I need. The actual mounting plate which is fixed to the bumper looks to be fine. The frame is squashed and the front retaining plate is marked. Cheers

UK and Ireland Marketplace - For Sale / Wanted / Free

Wanted - Model Y front numberplate surround I’ve managed to damage the front numberplate surround and carrier on a low wall. I know a lot of people remove these anyway, but with it being a lease car I’m looking to replace. Has anyone got one going spare that they’ve taken off their own car...

Supercharging not being billed - lease customer

Evening All, Had my Model Y coming up on 6 months now and only used the superchargers on a couple of occasions on longer trips. I’ve read various posts that supercharger sessions wouldn’t appear in the app owing to me being a lease customer, but I appear to not be getting billed for them...

Looks fantastic with the inductions mate, definitely the combination to have. I know there’s some debate on suspension differences between Q2 and Q3 but what I can tell you is the suspension definitely softens up with miles. We’ve done 4k in ours now and while the ride is firm, there was a...

It may have been March cars...my Q1 (reg 31 March) car also has it. It did need to be re-done though for grit and air bubbles at local SC, but flawless since then.

I quite like the "black carbon" version as well with the inlays in carbon fiber effect...but can't decide if they'll look a bit tacky in reality?

    Model Y UK Delivery

These look good - I’ve been toying with Rimetrix / Aliexpress vs powder coating, but I also have a lease car and don’t really want to go without the car for a couple of days either while powder coating takes place. I think at £180 tax and delivered I might go with the same, important that the...

16.3 visualisation - fewer vehicles detected

It’s exactly this. You engage reverse as you normally would which brings on the cameras and parking sensors, but then select reversing assistant which performs your steering inputs in reverse. You still control speed and braking, and the car will disengage the auto-steering if it detects an...

16.3 visualisation - fewer vehicles detected

This - there's also one on the nose of the BMW (between or integrated into the grilles) which also allows that top down view when you're coming up to a fixed object. It's one of the areas I expected the Tesla to be on par with or better than my X5 but sadly not. I also miss the reversing assistant.

    Model Y UK Delivery

Sorry mate - I chucked it when I took it off the car. Best way I can describe it though is like removing one of those hard plastic mobile phone cases, you pull back the edges in the same way and it just pops off. Mirror looks much better without it.

    Agreed 😂

With you on mirror…but wait until you get to the sun visors 😂 Most of the lower touchpoints are fine, but those 2 areas stood out as particularly cheap feeling to me coming out of another “luxury” car.
