What the Plaid needs to win at the track

Simple soft ware upgrades would make the car even more undefeated. I often race full blown race cars that come on trailers and aren’t even street legal. I know for most owners it sounds like Im asking a lot. For people that race its not much considering how limited the modifications for the car are-

What the Plaid needs to win at the track

    1) I cant tell you if Drag racing was their main focus but the fact is the car is the most popular and hated at the drag strip-speaking from exp 2)Tesla has unlocked performance before and the Tesla geeks that predicted the car can do 220 mph and then it did also predicted up to 1500 Hp 3) A...

What the Plaid needs to win at the track

I own a 2021 model S Plaid and race it regularly at the drag strip. This car was made for drag racing hence Drag Strip Mode. If you own a Plaid and have not taken it drag racing its like owning a parachute only for the sake that you think you might jump too high at the trampoline park with your...

Model S Plaid Drag racing bump box

I can keep trying the brake method but even the guy on the Tesla Racing Channel appears to have abandoned that method and negotiates double bulbing most of the time or just straight plaid mode

Model S Plaid Drag racing bump box

Ive tried it numorous times in practice and dozens of times at the track (to my embarrassment) and for my car it takes just a little tiny bit of trying the brake release method and you are instantly out of launch mode

Model S Plaid Drag racing bump box

Sam thank you for your reply- I do talk to the people running the tree but they’ve been saying that once the second set of bulbs(all staging bulbs) are lit the tree automatically starts counting down ( I believe 7 seconds) consequently I never complete the launch sequence. I don’t know if they...

Model S Plaid Drag racing bump box

Launch control for the Model S plaid sucks for drag racing. You cant properly get your second stage bulbs and fulling get into launch mode before the lights go. I was wondering if anyone knows how to rig up something to the brake lines that let me bump into the second beams without losing launch...

Vendor M14x1.5 grade 5 titanium lug nuts set of 20 that fit Tesla model S 3 X Y

BTW Jeff, the ZR1 Carbon Ceramic rotors with custom hats is a brilliant idea. Carbon Ceramic Brakes are the future for very high performance ( and heavy)EV’s. Maybe you could look into machining the hats for these rotors and offer a kit. RB Brakes is the only company right now offering a kit for...

Vendor M14x1.5 grade 5 titanium lug nuts set of 20 that fit Tesla model S 3 X Y

Coolbreeze303, I just ordered a set of studs from a machine shop in Austin Tx- Ti64 the set was a little over $600 without the lug nuts. I asked if they were machined in the US and he said the parts they carry come from all over the world- So that probably means china. I am in talks with a...

Vendor M14x1.5 grade 5 titanium lug nuts set of 20 that fit Tesla model S 3 X Y

Acer got back to me and told me that they had nothing that would fit. Jeff told me he no longer makes the studs-Im not sure why. I‘m having a hard time believing that he was the only one making them. I will look into see if Dorman makes them in Titanium. Thanks for the suggestions

Vendor M14x1.5 grade 5 titanium lug nuts set of 20 that fit Tesla model S 3 X Y

I checked out Acer and sent them an email waiting for a reply (customer service over the phone is a thing of the past I guess) It looks like the studs for the 2015+ Mustang might be a fit, gotta double check the length.

Can someone please direct me to where I can buy titanium wheel studs /lug nuts for my 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid?
