EV Offer frunk not unlatching *SOLVED*

Heh. Sounds like you had quite the adventure there ;) I wonder what the firmware fix is for a malfunctioning latch motor?

Anyone Using These Gemini Aero Discs?

So nobody knows who is actually selling these?

EV Offer frunk not unlatching *SOLVED*

Cross posting but I figured it out, and made a diagram for others (if they were confused like I was):

Anyone know how to get behind front wheel well panels?

OK, so, I figured out the answer to my own question. Basically I had been confused about the location of the motor (although I did the install myself, it was nearly a year ago). After studying some images of the Model Y frame and carefully re-watching the install video, I realized I was looking...

Anyone Using These Gemini Aero Discs?

Here you go: Also, where are these actually sold?

Anyone Using These Gemini Aero Discs?

I think they look pretty cool. On the Model Y Subreddit everyone was laughing at them and seem to universally regard them as terrible, but... personally I agree with you, they have a rally car look as well as looking really aero. I might get them.

Anyone know how to get behind front wheel well panels?

I have an EVOffer Power Frunk kit that has died after 9 months. EVOffer support is asking me to access to latch motor via the front left wheel well, to cut a cable to release the frunk (the regular emergency release cable has also failed, so that's not an option). I'm not a car person so not...

EV Offer frunk not unlatching *SOLVED*

Does anyone else know of a video for doing this (removing the wheel well panels to access the latch motor)? Do I need a tool to pop the retainers off? Seems like the kind of thing where you could do damage just yanking blindly.

EV Offer frunk not unlatching *SOLVED*

I’m in the same boat here. Evoffer v4 power frunk installed last June, worked great until this weekend when it just makes two latch noises in quick succession and doesn’t open. Emergency release cable snapped off without getting anything open. I contacted Evoffer and was told to turn the wheels...

    Ear pain/Pressure help

Ugh, just saw that the 'lost' version of my post reappeared, so now there are two slightly different ones :P Regarding foam on the outside of the tub, could it be that it's not the tub but the metal frame around it that needs to foam? Just speculating - you guys have actually had the panels...

Tesla making buyers sign promise not to resell?

FYI, got a bit more info, and yeah, it was that clause in the standard sales agreement that says you aren't buying the vehicle to resell. I think they were somewhat naive and just informed the Tesla rep upfront that they were there to pick up the car but were going to sell it right away - i...

Tesla making buyers sign promise not to resell?

Just heard this from someone I know. This is in Canada, if it makes a difference: Model Y, ordered in Sept last year. Finally ready for delivery this week. Buyer had already made up their mind that they didn't want the car, but had a private buyer lined up due to the price difference beween...

    Ear pain/Pressure help

I'm starting to think that the unpleasant noise is definitely a combination of multiple things, not just one. I still have not done the tubing or rigid hatch stops (planning to first get service to adjust hatch panels before doing any mods, and have been too damn busy to do that yet), but have...

Power frunk kits: Where did you put the latch motor?

I just finished installing the EvOffer v5 power frunk kit. Installation kinda went as expected (strut removal/attachment was the only tricky part), but one thing I found frustratingly vague was where to place the latch motor. The kit came with some adhesive pads but they were not called for...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

I feel like someone could start a service where they solve people's Model Y noise issues. Figuring out the right combination of hatch adjustments, sound deadening material, etc. I'd pay good money for that...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

Got some 5/16" OD vinyl tubing and some PVC fittings for rigid bump stops, although realizing that making the rigid bumps tops is less trivial than I originally thought, so haven't tackled it yet. Worried that the tubing install may damage the hatch gasket (still have an eye on selling the car).

Easy and effective low frequency fix

To clarify I wasn’t riding in the trunk, just in there to adjust the stops while parked. The lower stops seem like you need to be inside to pull the paper without the gasket interfering. And you’re right, just because something resonates doesn’t mean it’s the cause - the cover for the lower...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

The frustrating part is that we like the car otherwise, we HAVE it, and really don't want to buy another ICE, but other EVs are both hard to obtain and lack the ability to drive long distances due to the lack of a viable charger network.

Easy and effective low frequency fix

So yesterday my wife drove the Y by herself for the first time and came back complaining about the boominess over any road imperfection (and in Minnesota pretty much every square inch of pavement that's over one winter old is cracked and potholed). On earlier drives as a passenger she said it...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

I would believe that some people are just not sensitive to it. The first tech I showed it to said he heard nothing and my wife also doesn't find it problematic. I think some people are just sensitive to pressure changes and certain low frequency noise. I'm a musician and what particularly...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

Reading this thread with interest. Got my new MYLR7 last week and the booming over bumps is definitely ruining my enjoynment of the car. Have been half thinking about selling it if it can't be fixed. My old car (2006 Honda Fit) was i'm sure objectively louder inside but that was a kind of 'full...
