Supercharging now more expensive than ICE

Erm...some people who bought a 2018 car might have something to say about supercharger prices doubling and more.... There is nothing wrong with challenging electrical cars to be more reasonably priced for the average person. Because until then it's reasonable that most people who might not be...

    Finally got V11 on MCU1 (Switzerland/Germany)

I am looking forward to it. Certainly feels a bit fresher. Can't see myself upgrading to MCU2 to be honest.

    Finally got V11 on MCU1 (Switzerland/Germany)

So I have been stuck on my MCU1 tesla (with Ap2 I think) with some old 24.28 software. Interestingly enough it finally popped up with update for the first time ever when I was on a road trip. It had to download over WiFi so I used phone. But then it disappeared and didn't come back. So I...

Supercharging now costs more than gas (one owner's experience)

The petrol prices have gone up a lot from around 1.4 chf to 2.0 chf. But that proves even more that even at historical highs the tesla supercharging is not competitive at all? If petrol prices dropped again it would be cheaper to run a performance porsche than an electric car! I think it's fair...

Supercharging now costs more than gas (one owner's experience)

Back of paper maths. My Porsche = 1 CHF per 5km My Tesla Model S = 0.60 CHF per 5km Now I have free supercharging but it's interesting that the difference really isn't that much for a performance oriented car. Certainly for a "normal" efficiency car like a Volkswagon Passat it would be the...

    Supercharging Cost (Switzerland)

6 charges done now. Loving it. Allows me to really drive how I like without caring at all.

Any benefit from not upgrading from 2021.24.28

Well....I contacted tesla about replacing the emmc and at same time asked about the latest firmware. The guy told me that the car will not be updated beyond 2021.24.28 because I am on MCU1. So I guess that solves that question!

Any benefit from not upgrading from 2021.24.28

Per title just took ownership of my tesla 90d (face-lift late 2016/2017). Seems like it's still stuck on this firmware. Not sure how to update it...or more pertinently...should I even want to? Regards

    Supercharging Cost (Switzerland)

Okay quick update. Not sure how to post pictures. But I ended up picking it up early. Was delivered to me half full. I did some trips around town etc. Then I charged to 90% (it indicated 500km but I changed to actual and it was a lot lower!). Had a good drive through Germany (ahem), stayed...

    Supercharging Cost (Switzerland)

Yeah I meant accelerating is definitely a constant… But highways in Switzerland are strictly limited to 120kmhr so this will be efficient i guess. It’s more my trips through to Germany etc where I would routinely have the Porsche 250+ . I accept those days will end but I would still like to...

    Supercharging Cost (Switzerland)

Thank you for that. Yeah I've done the cost of petrol per year in the Porsche and want to basically plug in the KW/hour cost for supercharging. Looks like Tesla is a bit cagey on it. I saw an old blog post which said it had raised from 0.48c to 0.60c which seems very steep! That would make...

    Supercharging Cost (Switzerland)

Hello all, I'm mulling over a 2016 Tesla Model S which I am thinking of buying next week. I am not able to get charging at home but I live 10 mins from a supercharger which happens to be free with this car... Realistically I drive only casually (15,000km a year probably) and was curious what it...

Looking at my first 2015 Tesla P85D but only 376km range @ 108km?

Cheers thanks for that comment, makes me feel slightly better. I am doing a walkaround and review of the car later this week. Anything that I should look out for or test? Owner seems very pleasant but quite ignorant as they had it from new as a 3rd car and don't think they "know" much about it...

Looking at my first 2015 Tesla P85D but only 376km range @ 108km?

Hello, apologies if this is a simple question, been searching a lot but haven't found anything definitive. I am looking at purchasing a 2015 P85D with 21" turbine wheels. The car has done 108,000 KM (not miles) and the car range when I viewed it was 376km. This seems quite low to me? The owner...
