    Front Bumper Camera

This is us. We have a 2023 MYLR and then added a F150 Lightning about 7 months later. The comfort of the Lightning is so nice, my wife wants something that has similar comfort, but she (we) love the Tesla. We actually use the third row in the MY at least once a month, so the Model X is the...

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - W Tropical Pkwy

Interesting... When Tesla opened (some) V3 Superchargers to non-Teslas, this site was not one of the included ones. Makes sense I guess since there are only 8 stalls that are very busy and there is a new/larger site just down the road. But... I just noticed this week that something changed and...

    Counting Teslas while you drive?

On the drive back from Southern California to Vegas, it felt like every-other car was a Tesla. We stopped at Eddie's World for lunch and figured we would charge since we were there anyway. Lol.... line of Tesla's out onto the street. The funny thing is that about 10 miles down the road are 40...

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

I think most people would prefer not to block anybody else from charging, but when you need a charge to continue, you need a charge.

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

I will PM you to keep this thread from going off topic. (Anybody feel free to ask if you want my opinions specific to comparing our MYLR to the Lightning)

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

For the first portion of your post.... 100% agreed. We have a MYLR and a Lightning. When in the Tesla, knowing CCS is a backup just gives us piece of mind. Now, then driving road trips in the Lightning, the CCS network will be my default, but knowing I can get a charge from Tesla will just...

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

My understanding is there is some software/hardware necessity that not all V3 stations currently have. Maybe Tesla just left some V3 stations Tesla-only on purpose, but I think we all hope that over time all V3 stations will be open to all EVs (through hardware/software updates) and help...

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

It looks like Tesla strategically kept some V3 sites exclusive to Tesla. My guess this is based on how busy they are already. If the site is struggling to keep up with Tesla demand, it wouldn't be smart to suddenly add more vehicles trying to use the chargers. The find us map on the Tesla...

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

When the non-Teslas were originally designed, the prospect of using the supercharger network wasn't a possibility. Car companies couldn't agree on a charging connector let alone the location for that connector. (This is not a new problem either... the location to fill up with gas isn't...

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

First... We have have a MYLR and a Lightning... Just putting that out there. Backing up the Lightning (what you mentioned you didn't want to see coming at you) is super easy with the parking sensors and 360 degree camera. The MY may have a tighter turning radius, but the Lightning is much...

This is a pretty small location. I am surprised they opened it to non-Teslas.

Mustang Mach e GT charging at California Tesla supercharger

I think (100% could be wrong) the member EA price on my last trip was $0.43/kW. Two charges and the membership was covered for the month.

The F-150 Lightning Is not what I expected - Anyone else feel the same?

The v4 cabinets (which there aren't many yet) have longer cables and are placed in the center of the parking spot. The v3s (which are what are open to Fords) are going to be tough. Advice I am seeing: Try to park on the end. If you can't, look for a spot next to another non-Tesla. At least...

Mustang Mach e GT charging at California Tesla supercharger

I have noticed a good mix here in Vegas (open to NACS, not open to NACS). There is a very busy 8 stall close to me that isn't open to Fords and another 20 stall a little further away that is open. The 20 stall is also designed in a way, I think Ford owners can charge without always having to...

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - West Craig Road

The layout of this site is good too for non-Tesla EVs. Hopefully Tesla continues to build with different vehicle charge port locations in mind.

Supercharger - Barstow, CA - Tanger Way (LIVE, 70 V3 stalls)

Nice there are some pull throughs since this site is now open to Ford.
  18. C

Supercharger - Yermo, CA - Sunrise Canyon Rd (LIVE 25 May 2023, 40 V3 stalls)

This is one of the location that is open to non-Tesla EVs. If there are both V2s and V3s, that can get confusing if there aren't signs.

Tesla charge adapter is available on Ford's site now. Go order it!

Mustang Mach e GT charging at California Tesla supercharger

Parking diagonally or not... two spots are essentially taken. Even with just parking straight-on and using the charger one spot over, the cord sometimes barely makes it. Parking diagonally helps. There is a great video from Tom Moloughney showing this problem when he charged his Lightning at...

What should the Mustang driver have done? Not charge?

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV (Durango Rd, NW Las Vegas)

I drive by this location on the freeway a couple times per week. The business (bar) has opened, but I half of the area that could be a parking lot is still dirt and I don't see any activity. :-(

The F-150 Lightning Is not what I expected - Anyone else feel the same?

I 100% agree with you on this one. Tesla folks feel like the Tesla chargers are "their" chargers and other manufacturers' cars should defer. I know I felt that way when I only had a Tesla. I was 100% annoyed when they announced the plan to open up the network. Then I bought a Ford and went...

The F-150 Lightning Is not what I expected - Anyone else feel the same?

Well... V3 and V4.... though V4 is more of a future thing. The 150KW V2 chargers are lacking the ability to communicate with CCS cars.

The F-150 Lightning Is not what I expected - Anyone else feel the same?

We have a 23 MYLR (purchased Dec' 22) and a 22 Lightning Lariat ( Jun' 23). After buying the MYLR, I was sold on EVs and was on the hunt for a deal on a Lightning. We absolutely love both, but there is a big difference in comfort. The Lightning has a super soft ride which is exactly what we...

Thanks @siromega . This stall design will definitely work better with my Lightning. ;-)

@Matsayz I will try to drive by this week when I am down that way. Maybe @siromega knows.

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV (Durango Rd, NW Las Vegas)

I find the lack of progress at this site disturbing. There is progress on the neighboring building, but when I went for doughnuts a couple of weeks ago, I could see no signs of progress on the chargers. Maybe if this drags on long enough, they will be V4 dispensers with magic docs.

    Counting Teslas while you drive?

We played this game here in Las Vegas when we first ordered ours. It was fun for a while, but there are just soooo many of them, the game stopped being a challenge. ;-) We have a MYLR and a Lightning, so we thought it would be fun to count Lightnings. Outside of mine and my neighbor's...

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

I am 100% with you. We own a Tesla as well. If I am on a trip in our MY and I have to wait 40 minutes to charge because of a Lightning, I am going to be unhappy.

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

The last thing I want to do is block two spots, but when you gotta charge you do what you have to. The strategic thing to do would be to leave the spots on the end empty if possible so Fords aren't blocking two chargers. My dream would be if the CCS to NACS adapter came with an extension...

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

I don't disagree, but when people pull up to the chargers, there is no mystery who owns/operates the chargers.

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

When I read this, I was thinking retrofit for the old V2s. I am just excited it is happening regardless of "how" it is happening. Updates since the initial announcement by Ford have been hard to come by. We have a MYLR and a Lightning, and the Lightning is way more comfy for family road...

Magic Doc? All new chargers should have those! ;-)

Note.... I ended up with a nail in my tire after this visit.

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV (Durango Rd, NW Las Vegas)

I stopped by today to check on progress. The parking lot, at least some of it, is paved, and you can drive back to look around. I am not sure where the chargers are going to go, but there are two concrete pads. Anyway.... photos are attached. :-)

Tesla slashed prices by huge amount for all models, feel duped

That short period of time when used cars were appreciating in value will take years to get out of everybody's heads. (Ok... not "everybody".) The way I look at it: Both of the ICE vehicles I traded in were WAY overvalued at the time I traded them. I got more money than I should have when I...

Tesla slashed prices by huge amount for all models, feel duped

Sure... it hurts when it happens, and it is natural for you to feel differently about your purchase. That being said, drive and enjoy your car with the knowledge that the next time you buy one it won't be as expensive. I am thrilled that Tesla is constantly working to make their cars more...

Yay! I was thinking Tesla forgot about this one. Hopefully they make them pull through and add magic docs!

Ford will add NACS to next gen EVs!

Even before Tesla decided to share their charging network, I noticed a tendency to expand V2 sites with new V3 chargers. If you have chargers that are working well, why go through the added cost/complexity to upgrade them to V3? The only time I could see making a case for an upgrade is when a...

Ford will add NACS to next gen EVs!

Thank you for finding the source! I can't wait to be able to use the Tesla network with both of our vehicles (MYLR and Lightning). Road trips are rough when you have to trust the EA chargers to work. And.... what was EA thinking generally only putting 4 in at most locations?! I just wish...

Ford will add NACS to next gen EVs!

I think I remember reading that the 150 KW chargers will remain Tesla only. But... I could be remembering that wrong.

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV (Durango Rd, NW Las Vegas)

We stopped by Dee's Donuts last weekend. It feels like construction at this entire site has stalled. If you had to guess... what do you think the grand opening for these chargers will be? My guess.... 03-2024.
  44. C

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - W Charleston Blvd

The parking area mentioned above seems to be awfully full most of the time I go there. I have to think that increases the risk of the chargers getting iced just for the parking spot.
  45. C

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV (Durango Rd, NW Las Vegas)

Ugh! The 215/95 interchange is a never-ending construction project. Thanks for stopping by for the pictures!

Ford will add NACS to next gen EVs!

As a MYLR and Lightning owner, this is AMAZING news! I will pay double to charge my Lightning on a Tesla charger. When we road-trip, reliability is what counts.
  47. C

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV - 7400 Las Vegas Boulevard South

That's too bad. I look forward to the charging network opening for all EVs. Thanks for the update!

2023 Model Y no USS discussion, incl. Discussion of Tesla Vision Firmware

I am seeing some posts out there saying park-assist for non-USS cars is part of the latest FSD Beta rollout. Crossing my fingers it works well and comes to all of us non-FSD folks soon. I won't hold my breath, but I can still hope.

Did a wood dash trim delete today

We installed the same thing a couple of months ago, and it seems to be holding up well. We'll see if it stays stuck on once we hit the middle of summer here in Vegas. If it doesn't, no big deal because it was cheap. I don't think the wood dash was low quality. We just really didn't like the...
