Tesla app for Model Y flitting between random GPS locations

Interesting, I use Teslamate too and never thought that would be the issue. I'll try your fix, thanks.

Tesla app for Model Y flitting between random GPS locations

Interesting theory but it seems more random for me. It happens in some places but then my wife may be driving in other places and the map is just fine. Still haven’t been able to determine any sort of pattern to it. Either when it does it or the places it chooses to go to.

Model Y front parking sensor detached - can I fix it myself?

Thanks, I did that and managed to click it back in place but the warning is still there after restarting so time for a mobile service…

Model Y front parking sensor detached - can I fix it myself?

So a couple of days ago, someone in front of me at a junction reversed without looking and crashed into my car. Luckily it seems I have got off quite lightly with the bumper damage (mostly scratching and one or two chips but no massive denting/cracking). However, one of the front parking sensors...

Model Y: Daily Use changed from 90% to 80% in last week or so...

Yes appreciate the difference and I do charge to 100% sometimes when I have a long trip coming up. Daily use was 90% until it suddenly started advising 80%. What is not very clear is how much extra ageing happens by regularly charging to 90% instead of 80%. So I can't work out if the extra...

Tesla app for Model Y flitting between random GPS locations

Yeah in-car is fine, it's only the app that has the issue so I don't know if it's a bug in the app or how the car reports its location. I've not been able to find any pattern to where/when this happens, any ideas on why or how to fix it. I've chalked it up to the "random bugs" box along with the...

    Washer Fluid Low!

I've found that I'm getting the washer fluid low message more frequently than I would normally check in my old ICE car. But then again I didn't know the capacity was 4.5L, so maybe I'm refilling too little each time to make the message go away. So if empty I'd need to nearly empty a whole...

Model Y: Daily Use changed from 90% to 80% in last week or so...

Thanks both for your insights, I obviously missed the memo with the release notes! I wonder if it'll make a difference if I continue to charge to 90% for daily driving. 80% seems a little low for some of our journeys...

Model Y: Daily Use changed from 90% to 80% in last week or so...

I wondered about this as well since the app and car always advised 90% charging for daily use, then it suddenly changed to 80% after an upgrade. I was wondering if this is a change across-the-board or maybe it's tied to the age of the car, charging patterns or something else? I rarely use a...

Tesla app for Model Y flitting between random GPS locations

Nope no screen protector on my phone - it seems to be a fault either with the app or the car reporting its position. Flit as in jumping randomly between locations all across the world. One second the map will show Cornwall, UK, the next second it will be somewhere in the Middle East and a second...

Tesla app for Model Y flitting between random GPS locations

I'm not sure if this is limited to the Model Y or a general issue with the iPhone app, but I have seen somewhat consistently that in some locations, attempting to view the GPS location of the car via the app map starts off in the correct location but then very quickly flits between wildly...

Intelligent Octopus - clarification re off peak hours

The thing about being careful opening the Tesla app after Octopus has scheduled charging is important - see my thread Constantly re-starting charge after being stopped and Car starts charging without prompt. There is a chance that opening the app will restart charging outside the Octopus...

Constantly re-starting charge after being stopped

Interesting and good to know others are seeing the same and it's not just me going mad! But a shame going by the other thread mentioned above that Tesla don't seem interested in a fix. It used to work fine until a software update, just a shame I don't know which one specifically broke it.

Constantly re-starting charge after being stopped

Yeah I don't believe this is an IO issue since it happens outside any IO charging windows and seems to be mostly triggered by either opening the Tesla app (which wakes the car) or opening the car door. The car seems like it "forgets" that I specifically stopped the charge.

Why did Intelligent Octopus stopped charging Tesla EV?

Yes sorry I meant setting charge limits that are lower that the one you set in IO. This will result in IO trying to get to its charge limit but failing since the car/charger keeps stopping it. You'd normally set the limit in the Tesla app and IO to 90% (this is my setup and recommended for...

Intelligent Octopus - clarification re off peak hours

Anything the IO app schedules for EV charging results in the off-peak electricity unit rate across all usage.
  17. rubenarakelyan

Why did Intelligent Octopus stopped charging Tesla EV?

I have IO and yes, you allow IO (via the app) to determine exactly when to charge the car. You just need to set the charge limit, and "ready by time" to whenever you want it to be ready. With those constraints, the IO app will work out some charging times so that by the "ready by time", the...

Constantly re-starting charge after being stopped

This is something I've noted over the past few weeks/months but have not been able to pin down a particular update that might have caused it. I plug the car in at some point each day but I don't want it to start charging straight away because I want Intelligent Octopus to start it when I'm on...

First time EV owner's 2022 MYLR impressions

I had enough issues with the windscreen, I am *not* looking forward to changing the glass roof!

Thanks, I don’t remember seeing anything like that but I checked anyway and there’s no film on then.

First time EV owner's 2022 MYLR impressions

I hadn’t thought about it like that, but then again, I’ve had a few stone chips before and they’ve never turned into a full-blown crack, especially one that goes half way across the windscreen. Maybe it happened to hit the “sweet spot”?

First time EV owner's 2022 MYLR impressions

I know it’s larger than the majority of cars they change windscreens on but I agree, it’s not anything unexpected. Sounds like another BS excuse to me anyway.

First time EV owner's 2022 MYLR impressions

Couple of reasons mainly: 1. The closest Tesla service centre is a few hours away 2. In the UK at least, most insurance companies cover windscreen replacement with a flat £75 charge whereas the full charge would be many hundreds of pounds

First time EV owner's 2022 MYLR impressions

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. Based near St Ives in Cornwall, UK. My wife and I bought a 2022 MYLR delivered in September 2022 after test driving both a Model 3 and Model Y at Exeter's pop-up showroom. We had also tested out a few alternatives like the VW ID.3/ID.4 and Hyundai IONIQ...
