    Rear subframe - i asked them to check specifically that, 4 times - they said it is ok. I went under the car and carefully checked all contact points/joints at the subframe- no cracks. And yes, they acknowledged the knock.

    I was not given any explanation on why DU went bad. After DU replacement, i am still fighting nasty knock from rear during acceleration (4 visits to SC later they still can’t find a source). Considering taking car to @wk057 for diagnostic as i am running out of options 😕

    not yet, but planned to do it. it seems like it is coming from the driver's side, but sometimes I can hear it from center/passenger side too. it is ALWAYS one distinct clunk/knock. will record the video soon ( planning to set up GoPro on the subframe - maybe that will make it more clear )

    Clunk from rear on hard acceleration...

    Resurrecting the topic Did you find a source of the problem? I have similar issue - once my DU was replaced car developer noticable clunk/knock on the acceleration- like something is shifting in the rear and hitting the metal. It does not appear on reverse, on bumps etc - only on acceleration...

    Update 6: Car is fixed! Though it is notably slower with new DU - or new revisions of the DU are “corked”, or i got used to MSLR L+ Also, I believe i had an option to select 48A charging at home, but now it is limited to 40A. Any ideas?

    Update 3: got uber credits, but no loaner. SC saying they don’t have one (tesla SC in Arlington) Timeline for repair - said they need to ship the DU from CA and might take 4+ weeks(!!!), though the app is saying that estimate repair completion is June 6th (1 week from now) Anyone dealt with...

    Update: Drive unit is dead. Attaching the estimate. $4800 for the DU replacement that will be under warranty seems “reasonable”, though i wish to have smaller problems then this. PS: tesla yet to tell me the ETA for repair, nor provide with loaner/uber credits.

    Thanks for your input! after searching the forum I saw that those errors might be connected to other units that are hooked up to HV loop ( AC, battery heater, DU ), but not necessarily the HV battery itself. Will wait for a response from Tesla - have you had similar issues that make you believe...

    i wish that would be 12v battery, though error codes suggest that “isolation fault, external to HV battery “ If I understand those codes correctly, battery is protecting itself as it sees a short of some HV component outside the main battery. But that is mine interpretation

    Wow, sorry to hear this! I think your best bet would be a 3rd party shop such as Gruber Motors, Electrified Garage, or 057 technology. Their reps are on this forum - I am sure you will be able to fix it at a fraction of the cost quoted by Tesla/.
