Car thinks door is closed when it’s open.

Can confirm this is the solution. I swapped out the puddle light from one of the footwells to the door at issue and PROBLEM SOLVED!

Rebuilt Supercharging and High Voltage Certification

Got it resolved today. There was a document missing that the dealership needed to resubmit to Tesla. All good!

Rebuilt Supercharging and High Voltage Certification

I repaired a wrecked 2020 M3P last year and was excited to see that Tesla offered a process for allowing cars back on their supercharger network. I scheduled a service to have that inspection performed and the car passed. As part of that process, they have to pull the HV battery and inspect...

Internal docs indicate Tesla to allow salvaged vehicles back on Supercharger network

It was around $700 for the inspection. They said it could take up to a week to propagate through the system. I tried it on Saturday (after a week) and still got the dreaded "Supercharging not enabled" error.

Loose CV axle and damaged front drive unit differential

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have a picture but it looks like every other CV axle I've seen in my 30+ years as a shadetree mechanic.

Internal docs indicate Tesla to allow salvaged vehicles back on Supercharger network

They approved it after the salvage inspection! Apparently a 3/16" dent isn't too much. They said they would have to pressure test the pack to make sure it is intact, but that must have also passed.

Internal docs indicate Tesla to allow salvaged vehicles back on Supercharger network

Thanks for the replies - they are light creases unrelated to the accident but very related to a careless forklift driver moving the car at some point. I'll contact the service department.

Throwaway Rims for Snow Tires on M3 Performance

The wheels came with center cap decals that I never got around to applying. They were hub-centric and no spacers/centering rings needed.

Throwaway Rims for Snow Tires on M3 Performance

Sorry for the delay in responding - I bought these: 18x8.5 MSW Type 30 BLK MACH and these tires: 235/45R-18 Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 XL I'll see if I can get a few pictures and post them here. I bought literally the least expensive rims without any consideration to their appearance. At...

Internal docs indicate Tesla to allow salvaged vehicles back on Supercharger network

Does anyone know what they inspect for the re-certify process? They inspect the HV components, but that doesn't explain any pass/fail criteria or what they even look for. I have a few scratches on the bottom surface of my battery and would really like to understand if there is a depth...

Throwaway Rims for Snow Tires on M3 Performance

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I just bought a set from tire rack. The centering rings aren't that big of a deal for me since I can use some silicone or other removable adhesive to keep them on the rims.

Throwaway Rims for Snow Tires on M3 Performance

I've got a 2020 AWD performance and need to get some winter tires/wheels and absolutely do not care what they look like. Since these will live in the slush and may hit a curb once in a while, they just need to be round, fit, and hold air. From what I understand, 18" is the minimum size, so...

Winter tire MP3 snow tire sizing

According to the tire rack, M3 performance can go down to 18" but I don't know how close that gets you to the calipers.

Loose CV axle and damaged front drive unit differential

It does swap without too much fanfare. The worst part was draining the coolant and ATF=9 fluid. Here are some pics of the internals if anyone is interested. The last pic shows the chewed up surface where the CV axle mates up. I'm going to try a local machine shop first to see if they can...

Loose CV axle and damaged front drive unit differential

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2020 model 3 performance with some damage on the front right side. The inner CV boot was damaged so decided to replace the CV axle on that side. When I went to pull it out, i noticed that it was pretty loose and wobbly where it met the front drive unit...
