Overall great with just one complaint

The point was that they should have installed the critter guard to begin with or at least offered it to me as an upsell during initial install. I didn’t know enough at the time to ask for it.

Rear Camera Recall for Model 3s (2017-2020)

I’m in the US and service in the app says they won’t be booking for this repair until 2023. My guess, given Tesla sucks at cars, is that it will be at least mid 2023.

What the hell has happened to Autopilot?

Tesla autopilot is absolutely overpriced trash and in fact far worse than systems not called autopilot from other major manufacturers. Good thing I only paid $5k for “enhanced autopilot” and $3k for “full self-driving” back in 2018 instead of whatever ridiculous price they’re charging for this...

Tire Blew Out on PLAID - 1.5 month wait on tires ?!

I’ve had to get slightly wider tires instead of OEM size for both my M3P and my Audi. That’s just life right now. Hope this advice helps you get back on the road sooner than later.

Overall great with just one complaint

I’ve had Tesla solar with one battery for about 2.5 years now. I got prolly 5 or 6 bids on solar before deciding to go with Tesla. They were so much cheaper than every other bid it wasn’t even funny. Everything was and has been great except one thing. I’m not sure how much of this was my fault...

    Your wheels are probably bent

TLDR: your wheels are probably bent, but not detectable by the naked eye. Don’t expect a tire shop to tell you unless you specifically ask them to look for wobble on their balance machine. Inspect, then go get them trued and refinished. Recently had a retired Lambo tech buddy come into town to...

Is now the worst time to accept delivery of a Model Y?

Wait. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy a Tesla right now. Overpriced junk, albeit quick off the line. I’d say this forum is biased towards fanboys although there seems to be a nonzero number of realists.

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

My reply had nothing to do with price and was in regards to “I pull away from any and everything”. False. My MP3 has drug multiple modded vetts and a McLaren off the line but won’t beat a plaid.

    Solved: wind noise

FROM OP of this thread: " Root cause The A-pillar is open on the front end. Air can enter from the fender as well as the windscreen area. This causes vortices in the a-pillar / sound that resonates in the a-pillar. The A-pillar opening is partly closed a by a rubber flap. But this flap is not...

    Solved: wind noise

Could someone please link to a product they’ve had success with regarding wind noise? I’m at a loss and will try just about anything save for stuffing a hacked up kitchen sponge into crevices of my car.

Would someone be so kind as to post a link to a part (or parts) for sale that they’ve had personal luck with in terms of wind noise elimination?

Lucid Air Grand Touring vs Tesla Model S Plaid.

"build quality is unquestionably better than Tesla's, and this is Lucid's first car" Tesla needs to stop trying to make cars and just sell components to other companies instead.

    Status of Transfer-ability?

I guess it makes sense to think of transferring from one vehicle to another you own if you view FSD as a sort of add-on like a radar detector that can just be unplugged and moved from one vehicle to another. I had never thought of it like that until now. I always assumed it was and should be...

    Status of Transfer-ability?

Ok, so what about enhanced autopilot and full self driving? Because the crux of my question was transferring these two options to a new owner at the time of vehicle sale. Is this only straightforward in the case of person-to-person? What about a trade-in? Is full account transfer required or is...

The ads in this site are hilariously bad

Irrespective of sexual orientation, the ad is in very poor taste; even poorer taste than using sexual orientation as slander. Keep it classy mods and long-time members.

    Status of Transfer-ability?

Good info, thanks! So this lack of transfer-ability only applies to unlimited supercharging? See screen shot below from recent eBay listing of a similar vehicle.

    Status of Transfer-ability?

Of course I mean transfer to the new owner of the car. How is this at all ambiguous? The only reason I mentioned retaining ownership of the feature is if this is the only option available. When I sell my Tesla I’m likely done with Tesla as a brand save for selling my house with paid off solar.
  23. NoLtrBeater

    Status of Transfer-ability?

What is the current ability (or lack thereof) of owners to transfer enhanced autopilot and/or “full self-driving”? I’ve read conflicting reports but most seem to indicate it is not possible without transferring your entire Tesla account. If this is true, wtf?!? How do you deal with account...

FSD Beta 10.69.2.2 Released to 160 thousand, How do you like it?

For me auto turning was essentially non-existent (worked OK before) which makes this non-useable from a practical, minimize human intervention perspective. Thank goodness I only paid $8k for this trash in 2018 as opposed to the $15k they’re charging now.

    Wheel Fitment Question

I purchased these wheels today without taking the time to do a test fit so I will follow up once I know they work or not. Will post pics as well. Definitely great looking wheels for the price. Can't wait to (hopefully) hit the slopes with them!

All Tesla Owners in U.S. and Canada With a Safety Score of 80+ Will Receive FSD Beta Tomorrow!

It works ok-ish on well-defined segments of highway even without dense traffic. Unfortunately there's not much of that in Denver. My autopilot experience in Denver, CO is considerably poorer than the same software and hardware set in Dallas, TX (2019 software, old version TPU). In Dallas I could...

All Tesla Owners in U.S. and Canada With a Safety Score of 80+ Will Receive FSD Beta Tomorrow!

Been beta testing all morning since dropping my kid off at school. At best “full self driving” is highly deceptive marketing and at worst dangerous and not to be used outside out a few high data input scenarios such as dense stop and go traffic.

Unfortunately not surprising. I’m hesitant to use autopilot with my family in the car after my experiences thus far, prior to the update.

    Wheel Fitment Question

I just found a post from 2019 here indicating they do but can anyone corroborate?

All Tesla Owners in U.S. and Canada With a Safety Score of 80+ Will Receive FSD Beta Tomorrow!

So glad I joined this forum and thank you for posting this. I do not Twitter. As such, if not for this post, I wouldn’t have dug in and checked the opt-in box earlier today. And now I am officially a “full self driving” beta tester.

    Wheel Fitment Question

Does anyone happen to know if 18” Liquid Metal Shadow wheels will fit on a M3P with ORM big brakes? Discount Tire’s website says only 19s and 20s but not sure I believe it. Trying to avoid wasting time on a test fitment since I found a deal on a set local with super nice snow tires.

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

You’re right. I drilled down in the track menu and their “handling” or whatever it’s called is side-to-side power transfer rather than suspension tuning. Bummer.

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

Does the base Model 3 have track mode with in-cockpit suspension adjustment and torque allocation? If not, it's hardly fair to compare the handling of these two models.

    Intro - Sep Delivery 2018 M3P

Hello Forum, I own one of the first model 3 performances delivered (mid-September 2018). Fully optioned out. Only mods worth mentioning are of course cosmetic: full body clear wrap (paid to install), interior wrap to cover the piano black (did myself), center cap delete, and aftermarket mud...

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

Yes, August of 2019. In hindsight I should have gone north thru OK and KS then west across CO. Going across west TX was a terrible idea bc (despite was Tesla's built-in route planning said I could do) there was no way I could make it thru the electric desert that is west TX.

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

Or perhaps I'm a great planner and the routing Tesla does doesn't accurately take into account accessory usage?

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

Sorry, I don't buy that it is possible without a supercharger onsite or very nearby. Driving from Dallas to Denver was hell and RV charging that I was forced to do in the middle of nowhere New Mexico was like a 4-6 hour thing, which is a hella long lunch break.

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

I haven't tracked anything since moving and don't currently own anything to track. My only 2 cars presently are a 2018 M3P (september delivery) and a 2018 Audi SQ5. The glass issue was like 3 years ago so I'm over it but will still complain about it on a public forum. Overall, compared to the...

It was not covered under Tesla warranty but was covered under glass policy from my insurance. $0 deductible. I’ve had the back 2/3 roof glass replaced maybe 4 times now (long stories). Only paid once out of pocket. Once the glass from Tesla was defective so they replaced for free.
