Update: the initial estimate is laughable lol. My appraiser back then said the damage was about 12k and unlikely to be a total loss. Now after the body shop has inspected it (and they still aren’t done) it’s now 30k for repairs… I’m hoping the official estimate next week pushes me to total loss...
