I only picked up my model y on Xmas eve. So just outside of the 14day cooling off period and seeing this is a bit disappointing

My car threw a tantrum the minute I took the charger out saying that I didn’t have a payment method in my wallet in the app and that all supercharging was now blocked, when I got home I put in my bank card and it took the money straight away

Has anyone who got the free 6,000 miles of supercharging managed to use it yet? I picked up my Y on the 24th so I’m eligible and received the email from Tesla but was charged £15 for supercharging on Sunday. Do I need to activate it on the app somehow?

I was in the same boat. I managed to get a much cheaper quote through Darwin which I bought ready for my collection

Yep exactly that, I’ve just taken out and paid for that policy for £1340 with Darwin So I’m all sorted now. I’ll keep checking over the next fortnight in case anything else pops up. Hopefully for renewal time next year it will be cheaper but c’est la vie, I’ve got my reg now all sorted and ready...

As of this morning I have been able to receive one quote from a company called Darwin on CtM for £1340 which is miles more sensible. Also I have just received my reg number so ill be taking that out I think ready for collection on Xmas eve 👍🏻

I understand what your saying and that is what I am trying to do, get general quote that I’m happy with, inform them of reg when I receive it then take out said policy on collection of car. but there is a problem in the system that won’t give me a quote on the RWD as seen here. I’m not signing...

We’re going round in circles here. I’ve already shown you previously that there was another thread set up by other members having the same trouble.

So if that’s the case then why can I get a quote of on average of £1200 on a Y LR from 20+ insurers without a VRN but for a RWD only admiral as I said earlier for £1800? And that’s only if I call them. No one else will quote or are at all interested.

Tried that reg on go compare and compare the market and neither recognise it 😡

As I put above, there are very few SR MY’s out there let alone on eBay or auto trader. And insurance companies don’t recognise the standard range as an option so I can’t get a genuine quote. Only one I’ve had so far is £1800 from admiral and I’m reluctant to pay that much, I haven’t had...

They have allocated a car and given me a vin number so far without my full deposit. Only the £200

Was you using an extension lead that was on a coil? If so you really need to reel the whole thing out as they get bloody hot when used with a lot of current passing through them and can melt/catch fire if all coiled up.

I’m at my wits end with this at the moment, I’m tempted to cancel my order and get an ID4 gtx. I’m not paying Tesla my deposit until I get a reg and have it confirmed from my insurance that they will cover me.

I can buy an ex demo ID4 which has a range of 315 miles parking sensors is 10k less and is £560 a year insurance, rather than £1800 which is the only real quote I can get for the Tesla y standard range. I’m really struggling to rationalise hanging on to the Tesla which is due for delivery Xmas...

Yes same regarding the states. I just tried Tesla chat and told him it was on the source code and he said i don’t have a vin assigned also he didn’t know what the source code was. I was trying to find out if it had the improved cameras.

Yes they are, my RWD has the black 20’s best option I could get, shame I can’t stretch to the performance

After seeing these photos I have decided that I’ll buy my white RWD with black 20’s the performance spoiler

Just as an update on my last reply, my EDD changed an hour ago to 23-31 December and I now have a vin. I’m guessing my Y is on Grande Halifax

I’ve given up looking, I’ll get excited when I get the text or my EDD changes. Saying that though I received a text asking to provide my current mileage of my trade in so that might be good sign

Hopefully mine will be on grande Halifax to work out with my EDD of mid to late December

Bit of detail about Tesla vision please. What’s it like with no parking sensors? Is it just rear and side cameras? Do they have lines to assist? No beeping or measurements as to how far you are away from anything? Cheers

I just got a quote on a brand new long range Y with e-sure it’s £1300 on compare the market who still won’t quote me on a RWD. It must be a glitch in the system as there aren’t many if any on the road in the uk yet. If they’re willing to cover me for a long range then surely they will for a RWD

I called admiral and they quoted me £1680 which I find rediculous, I tried a go compare quote with the mustang Mach-e Rwd extended range which came in at £745. Given the nonsense about the USS and superchargers opening up to everyone else I’m struggling to see much advantage to the Tesla

I’ve just tried to get a quote against a RWD and no one would touch me, that’s on go compare and the meerkat! No points 14 yrs no claims and no accidents. I’m 37! I might call my insurers later
