    Elon & Twitter

Not a lot of talent out there at Elon’s level. Unfortunately his primary goals are Mars and culture war, not maximizing Tesla outcomes which matters when such things conflict. That helps to create a pool of more effective replacements at lesser skill. I read this board long enough to judge it...

    Elon & Twitter

At what point do we begin to wonder if Elon’s motives have carried far enough afield that as Tesla shareholders we press for a 2nd choice?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

In connection with discussions of South Korean factory, Elon mentioned spending 10b$ in South Korea in 2023 to various suppliers. Does that strike anyone else as unexplainably large?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

We're officially a meme stock again. I'm a little embarrassed that I spent the first few years investing thinking that it was a good idea to consider the efficient market hypothesis at least mostly correct.

I think I'll just provisionally chop it in half.

Where do we think the ZEV credits are going next year? Coming close to 1.5B$ this year it's still pretty sizeable chunk of the equation.

Anyone figure out the over/under for good/bad on the China weekly #s tonight? Also when's the release time?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think it makes perfect sense to worry that Tesla won't be able to sell out in China, and then on top of that worry that maybe they won't be able to build the cars they wouldn't be able to sell.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So let's imagine a wind sweeps through big tech of cutting off large chunks of unnecessary projects and payroll. what may come of waymo? I half expect to wake up some day to hear that they said 'yeah... nah not working'.. I know they are nominally still doing things but frankly I wonder what...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Elon just really really wants the cybertruck to succeed. Probably made it out of Legos once and all decisions since have lead to its reification. Even the landing rockets thing was just clever marketing. Master plan part 0 (never released) was: CYBERTRUCK OR BUST.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I wonder if 2023 is the year we see Tesla advertise. The subsidy is a very real piece of information that needs to be widely disseminated, and Tesla's theoretical production growth for this market is tremendous. Can also thank the Democrats for their incredible vision and leadership. And...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I know this isn’t a popular character, but Troy Teslike posted about rumors in China of a massive price cut spreading around. Like 15% (!) He calculates 5% gross margin after such a thing. Even if not true of course a potentially damaging belief if widely held. At some point mathematically...

No offense to Elon but I hope this normalizes soon. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%201-m&geo=US&q=Elon%20musk tsla appreciation is not positively correlated with him being searched on google. I haven’t done the science. Feels like a fair guess.

LCID -18% XPEV -11.5% RIVN - 12% NIO -11% BYD -6% I'm more inclined to think this is sector group activity today. Maybe some spillover from crypto at least among retail holders?

I know I've gotten everything wrong so far, but when the election overhang clears this stock is gonna moon. More seriously, it is crystal clear Republicans would chop the EV subsidy in a heartbeat so the mechanism is unclear but the intention isn't. Since most people are about as clueless as me...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Domestic demand where theoretically any political blowback may occur (not convinced of this btw) was never with IRA a concern for me, but ex-USA demand into 2023 is more concerning where I assume there aren't people canceling orders because Elon has opinions. However on the IRA front there...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Gotta say from Elon's perspective now would be a good time to get to work on a new comp package vis a vis the SP but man I'm hoping we don't have to deal with that soon. In other news, Eu and Korea still complaining about the EV subsidy. I have no idea how this resolves but I assume there is a...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Making the safe assumption that Republicans wanted to remove the EV subsidies in the IRA do they have to get past a Biden veto? What is the overall durability of these provisions in a 1 or 2 chamber republican congress?

I find it odd that we collectively rely on Tesla delivery estimates yet here we are with October still being listed as the delivery window for US. I find that a rather unlikely estimate.

I don't go in for 'technical analysis' but there's a pretty clear resistance level on that there chart around 220 to 222.

Hello Tesla fans. If my eyes and stats are accurate it looks like just north 10m miles for FSDb in Sept. They expanded from 100k->160k late in month so call it just north 100k average. So that's 100 miles per car. Any use tracking this metric as proxy for overall value customers may assign to...
