What do I do for the next few days while Smart Preconditioning is "learning"?

It would be nice to be able to give smart preconditioning some base conditions to work from. Time when it should do things and max temps for example. I was using teslacmd and a couple of scripts to check the temp and at 6:30 Monday-Friday if the temps were below 4c warm the cabin and also to...

    A Very Promising Start!

There are a few long threads on the tyres and why the 19"s are just as good if not better than the 21" options. The only difference is in looks and wear.

What about listing ALL the charging points?

I tend to use zap-map.com for this, pretty clear info and works in the car browser. I wonder why people like Google and Waze haven't already added this into their maps.

    Do UK Tesla Drivers ....

I would, but it's a lonely place where I never see others. I saw a black one on the other side of a car park as I was walking though, I would just been a random guy waving in the car park.

Warrington Supercharger now showing as open.

I spotted it on the day of opening, a moment of "eh? a red peg, I haven't been... hang on it's supercharger". I friend goes to the gym there they are definitely there. I very nearly called in on Friday as I was getting low on power.

My First Impressions of the Model S

I agree about sitting there with the brake lights on blinding the driver behind, but you can put the handbrake on and go into drive when need. It's really no different than an auto in that respect. However, sit there long enough (I think about 10 mins) and the alarm will go off.

    UK Home Charging

I have dual chargers but only as a stopgap while we don't have anything better on the roads for the times I need to emergency charge to get home / somewhere - 22kw is better than 11kw or 7kw in this case. I also thought having dual may be a good idea for resale. In reality, I don't need them...

    Delivery to the UK

I wish my DS was that accurate, I had about five or six moves in pickup / delivery date. Which included me booking flights that were then cancelled and delivery from Tilburg to the UK on a Thursday but then to find out that was the date the car was leaving Tilburg. My "confident" delivery date...

    Delivery to the UK

I can't remember the company but it's an enclosed transporter from West Drayton after being prepped. Before that it's final assembly in Tilburg, I think mine was an overnight trip from there. Before that it's about 5-6 weeks from California. I can't tell you much about the manufacturing time...

Which internet radio provider do Tesla use in the UK?

An it can either use a Premium Rdio account or the one that comes with the car, both suffer from a bug where only Rdio stations can be played which is OK if you don't want to listen to a specific track / album as it's near impossible to get exactly what you asked for. Also, the 3G connectivity...

Tesla Model S: Now Available with Lane Departure Warning, Speed Assist

I got mine on the 26th Sept, it doesn't have any of these. Not that I can say I'm bothered by not having these features the only one so far that I would actually like to see a retrofit for is emergency braking.

Future Value of your Tesla Model S in the UK.

Given the US market would suggest higher values then there is a potential for the same here. I don't see myself wanting a different car in 3 years or that there will be much on the market to compete so maybe there's going to be a good few holding on to them.

    Model S finance and insurance

Looks pretty good to me on the 5 year term, could be handy to add the £5k government grant so people don't forget. The fuel savings are good too, I moved to 27mpg to match my current car and added a 4% increase in fuel cost per year (not that recent years suggest that's happening) which gives...

How long did you wait from "In Transit" to picking up in the UK?

Arrrghhh! Last week, "your car will be leaving Tilburg on the 18th". Today it's "arriving on the 18th in Tilburg". Are they having a competition of incompetence or am I getting the run around? How difficult can it be for them to know where their stock is located and where it's going...

How long did you wait from "In Transit" to picking up in the UK?

Mine went into In Transit, I think towards the end of July. So far I have had a delivery date of the 1st Sept, then the 13th, then the 20th (booked flights having confirmed with DS) and then told that it's not the 20th but will be in this month. So, for me it's looking like 2 months.

    Internet radio in the UK

IMO, DAB is a good but doomed technology as internet radio and streaming provide a far wider choice of music to listen too. I have taken the UHF upgrade, but I wouldn't generally think that DAB or Steaming are going to be the best answer on the platform, rather a USB FLAC library for when I...

Hi-tech cars are a security risk, warn researchers

The problem with a security researcher is that they are paid to identify risk and potential issues. Given them a standard car with just a dumb key to open it, of course they could identify that with a photo of the key and a 3d printer they would be in the car and driving down the road. With a...
