Good for you! I heard Fremont was doing both (even though the SA said the matrix headlights were only on performance models). If the report had come back that the car didn’t have the matrix headlights I was going to take delivery Phoenix or Vegas, both easy to fly into on Southwest.

I'm sure you've figured your situation out by now, would love to hear what happened for you. I bought my 2018 model 3 in Ohio, got temp/paper plates at the DMV, no charge, then drove home to Dallas, registered at DMV here, paid taxes, got plates, sticker, etc.
