Model X UK deliveries in 2016

The DSs have access to far more information than what is shown on the portal.

Model X UK deliveries in 2016

Have you spoken to your DS? I don't believe the car actually has to be here in order to register it.

    RHD VIN assignment and delivery

Sorry, that's not the case, I have an order for a Signature X P100D which was originally meant to be delivered mid-December and is now looking like late Jan/early Feb.

    RHD VIN assignment and delivery

You categorically should not wait. Any perceived increase in value from it being a later plate would be offset from the changes in how VED are calculated for vehicles costing over £40,000. VED car tax changes in 2017 – what do I need to know?

    25th June

Model X UK deliveries in 2016

No. I have a VIN, but still in the production queue.

Is the X anywhere in the UK for viewing yet? (dealerships, roadshows, car shows, etc)

I went to the X event at WD. I thought the car looked fantastic in the flesh. I was particularly impressed with the new front seats as well. I have one of the first reservations and was told to expect to configure the car in June with delivery in October. We shall see what actually happens but...

    7.1 in the UK

AP has nothing to do with the software upgrade; to use AP you need to either buy an AP-enabled car or pay a (higher) fee to add it later. AFAIK!
  9. R

Model X UK deliveries in 2016

I'm not overly concerned... I think it's only marginally bigger than the S.
  10. R

    7.1 in the UK

No. Only on curves on the motorway at reasonable speed.

Tesla should redesign the EU chargeport and retrofit!

They're all meant to self open. Mine is a spring held shut by a magnet which releases. The new US ones self close. I'm not sure if it closes as soon as you remove the cable. I'd assume you'd press a button on the console or maybe when you drive off.

Press the little clock icon top right of the centre screen.

Thats normal; it's just a notification on the app. You have to trigger the install from the car.

    7.1 in the UK

Mine updated last night. As others have mentioned, there's no Summon functionality. Sometimes I've been one of the first to get an update and sometimes I've been a week or even 10 days after first reports. It seems quite random.

Model X UK deliveries in 2016

Mine was June *2014* if that matters for your analysis.

Tesla should redesign the EU chargeport and retrofit!

Yes, the UK ones at least are terrible. Mine only opens itself about 10% of the time, and that's without any freezing weather. My understanding is that the US ones are completely different and self open and self close.

Is the X anywhere in the UK for viewing yet? (dealerships, roadshows, car shows, etc)

I wouldn't expect to be able to see one in the UK for quite some time. Autumn?

Model X UK deliveries in 2016

I suspect based on the S that other orders will follow pretty quickly but it's still nice to get a deposit in early! I think I'm expecting pricing to be £5 - £10k more than the equivalent S.

Model X UK deliveries in 2016

I put a deposit on a Sig X in June 2014 and was told I was #6 in the UK at that point. Latest unofficial ETA I have been given is September 2016.

    Home charging advice.

Sorry. I actually meant a 32A single phase commando (which is what the blue adaptor on the Tesla works with). 10 hrs x 230V x 32A = 69kWh x 80% charging efficiency x 2.5 miles per kWh = 138 miles/day. That's exactly the same as what you would get from a PODpoint using a Type 2 cable. Only way...

    UK Cables, Plugs and Supercharging

Absolutely. I've ended up using the 13A charger way more than I thought I would, for exactly the reason you state. I just wouldn't want to use it as my primary charging source!
  22. R

    Home charging advice.

Why do you need a charger? Just get an electrician to run a 16A single phase commando socket for you and use the charging cable that Tesla will give you with your car. Much cheaper.

    UK Cables, Plugs and Supercharging

Domestic outlet means a normal plug, yes. It will work but will be very slow (think a whole weekend to charge from flat). The utility outlet means either a 32A single phase commando outlet (using a blue plug adaptor) or a 16A three phase commando outlet (using a red plug adaptor). Type 2 is...

    Home charging advice.

We have a P85D and an i3. We just charge the i3 using the UK 13A three pin plug adaptor. It's more than quick enough unless you're needing to recharge multiple times a day.

    P85D Ludicrous Pre-Order Upgrade Available 9/25/15

I picked up my UK RHD P85D on 24th July. At the time, I was reassured that the upgrade would be available and my name is on the list. This has been confirmed in writing since.

What would it give you that a commando socket and a UMC wouldn't?

    Home charging advice.

In 15 months or so I've never been in a situation where I think it would have been useful to have a CHAdeMO adapter. I think they're pretty expensive too. You'd be be better off buying a 62196-2 cable to use public charging points and home wall chargers. I've used these guys a few times...

    Home charging advice.

I picked up my P85D on 27th July. Apparently that was in the "transitional period", which meant I got a normal charging cable and a UMC as well. I didn't get a voucher for an electrician. Even without the voucher, this makes a lot of sense. In most cases, a simple 32A commando outlet will be...

    The "D"

Yep, I've been told to expect mine June/July 2015.

    The "D"

Ah, yes, seems the + has been replaced by the D.

    The "D"

Anyone thinking of changing? 4WD and 3.2s to 60. I'm sorely tempted by the P85D+! Any ideas on UK deliveries?

Charging rates dropped after software upgrade?

I paid the option price for a new car and they turned the 2nd charger back on (they did it remotely over the air). I don't mind the money; the whole experience was just incredibly badly handled. The guy who ended up sorting it out was very apologetic and said they had been getting a lot of...

Charging rates dropped after software upgrade?

I only ordered my Model S with a single charger, but I've always been able to charge at 22kW (32A three phase - about 65mi/hr). I assume this means I actually have dual chargers. I heard a rumour that some early RHD cars received the upgrade for free so I never really thought about it. After...
